  • In the ever-evolving landscape of electric vehicles (EVs), a storm is brewing, and it's about to hit harder than anyone expected. Buckle up as we delve into the shocking revelations and unexpected turns that are steering the EV market into one of the most significant crises it has ever faced. Whether you're an EV owner or just a curious onlooker, this is a journey you don't want to miss.
Picture this: a market flooded with EVs, from sleek Teslas to powerful Fords, and yet, consumers are turning away. In the United States alone, EVs are languishing in dealer lots, with thousands of units waiting for buyers who never come. By 2030, automakers globally have pledged a staggering $616 billion exclusively for EVs. This year witnessed the production and shipment of nearly 1 million EVs to dealer lots. However, an unexpected twist has turned this promising scenario into one of the most significant auto disasters in recent history.

Industry must stop a sales focus on “green” and focus on FUN! Having owned Porsche’s, Audi’s, and Continentals, I call my Lyriq 600e4 my “so, so” car. So smooth, so quiet, so powerful, so smart, so relaxing (in SuperCruise mode), and so much fun!

As a car guy I love EV’s it’s just way way too expensive to consider at the moment. The fact that I don’t have to worry about an oil change is a Win.

One creator of bad will toward EV’s is forcing an EV on a car renter. EV’s have specific use cases. EV owners have researched travel plans and charging stations. A renter with no EV orientation WILL have a bad experience after renting. I hear so many horror stories from renters at charging stations.

After January 1st the $7500 tax incentive comes off the vehicle price at the dealer where now it is a tax credit. This late in the year that is enough of a reason to wait.

I'm sure the crazy high interest rates have nothing to do with it.

The traditional car makers need to have their own Battery factory to avoid to be a hostage from an external supplier and reduce battery cost while increase the range, EVs are the future if we want leave a better planet to our Children

EVs need to come down in price to get the market penetration needed, in addition to the need to build out the support infrastructure.

Healthy supply of Lyriq in metro Detroit, and they don't seem to be moving, so if anyone wants one....they're here. They'll probably start throwing more money on the hood soon.

GM never really gave EV's a real chance. C'mon, the Chevy Volt? Really?

What a load of crap. EV sales have boomed this year, why are they showing a graph of price drop from 2022 to now. This graph has nothing to do with sales.
OMG, 'these videos always carry on about range, charging, it's all a smoke screen. These were issues years ago, but of course they keep pushing this. They never really mention home charging, plug in in the evening and unplug in the morning, how easy is that not hard. But for some people it could be difficult.
You mention cars sitting in lots, but for ICE cars you go back to 21, EV's now in 23 are selling very well. Just wait when these greedy oil and fuel companies push their price up again, in the near future America will see $10 a gallon like here in Australia, then we will see EV sales sky rocket.

When they make decent affordable EV’s they’ll struggle to build enough. Market is saturated at the higher end as far fewer buyers and Tesla are way ahead of the market. It’s not that people don’t want them, it’s more they don’t have $50k plus to buy one…

Total BS story.......Tesla steadily increases output 40---50% Yearly.........Lowered their price because They could....Because of faster/lower cost of production.............Sky High interest rates will slow everything........A $60k EV at 8% will cost $100k to pay off................Paul

Inventory of GM EVs is still very small. The Chevy Bolt in both versions is around in small supply. Shopping for new Cadillacs and Chevrolets finds little to choose from. The electrics are still not floored at dealers. Shopping around southern California has turned up almost nothing to go and see, touch, sit in and even test drive. A few Lyriq's have been around with dealer markups to the MSRP. So, to say the EV market is crashing must be limited to Tesla and perhaps Ford. When will GM realize the new car buyer wants to choose from a variety in inventory and not order and wait months for their purchase. And so, it is still wait and see.
