Over five decades of of desert riding/racing on two wheels has taught me I can tackle almost anything in the western U.S. or Baja yet…this weeks episode watching narrow stance four wheelers go up this off-camber rough road is the stuff of nightmares. I love riding the Utah, Arizona, New Mexico area yet the thought of purchasing a “razor” in my twilight years has just evaporated. I do not know how you guys do it but I am very glad that you take the time to capture it for all to watch on this channel. Fascinating stuff. Thanks to Matt and everyone involved.
Pro’s and con’s for sure. Able to get down narrower trails, but just don’t have the suspension travel and stability for off camber stuff. An ATV would be a better choice for narrow since you have a better feel and are lower to the ground. The tricked out long travel Razors are just so dang expensive.
@@JimYeats when riding two wheels on a motorcycle off camber does not mean quite the same thing, which is why the poster gave up on the idea of a razor in his twilight years, I am thinking he will be sticking with the motorcycle.
As A guy that rode and made fun of the atv "couch" riders for near 50 years, it was a hard pill to swallow, buying my 1st atv and even harder to admit to my riding buddies. Where I live the utv guys are decimating the trails, riding where they shouldn't be.

@Tristan CooperNo I don't mean it in a reprimanding or critical way, people can and should drive whatever wherever they legally can and have fun, it just amazes me that Matt can get people in their own vehicles out of a dilemma just by getting them to follow his instructions and not what the driver thinks they should be doing. Matt is one hell of a good driver and instructor.
Greetings Matt's Off-Road Recovery, I like watching your recoveries. Have you ever thought about showing the true elevation of angle dissents you are navigating? For example: sturdy level four angle poll connected to Morvair string and tennis ball. Seeing that changes our online perspective. Huggy the Fabricator.
Those tall, narrow razrs look terrifying. I would never take something like that off road where there are any steep drop-offs. I’m constantly surprised how few injuries there are on bad rolls though.
Love all your content! Was wondering if Lizzie had been away lately or because of the holidays and video recording lag. (Same thing I guess). 😅. I love how she shows my daughters that they can do stuff the “men” do and this channel encourages it. Thank you Lizzie for being such a great role model!! 👍👧👍
With the amount of off the bead tires you guys see, maybe an "air bazooka" type of thing would fit great on the WLORW! (I like Warthog, as suggested By Matt)
Very much appreciate the update on the highway construction, have driven the old highway several times. The change is going to be much safer, I kind of liked the twists and turns.
19:24 "Who'd ever thought that this( points at the Morvair) would pull it out" Understanding kinetic energy and how it works makes all the difference. This job would not be possible for the Morvair under the same conditions if a cable or chain was used in place of a nylon rope. Good job as always MORR team.
@@masterbates7016 "What are kinetic ropes made from? Kinetic recovery rope is made from braided nylon, which can stretch, unlike other materials. Nylon is also strong and can be used in a variety of recovery situations. It has two components: An outer sleeve and an inner core."
If I may say Matt, I've been driving more than 60 years and as a driver you make the correct decisions pretty much all the time. You are what driving is all about.. Cheers
Matt I give guys like Rory and Casey Ladelle credit for making it look easy being one person filming and getting the recovery done. I think it was a great thing how you helped that guy who almost rolled in the same spot as the razor you guys really should give some TLC to Tom's truck so he has a working gas gauge and definitely needs lockers on that truck. You didn't have the right rope but you got him out like I knew you would is all that matters
I like the horses in the background just watching the fun. I haven't had to winch our horses out yet and don't need a camera to operate one, we don't allow atv's on the ranch, Matt's OFFroad recovery, we forgot the rope
She also isn't carrying through with doing her job! She's supposed to inventory the vehicles that didn't get done so they didn't have what they would have preferred to use which would have been no longer rope. Also her sitting in the truck with the tires just sitting there spinning in the mud is one of the most stupid things I've ever seen it's actually very destructive to the customers rooms because you are spinning them completely submerged in the mud which is like having sandpaper against it. She just doesn't seem like her normal self doesn't seem like she is as reliable as she used to be and doesn't seem like she's thinking clearly
@Random Dude Yup. Maybe they're just drained. I'm sure putting out videos while building the wrecker in their busy season is tiring. On the other hand, we don't know why so many people have just disappeared from the videos, so that could be related to the change in mood.
You truly believe half an hour of camera work is worth that recovery? Three vehicles and a trailer, multiple people. All needing to be paid for their time?
Hey Matt! I have an idea… you know these trails very well. How about when you give the weather, tell us what type of rig it takes to do the trail you’re going on. Like, “stock jeeps can do this one”, or “you need lockers and 37s on this one”. I think we’d all appreciate that info! And imagine all the comments!
@@masterbates7016 those arent really correct though, you can take a 4runner on 35's and put it up against a suzuki samurai on 31's and the samurai will win every time

