Hope you didn't hurt yourself too much Matt. Those tumbles don't look bad but jolt every bone in the body. Ed, you're a rock star trying to help Matt up.
Every time I see the Morvair in action I'm amazed of how capable it actually is. What an awesome machine, not to mention the sound! Matt: I hope your fall looked worse than it really was. Best wishes from the Netherlands.
The customer that wants to help and tell you how to do it is always a good time 😂. Also Matt is doing Trevor’s job now cuz he knows we all like to see a good fall
Sometimes it can be frustrating when someone tells a pro how to do their job, but you can't blame them for giving their input, because nowadays the "professionals" are often not as smart as they should be. I'm not talking about Matt, but you can't discredit customers for giving their input because they don't know how good the "pro" is going to be.
This video is full of awesomeness - the crew, family, friends, charity, autographs, Christmas wishes, fast winch install, and man that was incredible to watch you easily climb that second, steep hill. Good thing you had a pintle hook. That hill had to be at least 12-15 feet tall, almost straight up. Wow! So cool.
I never get tired of listening to the Morrvair work hard. Damn it sounds good. Still find it hard to believe it can do what it does so well. Amazing build, amazing crew, even if someone occasionally ends up on their keister. Take care.
Can't wait to see how well the redesign for the trailer works. What's funny is Matt said y'all would give the trailer love later but for us it was earlier. I give y'all credit running the channel and doing everything youse guys do throughout the day. Edit* credit to Matt sometimes the customers "help" isn't that helpful. This guy wasn't the worst at all though
I am still amazed at how well you your able to maneuver thru such rough terrain pulling a trailer loaded with heavy off road vehicles. great job Mat and team.
That Morrvair is something else. Obstacles with a recovery on tow - No Problem. 54 years old and my ladder pulled a fast one on me a few months ago. I did not fall but I landed awkward. Takes a long time for that pain to go away the older we get. Ed helping wherever he can even if its small little things is testimony of the type of person he is. Be careful Matt. Merry Christmas from South Africa to all of the Recovery crew. Thanks for a year of great entertainment so far.
Hopefully Matt didn't get hurt too bad, but someone had to do it. Since Trevor isn't there anymore.. Like others here mentioned, that morvair pulling that trailer up those rocks and terrain is just awesome!! Cool stuff and Matt's attitude is always top notch. Thanks for your videos and sharing your adventures.
It's funny cause the last Trail Mater video I watched Mike was filming and he fell down pretty hard and then yelled "TREVER!!!" I laughed really hard at that!!! Trevor and Skeeter will be missed, but I wouldn't be surprised if they popped up somewhere with their own Towing or Off Road recovery service!!!!

Although never needed surgery, I've had my share of back issues and I know they're no fun. Hopefully you're doing better after all your surgeries. And Matt, hopefully you're ok, take it easy after falling.
Having suffered so many concussions myself. Legitimately losing days of my life to memory loss… I’m teetering on the fence of scared and impressed watching Matt wheel that unit out of there. He seemed totally fine… I worked two shifts at a papa Murphy’s as a manager and no one noticed but I was stuck in a loop at home. Had photo evidence of my shenanigans and still for almost 3 days hit the reset button and asked the same 4 questions. Actually coming to is burned into my memory, the worry and forced laughs of my bestie, brother and father. Harsh.
One suggestion with the stanchion for the winch. Put a secondary lug under the winch so you can run quad lines out to whatever you're pulling in. It should help with winch longevity.
@@ddt6352 and you had to be rude, man if you watched his channel you would know he already made a video covering the build of this winch mount and even talked about winch longevity in a different video about the wrecker.
Two things. First, Matt, everyone in his crew, and all the others who do rescue work - everybody from civilian medevac flight nurses, search and rescue, ski patrol, urban EMS, and others - deserve that the rest of us stand and sing their praises. Their hard-earned skill, the risks, their injuries, hospitalizations, and - yes - fatalities make them true heroes, an accolade to which they say 'just doing my job'. Second, in some cases, sympathy for those who are rescued is deserved. But for many others, not so much.
I am not overly religious, BUT GOD BLESS YOU PEOPLE for all you do on and especially off the recovery trails. I grew up in a very abusive home and it’s good to know there are more resources available to families. My family and I are doing great now. Stay safe everyone!
I hope you heal quickly from the fall Matt. The Morrvair after all the videos I’ve watched of it and in use, it still is an amazing recovery vehicle absolutely exquisite !
While watching you climb out with the Morrvair I realised we have seen you refine and hone your recovery setup to perfection. Like watching a kid grow up in real time you don't notice it day by day, but there are moments you suddenly realise how far they've come. That vehicle, the tandem trailer which is the perfect size and has perfect tyre pressures. You just idled through and up those obstacles as smooth as butter.
I can imagine the customer of the RZR running along side Matt as he’s about to pull the trailer with the RZR up that steep incline saying “Get to the left, get to the right, give a little gas” lol what a customer. Matt has the best composure and patience 🙏🏼
Thought I was the only one annoyed by him. Like damn pops! You've already done enough by flipping over. 🤦♂ Step aside and let the guys do what they do before you get charged double.

