Did this the other week using pellet drop from a 25 yard zero and a final range of 50 yards , i used strelok pro software ,, it worked flawlessly and the corresponding aim points where absolutely spot on ,, The actual bc was a far cry from the manufacturer's claims ,, A very worthwhile thing to do ,, great video
I spent years working on pcp air rifles to find ways to increase the bc, it is possible! The highest .177 BC i achieved using jsb Exact 8.4's is 0.0267 and in .22 0.0400 with 13.4 JSB 22 RS. Flatter shooting, higher down range velocity, takes less wind. Giving myself a mechanical advantage over other shooters certainly helped me win my World HFT title in 2016. It's quite interesting watching your vids and seeing someone follow the path i was on 15 years ago.
Just discovered your channel Jeff and it quickly grew on me and I am learning so much from you; thanks. I've now gone through them all in chronological order (without the use of a chronograph) and it's all making sense... and yes 20 to 30 minutes is needed for each one. Do you remember BZ?
Given my propensity for making long videos it must have taken you a few hours. Since our chat, our time at RNAS Culdrose is all coming back to me, not least the mother/daughter thing! 😉
Interesting way of doing it. I’ve always found the bc by using 2 chronographs one at the muzzle and one at a measured distance then put the speeds onto an online bc calculator to get your bc
Yo Jeff, excellent video, nice one, cause I learned a lot👍👍 and good timing, cause I just got Strelok and Mero the other night and this video shows me what to do. So thanks for the advice and tips 👍👍👍Also you have graduated onto my big 55 inch TV 👀👀🤣🤣 I'm used to watching everything on RUclips on my phone, now you are just about a life sized Jeff on my Telly which is a bit weird 👀👀🤣🤣rather than you being a Tom Thumb sized Jeff on my phone 👀👀🤣🤣 Also on a different subject Im getting an old Technics SX-KN 1400 vintage Workstation Keyboard next week.. It was one of my first keyboards.. I saw it on Ebay and just had to get it.. I'm hoping that everything is still working on it.. Fingers crossed.. Even though I've got Pro-tools and Cubase and Ableton Live, it will be cool to go old school again 🫣🫣🫣👀👀🤣🤣🤣catch you on your next video and have a great weekend.. 👍👌✌️
Thanks mate. I'm very honoured to be moved to the big screen. My first synth was a Roland SH09, it's the only one I no longer have. I lent it to a bass player and never got it back. All the best.
Yeh Jeff your on the big screen now 😂😂 its a bit weird cause you look like a giant now 🤣🤣that's a shame about your Roland SH09 😢😢I know you've probably tried to track the dude down to get it back.. Maybe one day you'll have it again.. 👍👍👍 Same happened to me with an old Korg M1 and a Roland sound canvas, I lent it to someone and they were in my band then he disappeared, never to be heard from again.. But I know where he is now 🤣🤣Karmas gonna be a bitch to him 🤣🤣🤣hope your having a great weekend bro ✌️👌👍
@@hftshooter Jeff thanks for reply. I used veneer callipers to measure my scope high to put into my Alpex. This morning I tried the tin foil and found a difference of 2mm between them. I think the tin foil is way more accurate. One more question if you don’t mind. What magnification are you using at 50 yards? Do you use base mag or any that makes it clear to see POI, or ar3 you using the mag that you use majority of the time when you shoot out to longer ranges? Cheers
In the video I was using 16x mag just to make it clearer for the video. I normally shoot at 10x in the field and HFT, but will often go down to 8x for rabbits within 40 yards.
Its getting ridicules. I haven't got time to be a purist with a springer, but I admire them. But that bloody great thing your shooting is way out. I've got an old Daystate Air Wolf which I consider very heavy, especially with a dirty great MDC scope on it, so I will be considering something lighter. Didn't look at all the video but stopped on your BRK Ghost. I consider it an horrible looking thing compared to a Mk1 BSA Airsporter.

I'd love to know what methods you used to increase the BC.
@@MrTench8 tench regulators , probably the best available 👍
Nice to see when the theory matches the practical outcome. Not something I am in to, but very interesting video to watch.
Thanks for watching.
Saving this for when I eventually find myself in possession of the 500.
🤘🙂
Way clearer than other guides I've tried.
Glad it helped! 🙂👍

Glad you decided to post this video Jeff. Great info!
Glad it was helpful! 🙂👍
Excellent info, got my eye on a 3-12 Zulus will come in handy👍🏻

Yes, that's another way of doing it. 🙂👍
@ it’s the only way I knew of till watching you video 👍

Great video Jeff. Altering the BC will this help at short ranges or is it just for longer ranges?
It will help in giving you a more accurate idea of where your pellets will hit at all ranges. 🙂👍

Are you using pellets and G1 drag model together, instead of GA? :P
The GA model isn't available in the oneleaf ballistic calculator. I've asked them if they can add it.
@ You can find GA drag models from internetz

I guess these new tactical looking air rifles are not for everyone!
