      It does a great job. Fired right up this winter when I got it ready for the storm we had. But unfortunately I only got to use it for about one week here in Michigan and that was the extend of our winter this year.

    I'm in central NH. I've got one of these and I love it. The auto turn is nothing but a differential in mine. It's indispensable if you are turning in place or maneuvering it around with the engine off or drive disengaged. This is a heavy beast!

    • @doubleahomestead7794
      @doubleahomestead7794  7 месяцев назад

      The auto turn ended up being a very desire able feature. Hopefully I’ll be able to use this thing this winter. I’m in west Michigan and it was 50 degrees today. Things aren’t looking great for ice fishing for the 2nd year in a row.

    • @greentjmtl
      @greentjmtl 3 месяца назад

      The important part is it's a LOCKING differential. As long as there's power driving the axle and you are going straight the two wheels are locked together.

    You seem like a great guy and very level headed, so I'll subscribe and wish you good luck! Not sure you need it being you're a worker and you make your own luck so don't give up on yourselves! That's one of the "Best" machines you can get. I have a Troy Built until I saw how well other machines handle the slush and snow I thought I did okay, and did, but it will only throw slush like a foot or onto the machine. It's not a big deal at the end of the drive it takes a few minutes more that's all usually snow's mixed in with the slush. The "quick chute" is okay but not as good or long lasting as the quick crank like you have on that Ariens, I would be happy with any of the top three (or the one I own) Honda, Toro or Ariens but I would probably get the Ariens because other than the throttle everything looks strong built. Nice video! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

      Thank you so much for the kind words. I certainly try. Hope you had a merry Christmas and a good new year as well.
      The build quality on the Ariens is something I’m certainly impressed with. I dare say more metal components than others which are comprised of a lot of plastic.
      It’s a solid machine for sure. I’d love to compare it to a cub cadet 3 stage but I’m not buying one to try it out against this one.

    • @bradh74
      @bradh74 6 месяцев назад

      @@doubleahomestead7794 You got the better machine. Cubs are okay but MTD makes them. I don't have a problem with MTD but they're a "value based" manufacturer, so they usually work but not the best,, just less expensive. I would buy an Ariens if I moved to a snowier place but my MTD Troy Built works okay for Me here. If I could do it over I would get an Ariens, Toro or Honda most likely Ariens. The plastic chute works fine and doesn't dent or bend, just looks cheap. The reviews say that the Ariens never plugs and throws slush really well so you can't really beat that. Have a good one.

    Contrary to what a lot of people say, I've had the best luck with Chinese engines. Briggs&Stratton and Honda have both given me plenty of headaches over the years, but the "Powermore" engine I have now has been the most reliable, easy to use/maintain I've had.

    • @doubleahomestead7794

      Thank you very much.
      We have the Comica lapel microphone setup. 2 mics came with it. We had gotten it through Amazon. The camera is a Canon M50.
      If you look back at our video with prepping tomatoes you’ll notice a slight background static. That’s caused by the in camera amplifier for the canon being sub par. So I decreased our volume settings on the camera to about 25 percent and then used the external mic system to boost the audio back up. I spent a bit doing research and messing with settings until I found something that works for us.
      I’m still extremely new to all of this so I wouldn’t take what I do as the right way but it seems to be working for the time being.

    • @doubleahomestead7794
      @doubleahomestead7794  9 месяцев назад +1

      It did pretty well with wet snow. I was surprised. I didn’t have anything that was complete slush though. Just that super wet heavy snow.
      2” maybe 3” not so well as it needs a bit more to get the throw. At least that was my experience. 5-6” is probably where it really starts to perform but being able to tackle the job below 5”.
      Hope that helps.
      I ended last season truly happy that I bought that snowblower. If I could go back, I would buy it again.
      I want to try it out side by side with a 3x cub cadet but I’m not going to buy one just for curiosity purposes.

      @@doubleahomestead7794The Cub Cadet 3x works great but has been nothing but trouble for me. I've had it for 4 years and haven't had a single year that something didn't go wrong. Either a broken cable or belt. Might just be a bad unit but I wouldn't recommend. When it is working it is a power house but unreliable in my experience.

      You’ll like the snowblower. The only thing you may want is a cab to avoid the blowing snow in your face. I decided against it because too many reviews across all manufacturers said it creates an Improper balance making it want to tip back away from its “cutting” edge.

    I have this snowblower. Tried it for the first time yesterday. It bogs down as soon as it gets into snow. All controls are set right and I used fresh gas. This is my second Ariens this winter. I got the 28" 7 weeks ago and returned it to LOWES because it wouldn't run right (backfired, low power, etc.). LOWES gave me this 30" and it also doesn't work. This machine bogs down in the least amount of snow. It's weak and a terrible snowblower. I'm 75 and have owned many snowblowers over the years. The Ariens machines are the worst I've ever seen. Now I have to go back and try to work something out with LOWES.

    • @doubleahomestead7794
      @doubleahomestead7794  6 месяцев назад

      Mine sounds like it’s bogging down but it’s just the engine having a load on it vs no load. It’s not bogging down at all and throws the snow plenty far. Fired it up Thursday night to prepare for the storm. Started first pull and used it today. Worked as it should.
      You sure it’s actually bogging down and not just the difference of it being under load?

    • @jwill9877
      @jwill9877 6 месяцев назад

      I have the 30 inch deluxe and it's a beast of a machine. Mine doesn't bog down but it makes a different sound underload. It throws snow farther the deeper it is. The only thing I didn't like about it was I needed to get the polycarbonate skids and diy some metal plates on the front for added weight. After that the auto turn worked very good. I can clear my driveway, walkways and the backyard swing set for my kids in a half hour.