This may not be a new comment, meaning that someone probably has pointed it out already, (17:28) BUT, a 30-ft rope has 50% more rope than a 20-ft rope. I own an original first edition 30-ft Matt's Yellow rope for my Jeep and I purchased a 20-ft Yankum for my son's Jeep. Figured that would cover our needs. Flubber and Son of Flubber. Love 'em! 💯

It is amazing to me just how unprepared you guys are in some of your recoveries. I know it makes go good drama but that kind of stuff drives me crazy. The first item is running out of or running low on gas. That should never happen! After each recovery, or on the way back home just top off the tanks to full. Bad habits are hard to break though. The other item is not having the right equipment or enough of it when you go out on a recovery. Checklists and disclipine are the solution.

Maybe the 30’ rope was used on another recovery during that day and was not replaced. Matt said something about it being in another vehicle. Did anybody else wonder why they called Matt when there was a backhoe there? Backhoes can be a great recovery vehicle because you can pick up the truck out of the mud.
As a heavy equipment operator, I have yet to see one that came factory equipped with recovery equipment. There's also a reason why there are no contractors working on that job site. Sadly, this guy has yet to figure out why. Loose soil, heavy rain = thick deep mud.
@@Chris-bh3cm the reason I said this is because I recovered a tractor with a backhoe, but it was bigger machine. I think that they are the handiest thing to have on a farm other than a tractor.
Dear everyone at MORR. I run a small lawn mowing service. I have a truck with a cap that I keep various tools and equipment in. It's a bit crowded, but I have room for something in there that you may want to consider for your business. I carry a couple things we call Gas Cans. You can fill these with gas and then you have extra gas when you need gas. It's like having a little Gas Station with you at all times. You can buy them online and in many brick and mortars. I know it sounds crazy, but they come in handy sometimes.
One more thing. Always always checklist your stuff before every time that you go out. Just gotta say, Matt and his crew do outstand rescue work, all of it conspicuously dangerous or latently dangerous. I need some help understanding their tendencies to failures of preparedness. Think I'll go to the Wrecker Games and ask 'em.

Not when fuel prices fluctuate 20 cents a gallon week to week.
@tumbleweedking5668 if the fuel price goes up, you'd be glad you filled the tank earlier when the price was lower.
Agreed. I will stick with my ZR2, it is no Morrvair but comfortable on the road and a capable off roader.
@@iffykidmn8170 Lol, yes, I understand he has been riding motorcycles for years and was thinking of moving to a UTV. I was expressing that narrow - often budget - UTV’s have pro’s and con’s.
Matt you kill me, you drive everyone's vehicles better than the owners , even by "remote" control. Well done as usual great vid.
@@MrChrissy1r As the saying goes, good decisions come with experience; experience comes from bad decisions... 😁
@5:02
Hey Matt. Can you put that rock back? 😉
🤣😂🤣😂
Imagine doing that trail in a covered wagon! 😱
They were a different breed back then.
no kidding
Those tall, narrow razrs look terrifying. I would never take something like that off road where there are any steep drop-offs.
I’m constantly surprised how few injuries there are on bad rolls though.
There surprisingly stable , but you don’t want to have a high rack on them and a spare tire mounted up there or anything else it really effects the CG
A friend of mine has one. It's actually not bad off road when set up correctly. The issue is when you start putting spare tires and gear on the top
Much love and appreciation from Bulgaria guys. I love watching you vids after work. Can't wait to see the wrecker finished
Bulgaria has the second best whores. Human traffickers union.
So cool to see comments from Matt's international fans, Naruto.
I like the way you repurposed the Corvair stationwagon . My parents had one back in 1967-71

