Thank you so much very informative! I have a cousin that has fallen away from the Catholic church. One of his comments: "So, I was in the Knights when I went through my whole "Dark night of the Soul"... The more I looked at religious teachings , the more I found that I didn't believe in them. Adam & Eve, the church still preaches that, Noah (that's silly and a lot of incest if you even get past the fact of 2 of every creature...) The fact that most of the teachings in the New Testament are from Paul, and if you take just what Christ taught, you have a very thin book. I believe that Christ was a real person, who basically taught us how to get a long with your fellow man and co exist peacefully. Paul and all of the rest of the contradictory stuff in the N.T. just adds dogma. I don't believe in an afterlife, especially one where everyone is hanging out with all the rest of their relatives from way back, through all eternity. That to me sounds scary.I believe you get 1 shot at life, and all I want to do is in my own small way, is help the human race take a step forward, through kindness, charitable deeds, however. My biggest problem with God is the whole "Love me and worship me, or burn in hell forever."

@@nathanielharvey2050 I am just saying Taylor Marshall starts things and when the Catholic talk show or Bishop Barron or Tim Gordon say things about him is that their is context why they shade him. He then plays victim why are they talking about me? If you read Paul of all people he called out many leaders in his own church even St Peter do it’s nothing new in that context so church disagreements are played out in public read the fathers they disagreeing with each other and calling each names in house disagreements are not new. I think the Twitter spat happened a month ago these guys wanted to debate him he then blocked them. So very brave of him.
From Acts 9, after Paul's encounter with Jesus and his baptism from the disciple Ananias, Paul stayed for 'several days' in Damascus with Jesus' disciples before his preaching to the Gentiles; During his encounter with Jesus, Jesus told him "... you will be told what you are to do." And Jesus told Ananias, "Go, for he is an instrument whom I have chosen to bring my name before Gentiles and kings and before the people of Israel." From Galatians 1 Paul states also his mission after his encounter with Jesus is to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles immediately, and he did not confer to other ministers, and did not go to the Apostles before some time had passed. My take is Paul did not act according to his own direction because he saw the Lord and took everything on his own, he was baptized by a member of the Church who had authority, Ananias, and was given instructions to preach to the Gentiles as his ministry from both Jesus directly and the Church, and I believe Paul was instructed about the breaking of the Bread, a.k.a. Eucharist (as can be seen in 1 Corinthians 11 about his teaching on the Eucharist that he learned from the Lord) either from the Lord directly or from Ananias and other disciples in Damascus before Paul began his mission, because the breaking of the Bread or Eucharist is the most central aspect of the Church from the beginning; Jesus and the disciples would not let go Paul without him knowing this very core of the teachings of Christ; so I believe strongly that Paul ministered the Holy Eucharist to the Gentiles before his meeting with the other Apostles.

By the Holy Spirit Christ pressed Paul in saving his beloved children. Paul pressed himself in perseverance so much he became a loving slave for Christ and his people. Giving over his own rights of his will and now follows God's will. As Christ Paul turns over himself for the love of God and his people. Paul walks in the steps of Christs journey all the way to life everlasting
Saint Paul converted a lot of people more than he imagined. Thousands overnight. As an evangelist speaking to a multitude in different places, he tend to speak in 'motherhood' statements. Like a coach motivating his team "we will win this game!" In his case, "Believe in Jesus and you will be saved!". Most protestant believers take his word literally (that's easy!), thus disregarding some of the sacraments Christ instituted. My mom used to coax " study hard, child, you'll have a better life". I did, finished my course, struggled to find suitable job afterwards. Better life came decades after. It wasn't easy.
This thing about going to Arabia. Could it have been symbolic since in the same letter he identifies Arabia with Mt. Sinai? As if saying "I came from the old covenant to Christianity"? Or is it supposed to echo Elijah and later Jesus spending time in the desert as if it is part of their training?