Matt hope u are ok. Older one gets the more it hurts when you fall. Fell the other day from the back of a pickup that had a trailer hooked up to it, dont worry my shin broke my fall across the trailer tongue, thought I broke my leg.

Dang Matt..... I felt that all the way up in Michigan. I'm glad you're ok.... may take a few days before you feel the full effect of that fall. Ouch.... Be careful brother.
And it went well, friend it could be very serious. You should line the platforms of the trailer with non-slip, both for when you load the rubberized tires of the cars and for you when you pass those boots.❤️👍
I’ve rode Steve incredible driver , he built rear steer machine , had 4 door turbo S on rear airbags no radius arms . Glad He’s ok and Matt , both are local legends in Hurricane .
Plenty of folks in here who could use a lesson on respect and hearing people out even if you think you know best. Thank you, Matt, for providing that! Ultimately one person needs to be in charge for something like this, but it doesn't mean others don't have good input to offer.
I was about to comment again and say that it must be so much easier when not just the owner but his mates are more than competent to assist in both the planning and execution of the recovery when Matt said as much himself. Those guys had a plan ready by the time Matt arrived and it was a good one.
I find it amassing all the self taught engineering that you've put into the Movair, to accomplish your recoveries. , Especially this one where you and the trailer are almost vertical climbing rocks to escape that gully , with ease , not once did I notice your wheels spinning on the rocks , Cliff Please Stay Healthy
I’m glad to see that you put that Corvair to good use. I remember seeing it when I moved here back in 1980. I believe you made a great awesome off Roading vehicle. Go morvair!!!
Pretty sure it existed as a Corvair since we'll before 80. Pretty sure Matt showed where it sat when he told the story, not with a pin or anything, but a local would probably know. He definitely told the story of it sitting somewhere since he was a kid and wanting to acquire it to build.

@@harrywhiterow2782 I get that but thats not my point. no, it's not only about what someone wants to do. There are annoying little things like what you can't do and shouldn't do that get in the way and there are a lot of people that are trying to take those things where they shouldn't and physically can't, no matter how badly they want to. I see it all the time on youtube and irl. People taking things where they don't belong and being in reasonable people's way. Like driving down a road that's clearly indicating they shouldn't be trying and then having to back up or turn around but as indicated, they don't know their limitations so now they're stuck blocking traffic. It's great when they pay someone to help them but a lot of the time it's decent people that get stuck wasting their time, risking themselves and their equipment so they can get through. There has always been large pull behinds and RVs, what's changed is the affordability and where people think they can take them.