How awesome was that last guy. So appreciative of getting his vehicle out of the mud.
Great to see!
Love all your content! Was wondering if Lizzie had been away lately or because of the holidays and video recording lag. (Same thing I guess). 😅. I love how she shows my daughters that they can do stuff the “men” do and this channel encourages it. Thank you Lizzie for being such a great role model!! 👍👧👍
I've gotta believe that Matt also encourages her, if a man can do that job, she can too, plus she is also becoming an awesome welder in the process.
@@dave_n8pu Lizzy got married recently .That may affect her availability .
@@williameddy3740 I know she did, I also noticed not seeing her as much in the videos to, most likely for the same reason.
Congrats to Lizzie! 🎉
With the amount of off the bead tires you guys see, maybe an "air bazooka" type of thing would fit great on the WLORW! (I like Warthog, as suggested By Matt)
Warthog? MORR-hog.
In this case, it wasn't too clear why they didn't just change the tire. The spare was right there in the top of the cage.
Love the smile on the chevy truck owners face when they got it out
Very much appreciate the update on the highway construction, have driven the old highway several times. The change is going to be much safer, I kind of liked the twists and turns.
I love how you clean up people's trash, and even their crash debris and they often don't even bother.
This alone makes you a King among men sir.
19:24 "Who'd ever thought that this( points at the Morvair) would pull it out"
Understanding kinetic energy and how it works makes all the difference. This job would not be possible for the Morvair under the same conditions if a cable or chain was used in place of a nylon rope.
Good job as always MORR team.
It's not nylon
@@masterbates7016 "What are kinetic ropes made from? Kinetic recovery rope is made from braided nylon, which can stretch, unlike other materials. Nylon is also strong and can be used in a variety of recovery situations. It has two components: An outer sleeve and an inner core."

If I may say Matt, I've been driving more than 60 years and as a driver you make the correct decisions pretty much all the time. You are what driving is all about.. Cheers
Except he doesn't have tire chains for snow and ice.
But he has the bombie.
Fun to see the customers amazed at the capabilities of the equipment and the team, very cool, thanks for sharing
You guys are my absolute #1 channel on youtube, and the first one that I watch from all my 369 other subscriptions. Excellent job!

Love the last rescue. That is what I personally got hooked on watching you guys for.
The horseback riders made my day. The grace they moved along the terrain --as compared to a bucking 4x4 ;-)
Yup, One HorsePower with 4 legged drive..... beats anything, except a donkey or mule.

It was a beautiful sight for sure.
Legs are far better than wheels at rough terrain.

Matt I give guys like Rory and Casey Ladelle credit for making it look easy being one person filming and getting the recovery done.
I think it was a great thing how you helped that guy who almost rolled in the same spot as the razor
you guys really should give some TLC to Tom's truck so he has a working gas gauge and definitely needs lockers on that truck.
Seeing the horses passing by makes me think that riding through that county would be a great way to see it.
Matt for not having the skills to video and recover at the same time you did a damn fine job recording the event until the troops arrived. Well done!
Aww Lizzie looks a little bummed out lately. Hope everything is ok. Haven't used them yet but I'm glad I have my Matt's recovery straps and ropes!
Married now 🤣most people know how that is.
Been thinking this for a few episodes now.
The team just ain't what it used to be.
@@robinhadley They've fallen off a bit ever since Trevor and a lot of others left.
@Random Dude Yup. Maybe they're just drained. I'm sure putting out videos while building the wrecker in their busy season is tiring. On the other hand, we don't know why so many people have just disappeared from the videos, so that could be related to the change in mood.
Blue Steel needs a fuel service tank in it. Would be the most used rescue vehicle.
I look forward to these videos daily. Thanks Matt
Your customer is such a great cameraman, you should keep him on the payroll and I hope he got a free tow because of it!!!

