      @maxpowers4436 Год назад +7

      Do you mean defined as in lean? Then sure but most oly lifters chests are underdeveloped because they dont train them and his is too. Especially compared to his shoulders and back.

    • @EmorettaRobinson
      @EmorettaRobinson Год назад +3

      @@maxpowers4436 I mean defined as in when you're able to see that someone's abs are defined because they have a six pack. It's almost like he has abs on his back. The description is odd for me to make. Especially since I've learned (from something that a personal trainer told me) that your core is from under your chest to your hips in the front. But also includes your lower back and glutes. So to build a strong core you should not only do exercises for the abs but the back and the glutes as well. Also I'm relatively new to weightlifting. I think they all have incredibly strong looking, defined and remarkable physiques. The more that I learn about the sport the more intrigued I am.

    • @KeterMalkuth
      @KeterMalkuth Год назад +13

      @@maxpowers4436 Depends on what you consider "Underdeveloped." For most of human history, the most powerful men had chests very similar to weightlifters. Really, most people would be better off with less chest work, to keep their shoulders more mobile.

    • @KeterMalkuth
      @KeterMalkuth Год назад +2

      @@EmorettaRobinson Remember that 70% of the muscle mass in your body is on your posterior side. For a healthy, balanced physique, the vast majority of your work should probably be focused on your back. Though, like you said, core work is just as important, arguably more so. However, many people underestimate how much core work they need to do and how many core muscles they need to train. Train your transverse abdominis by doing core work while holding a vacuum, train your rectus abdominis through a range of motion rather than just isometric holds, do cable rotations or similar exercises for obliques, do side bends for your psoas, do jefferson curls for your spinal erectors. Remember that lats contribute to spinal stability, and activating them will help maintain a solid foundation for any lift. Lots of things to put work into, lots of things to improve even when you feel yourself hitting a plateau on any given movement.

    I find those videos funny, cause training it's not one, ten, fifty sessions. Training are years. And what is china team perspective on periodization/ tapering/ detraining/ strategies? How do they know what is working? Are they monitoring fatigue? Assessing specific deficits on muscle recruitment, velocity or strenght? And here we are just watching and hypothetyzing for things that may be irrelevant , cause we don't know. You are so close to those athletes, don't no one from coaching / recovery talk or explain whats happening?

    • @siriushuang9402

      I used to be instructing some of the sport scientist working for China Weightlifting, I could disclose something to answer your questions. They have strict periodization, including strict tapering protocols. Programs are designed individually by experts from multiple countries. They monitor fatigue closely, last I know they spent millions of usd equivalent on sport science every year. The gym they train at in China is prabably the best in the world. They also have strict physical testing as well. They used VBT extensively. But from my perspective the size of the pool of talents is key to success. You just cant imagine how many kids are training weightlifting properly in China.
