that made my wiring look so flippin easy. I'll never complain about wiring a van again lol. My brain still aches after watching this, Sam 😄 As ever, much respect🙏- Kenny
I just got the ac1200 tell me more about the Dual panel set......... so what I'm thinking is you can have one panel on the dash and maybe one control panel in the back of the RV is that correct
Another great video, mate! Easy to follow and obviously a well though out product! Oh how I envy you. All that room in the A-pillars and the dash, where everything in my Crafter is filled with air bags. But, when I am at that stage, I'll have to find a way to fit one - perhaps a smaller 6-gang unit. Will the relay unit for the 6-gang setup be smaller or just less populated than the 12-gang unit? Do all Auxbeam switch panels feature remote controls? Thanks for taking the time to do the video and cheers from across the pond! 🚐☁🍀
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife In a minute, my friend. Unfortunately, the local authorities will not certify the roadworthiness without the factory equipped balloons on the next due date in July... 🙄
Thanks for this really useful video 👍 Quick question, have you taken this off your vehicle battery? If so is it ok to take straight from the battery rather than a feed activated by the ignition? It doesn’t have a constant load on it does it? Thanks for your help
I've taken the supply from the starter battery with a switch live to the internal contact so the panel will only work when the engine is running. That way, we have no flat battery issues
Hey, great video. Do you know if you can wire a remote switch to power on an off an inverter. You may be familiar with the Renogy brand inverters. I have a 2000w pure sine wave inverter that came with a remote on off switch. I was wondering if there’s any way it can be connected to the auxbeam switch to have all my controls in one location.
Great question, there is an 8 gang controller Why not check out auxbeam.com/products/8-gang-wireless-remote-control-for-ra84-switch-panel?_pos=14&_sid=2cd37d14a&_ss=r
I have the 6 switch - its a pain in the ass as you cant turn off the light unless you turn off everything then whats the point of having a swtich in the van
@@antmck33 Well - you can turn off and on say your light bar - that has a small light to say its on or off, you can turn the whole panel off - each button has a backlight - thats on all the time, unless the swtich itself is turned off. So my scenario is this - i use that in my van, i have the switch setup with my fridge, usb, lights etc. The whole thing is lit up all the time - unless i use a toggle swtich to turn it off - which means turning everything off so it can be dark at night. So then i cant get up in the night and just flick a switch for a light - i have to toggle the Auxbeam back, then press the lights button - then turn the light on. So the two options is (even if the backlight is turned all the way down - and the instructions say something about it will self dim - it doesnt) - leave it on - let it light up the van all the time, or add a toggle relay to turn it off in the middle - which is what Auxbeam support suggested
Something I just learned you can get a rough country single remote control and transmitter and wire it into the 12 volt accessory line with a diode so it doesn't backfeed into the the ignition system or accessory..... so you can use the single switch remote to completely turn off the power to everything and then it's drawing a very tiny amount of voltage then you hit the single switch key fob and it energizes the control panel..... say you're in bed and you don't want to get up and walk to the control panel to shut it down you just hit the single remote it turns off the accessory powered to the control panel then if you want to turn something on you use the remote to energize the control panel and then you have your 12 gang switch fully at your disposal from bed
Sam, I do enjoy your videos, but please stop referring to DC negative as earth or ground, you are a qualified electrical engineer and you know it's wrong and misleading. There are a few self builders making a right hash of wiring. So now I'll just get on with enjoying your vids👍
Hi Sam, Thanks for the video, I had a reply from Auxbeam refer the labels, They’ve sent me a PDF on making and printing your own labels, If you drop me your email address I’ll send it to you if you want it 👍
Probably the best video of fitting an Auxbeam controller! Great video mate !
Cheers Rob I appreciate that mate 🫶😊
I was too lazy to read the manual so thanks for showing me how to pair the remote control to the unit

I got the dual panel set from Auxbeam. Such a simple system to fit and I would highly recommend anyone who's just starting to build to go buy one.
😊👍
So simple to use

@deddie4645 that's exactly correct. You can turn something on in the cab then go in the back and turn it off, and visa versa

just throw the air bags away and fit a resistor then you will have lots of room

Hi Thank you for the nice review Can I control the intensity of the lighting, make it dim or strong?
O don't believe that's a function but you can dim the panel light
My heads spinning but great video as usual, can you remind me of the link for the rear wheel table please.thanks
sorry I've just seen this I believe I've just answered this on another post
Cheers, all the best. 👍🚐😎
Thanks, you too!
I have the 8 gang will the remote work with that and can you purchase the remote on its own
Same here. Can we upgrade to the 12 gand reusing the remote wiring? Mine is behind the cladding.

The 12 gang switch panel only fits the 12 gang control I believe
Great vid pal. Do you have a link to purchase in U.K. thanks👍🏻

that sounds like its not wired correctly,

Its on their website - print off stickers, put tape on that - stick them on. Their stickers are so expensive and not directed towards van building