Hello Matt’s off road recovery ❤ big fan , RUclipsr , and subscriber
My RUclips channel name is Willies Comics
Hey Matt! I have an idea… you know these trails very well. How about when you give the weather, tell us what type of rig it takes to do the trail you’re going on. Like, “stock jeeps can do this one”, or “you need lockers and 37s on this one”. I think we’d all appreciate that info! And imagine all the comments!
The trail signage at the beginning of each trail tells you. It will even tell you a minimum tire size
@@masterbates7016 those arent really correct though, you can take a 4runner on 35's and put it up against a suzuki samurai on 31's and the samurai will win every time
@@masterbates7016 most of the trails in that part of Utah don't have much if any signage in my experience. Just gotta know your rig and know when to stop.
Love 'em! 💯
I'm sure someone has already mentioned this but a 30' rope would have 50% more rope than a 20' rope, not 33% Matt!
Sorry, it's the math teacher in me!
LOVE the videos, you do a great job of telling the story with each one. Those stories are what keeps me coming back for more.
Matt is definitely a “Can Do” kinda guy. He might not be the best person for the job but he is going to try harder than anyone until it’s done.
I’d love to pick on him for never listening to his own advice, one but ……
Matt has the biggest heart ❤️ of any goober alive. The way he takes care of his people is heartwarming at the very least. The way he takes care of Ed, far outweighs anything annoying that he does.
Matt’s worth the trouble he brings. Jamie is an absolute angel 👼.
Keep up the mediocre work Matt
I recall a recent episode where Lizzy was saying it was her daily job to do the truck inventory lol
Your keeping her too busy welding all the time!
First day back after vacation.
Hope Matt not gonna have to put that rock back 🤣🤣

Anybody else see that extra wheel on the can am? Could swap it super easy imo, love this channel. You could always just call them side by sides, I do the same tho razors!!
I think that was on the other side by side. It disappeared when you had later shots of the rescued sxs
A great pull with the 20 footer. God bless you all.
The 20' vs the 30'... would the 30' not have 50% more spring?
I am so pumped for the wrecker to be finished and see the showdown of them all.
Tom, you guys need to put transfer pumps on every rig so that you can fuel everything out of the work rig tanks..
Exception diesels !
But how does that support homosexual special rights ?
Well they all are running low so it wouldn't help. Roto packa needs to sponsor them some Jerry cans
Checklists and disclipine are the solution.
be like the fire service or EMTs, a vehicle is never allowed to get below 2/3rds of a tank.

Matt, do you bring first aid or trauma kits when you do these recoveries? it sounds like you are sometimes the first responder to some of these people that go off trails, would be great to know if you try to bring any sort of basic medical supplies to help stranded individuals. thanks!!
And drinking water!
Always a sobering sight for other UTV drivers to come upon another UTV being pulled out of a ravine.
So much for Lizzie doing an inventory every morning as part of her job. 🤪
Maybe the 30’ rope was used on another recovery during that day and was not replaced. Matt said something about it being in another vehicle. Lizzy can have everything in proper order first thing daily then it can all change after the first recovery. During the day it should be the responsibility of the driver.

Just finished opening my 1/64 Morrvair and Banana, thanks for a great addition to my collection!
Something to carry extra gas? That sounds like witchcraft to me!
If they had them they would run out of gas, use them and never refill them again. So what you would have is the vehicle and gas cans out if gas!
Top of list: Enough fuel?