Hope you got over that fall okay, Matt. Just want to thank you for all your fantastic videos. They bring me so much pleasure and I really love those great dogs. Happy Christmas from the UK!
Just a thought for the winch power.. on my truck (I use a receiver mounted winch so I can shift it between my trailer, and truck) I've run 1/0 to my rear bumper and front bumper. I made a 1/0 8' extension with winch quick disconnects on each side. That way I can power my winch from my truck battery/alt. I used to have a battery hard wired into my trailer tool box, but I found more so in the winter it wasn't getting charged enough to winch anything. I also made a 2" 1/0 clamp cable I can plug into the 8' extension to use for boosting... I can boost of the front or rear of my truck, with a HO alt and a big battery I've boosted cars, truck and cranes.
Matt all I can say after this episode is well done. That razer recovery would have challenged my patience. You sir are a person to look up to for so many people. Looking forward to getting my midnight Morrvair! Thank you so much for helping out the dove center. That is a cause very close to my heart. I feel very blessed to be able to help. Thank you for giving us all the opportunity and for bringing the cause to light. Merry Christmas!
Have you thought about building an A frame so you can winch over the top of it and lift vehicles as you pull on them? It seems pulling up would break suction, avoid pulling against the mud and make it easier to get onto a trailer at times. In Florida, our mud suction makes a big difference when trying to break it free.
Good Lord you have more patience than I do. I work for a public utility and when someone steps up and tries to tell me how to do my job I’ve been doing this for 32 years I put my tools back in the truck and just drive away and tell them you know so much about it you can fix it yourself.

Guy is obviously used to being in charge and making the big decisions all his life, probably a very successful business owner is my guess. Matt did great working with him while maintaining his command of the situation and also recognizing the customer’s competence, utilizing his need to be in the middle of things - which, as far as we can see on the edited final product, worked out just fine. There may have been some tensions behind the scenes, but I’m very sure Matt handled it professionally. He’s a rare type of guy who doesn’t get his chest puffed up around pushy guys, he just gently and firmly steers things the way they need to go.

Your Morrvair is the definition of a rig set up perfectly for retrieval!! You made climbing those two vertical walls look like a Sunday drive!! I'm not an off road guy, more of a fast street truck type, but Holy cow the way you drive that moorvair is nothing short of impressive!!!
I have to admit it Matt the force of your fall scared me. So, so glad you are ok. Thanks for the great videos. Good job on your patience with the customer who only wanted to help. Too many these days would not have been so patient. 👍
The fact that Matt just made a Pitch Meeting reference at 1:14 fills my heart with joy. Watching Matt's Off Road Recovery is tight!
I had to scroll far too far down to find the Pitch Meeting comment.
Yeah yeah yeah
Well ok then
@@charlieyoung2116 I'm going to need you to get all the way off my back now
Wow wow wow wow... wow.
I hope we get to see the aftermath, there must be some bruises!
@@calebbyers Oh definetly. Been there few times where guy comes to help, but he needs help himself

Love hearing that LS in low gear just pulling.them cooling fans are working
Got to love it when the customer thinks he knows how to do your job better than you do.
NO I reject your opinion I won't be able to continue and operate the same as I have been...I refuse refuse to accept that
Hopefully Matt didn't get hurt too bad, but someone had to do it. Since Trevor isn't there anymore.. Like others here mentioned, that morvair pulling that trailer up those rocks and terrain is just awesome!! Cool stuff and Matt's attitude is always top notch. Thanks for your videos and sharing your adventures.
Where did Trevor and Skeeter go? Been missing them
It's funny cause the last Trail Mater video I watched Mike was filming and he fell down pretty hard and then yelled "TREVER!!!" I laughed really hard at that!!!
Trevor and Skeeter will be missed, but I wouldn't be surprised if they popped up somewhere with their own Towing or Off Road recovery service!!!!
Ok, now we have a fall token every video
@@xXxWill25xXx Matt said in another video, and I'm paraphrasing, "They had an opportunity and moved on but they are all family. It was not due to drama or anything."
just another one of those moments where the performance of the morvair just has me in awe. that thing is built to perfection, sounds AMAZING, and is extremely capable of almost any job. truly a remarkable machine you built Matt, i never get tired of seeing it work
12:47 only at that point did I realize how steep that terrain was!!! :O And boy what a fall and what luck that was! Glad you got out of it more or less unharmed, that could have ended very differently!
Way to go Matt that recovery must of really hurt the next day. You and your crew always do a great job with great attitudes. I really found that my own customers no matter how bad things seam they respond well with a positive put look. Great job.
Hats off to Lizzie for backing that monstrosity of a trailer back onto the road, even with the Morvair pulling. Thanks for the video.

