Hi Diane thank you for bringing joy and positivity in your gorgeous podcasts. You always make me smile 😊.Your sweater is beautiful.Have a lovely week, happy knitting 🧶🌺
@@theislandlamb Even though there is not much summer to brag about here in Norway, I have summer tops on the needles. Right now it's the Tankar tee and tonight top 🌸🧶
Thanks for the mini tour it’s so nice to see a place from a resident’s perspective. It’s a beautiful island. And your sweater is BEAUTIFUL!! Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks for reminding me of the Elin hilderbrand Nantucket series. Wonderful summer reads, will pull them out and start on no 1 and get into the island spirit without having to travel. Enjoyed your episode immensely, thanks for that and happy knitting
I have just found your podcasts and I love them. It’s lovely to see where you live, and your garden. I live in the southern hemisphere,so it’s been pretty cool here so plenty of knitting. I love your Ingrid sweater ❤
Thank you, Diane, for another wonderful podcast. Your detailed review of the Ingrid is helpful for anyone considering this. I enjoyed the herb suggestions- I've been watching my lavender & oregano flowers for when to pick and what to do with them!
Here in Texas, it's birthday month. Mine, and both grand-daughters. So- it's BBQ and play in the pool time. The Heat is insane, but we know it's going to be here for a few months, so we cope! No hydrangeas for us though! It's cactus all the way!
Lovely episode! My yard and herbs etc are growing like weeds here in Plymouth. I’ve lost count of how much pesto I’ve made so far! I knit the Cloud Sweater by Petite Knit earlier this year and it won’t be my last Petite Knit - now understand the devotion! I’m thinking the Esther Cardigan. I’m also a Knit Companion devotee BTW. Happy July ( so lucky it’s my birthday month!)
Hi Diane: Thanks for another awesome podcast! Love to go Rhode Island again and visit the ferry you mentioned. However, is not in the card this year. We flew to Washington in a 96 degree heat wave day and rented a car to go to Maryland which turned out to be a series of uneventful events. Thankfully, it was a three day trip. I never had luck growing lavender. They always died. This year I decided to try it again. It was doing good for a week or so, until the heat occurred and it all died. I was careful not to water it too much, which I had done in the past. I event added soil that will wick away extra water, no luck. This year my basil was literally killed by some of tiny critters. It never in years past. So I salvaged whatever was left by moving it up the deck and is doing ok. I was hoping to make pesto this year, but there’s not enough. Maybe I’ll buy more basil since I still have a whole month or so left to grow. My grape tomatoes, figs, mint, and hibiscus are doing great. I have been in a knitting funk which I hardly experience in the past. I’ve purchased a few summer patterns and yarn but the yarn I have is just not the right ones for spring/fall sweaters unfortunately. The dog days of nothing but heat and really hot does not motivate me to want to knit sweaters. I’ve knitted some wash clothes here and there! Wishing you and your family a restful, relaxing, and awesome summer! Happy knitting and stay cool!❤
Hi there, yes this heat is tough on so many plants. Some years everything looks great others years it’s a bust. It’s also hard to get inspired to knit when it’s hot. We just have to go with it and surrender. Our creativity is rebuilding and before we know it’ll be back. Lazy days of summer. Enjoy
I have found you don't need to begin a sewn bind-off with the full compliment of yarn thread that you will need, especially its it's a large number of stitches. I just begin with 24-36 inches, sew till there's enough left to wrap on the inside of the ribbing, down a knit column. then I begin with a new yarn thread, wrap it up the other side of that column, and carry on. I enjoyed your herb discussion. I have done all you mentioned, but no longer have my lavender, and do so miss that harvest ritual. I never thought of using dried oregano flowers. I usually try to harvest before it flowers. I guess I don't have worry about that! Do you dry your hydrangea blossoms? Do they hold the blue?
I absolutely love your podcasts! Thank you for the beautiful glimpse into where you live!

Hi Linda and thank you for your tip! I have dried hydrangeas however I find they do fade. I have silk hydrangeas I display after the season is over.