Ed is truly a loyal friend, it’s in his nature to do what he can…
Matt, your a tough son of a gun.. I fell off a dry docked sailboat at your age, and three back surgeries later, I'm able to get around. You will feel that fall in the morning. Hope your ok. Love what your doing and all of the entertainment. Your my #1 channel. Thank you .
Although never needed surgery, I've had my share of back issues and I know they're no fun. Hopefully you're doing better after all your surgeries. And Matt, hopefully you're ok, take it easy after falling.
you're and your do not mean the same thing
Having suffered so many concussions myself. Legitimately losing days of my life to memory loss… I’m teetering on the fence of scared and impressed watching Matt wheel that unit out of there.
He seemed totally fine… I worked two shifts at a papa Murphy’s as a manager and no one noticed but I was stuck in a loop at home. Had photo evidence of my shenanigans and still for almost 3 days hit the reset button and asked the same 4 questions. Actually coming to is burned into my memory, the worry and forced laughs of my bestie, brother and father. Harsh.
It's so fun when a customer tries to tell you how to get them out of their own jam. You have the patience and professionalism of a true saint, Matt!
One suggestion with the stanchion for the winch. Put a secondary lug under the winch so you can run quad lines out to whatever you're pulling in. It should help with winch longevity.
Its only built to haul those small toys.
Also, trust me. Matt is the last person you need to give winch advice to
@@ddt6352 and you had to be rude, man if you watched his channel you would know he already made a video covering the build of this winch mount and even talked about winch longevity in a different video about the wrecker.
What is a "secondary lug" and what is a "quad line"? I've been jeeping for over 40 years and never heard these terms.

Perfection?

Matt hope u are ok. Older one gets the more it hurts when you fall. Fell the other day from the back of a pickup that had a trailer hooked up to it, dont worry my shin broke my fall across the trailer tongue, thought I broke my leg.
Matt how you got up from that fall amazes me at my age and health, I probably wouldn't be able to get up. Thank all of you at morr.
Matt, you looked like you fell through a trap door. Hope you're OK. As always, it's a pleasure to watch you folks work.
It didn't exist back in 1980 lol, he made a build series on this channel
I'm mean, maybe as a normal chevy corvair
Pretty sure it existed as a Corvair since we'll before 80. Pretty sure Matt showed where it sat when he told the story, not with a pin or anything, but a local would probably know. He definitely told the story of it sitting somewhere since he was a kid and wanting to acquire it to build.
@@AJNpa80 yeah, as a corvair. Not the moorvair lol. All that's left of it is the body. But it's really cool that you saw it!

I just can't get over the luxury so many seem to think they need when they are 'camping'.
It makes no sense to me. I've spent many nights camping in the middle of nowhere, without even a tent. Although tents are good for keeping mosquitoes from waking you up all night long - lol.
Same here. I've a background in backpacking, though it's been a few years.
There's a difference between overlanding, camping and RVing it all depends on what you want to do
@@harrywhiterow2782 I get that but thats not my point. no, it's not only about what someone wants to do.
Don’t look at it as camping, it’s bringing a hotel room with you to a remote location. Different strokes for different folks.
Ok…..I’ve watched you guys for a few yrs. But this was the most impressive recovery yet. Can’t believe how the morevair took those rock hills without slipping while pulling a trailer with a payload. Very impressive!!!

Oh my God! Morvair is a beast!! I love the Morvair, i had a jeep cherokee 4x4 and i loved it, but I’m in love with the Morvair.
"super easy, barely an inconvenience" love that guy.
Matt all I can say after this episode is well done. That razer recovery would have challenged my patience. You sir are a person to look up to for so many people.

16:40. Dang now thats impressive. I must of missed the episode where you guys added lights to the underbody
Watching Matt's videos as soon as the notification pops up is super easy, barely an inconvenience. 😁

That old man fought you every step of the way! You had so much to look out for, even Ed placed himself in danger, and I know you caught that and that had to of weighed on you! What a day you put in Matt, not to be trite, but the bigger you are the harder you fall!Nothing's worth you getting hurt friend!
That was a hard fall Matt, I am glad you are ok! Take care and Merry Christmas to you and family!