@@Joshharrison224 currently I am reading with Fr Mike Schmitz from the Adventure Bible RSV. However, I have several that I read from at various times, for varied reasons. I have The Jerusalem Bible, the NAB, and I also have a (Protestant) NIV. I like to compare the translations occasionally. This particular verse, for example (v18), IMO is best from The Jerusalem Bible : “People like that are not slaves of Jesus Christ, they are slaves of their own appetites, confusing the simple-minded with their pious and persuasive arguments.” Pious and persuasive being key words to this topic. Another difference is the NIV uses “naive” in place of simple- minded, which is probably more true, people are seldom what we consider “simple minded” but are often “naive”. That answer was probably more than you wanted!😁
Is publicly tweeting to a Bishop the boast that you’d bet you have prayed more for the Pope than all of the priests in a diocese combined not pharisaical? Because that’s the kind of thing Taylor Marshall has done and why we made that comment.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the "rich young man - whom Jesus loved" ? He had failed, and knew he had failed. My candidate is Saul of Tarsus. The psychology is right, and he had the resources and time to listen to Jesus himself. When Jesus was crucified, he may have felt that his failure was justified. In one letter he says ..."Jesus whom WE knew in the flesh" ... Of course, this can neither be proved nor disproved.
Let me remember one of our Pope. What's assassinated? He didn't? Die but he was wounded. The one that did that. Went to prison for think it was 19 years. In addition warriors and Turkey. The Pope came down to the prison to see him any Ashley forgave Him That's speaks to me. I need to forgive other people when they do things to me. The Pope showed mercy.
Actually, Paul and Barnabas brought the matter of circumcision to the Church. It was Peter the rock and sole key holder, who stood up and put an end to all the debating at the council in Jerusalem, since Scripture alone could, as Peter authoritatively ruled circumcision of the Flesh was no longer necessary, even though Holy Scripture said that it was. James then confirms Peter's declaration and simply gives food and sexual restrictions. Paul rebuked Peter for not wanting to offend the circumcised party. The same Paul who later had Timothy circumcised as to not offend the circumcised party! Ironic! In the end, Peter and Paul are God's coworkers!
I always thought Stephen died about a year after Jesus's crucifixion and St. Dismas is actually the first Saint and Martyr because he died recognizing Christ.

One unfortunate thing about Paul, a lot of churches have actually tried to make Paul a co-savior along with Jesus. They pay only preliminary lip service to Jesus, but it's really all about Paul for them. This unfortunate state of affairs in churches stems from the erroneous belief in Dispensationalism, the false belief that Jesus came as savior to the Jews and that Paul as savior to the gentiles. So it actually makes a co-savior out of Paul. And I don't think that Paul ever claimed any status as co-savior himself, but several churches have invented it, have dreamed it up, and continue to build on this fantasy. (What's the source of this? I'm not sure, maybe it's anti-semitism, the idea that Gentiles have to have a separate savior other than Jesus, who was a Jew? But Paul was also a Jew, a Pharisee. So I'm at a loss as to why so many churches want to substitute Paul for Jesus. Maybe they feel Paul broke away more with Judaism than Jesus?) This false belief of Dispensationalism further leads to the error of the pre-trib rapture theory. Jesus himself jokes a little sarcastically about Dispensationalism, which he knew ahead of time would occur, when he asks a gentile woman who wants his help about this belief that he had come to be savior only to the Jews, and that others could be likened to dogs. Jesus came to save everybody, Jews, Gentiles, and even the dogs. I don't think there should be any mistake about it. Jesus is our only savior. The writings of Paul are not an improvement and have added nothing to what Jesus taught. They do repeat and amplify Jesus' teachings but do not improve upon them. The value of Paul's life story is that he was a "tare," a Kenite, and that even these people are eligible for salvation, and can be used by God, if they accept Christ as savior.
You won’t find these 2 different gospels in Catholicism. Paul epistles are viewed through the gospels Paul is the theologian Jesus is the I Am of Paul’s theology and the lens of everything Paul’s sees. In evangelical circles Paul is for the Church age. Jesus was for his 3 year ministry his age is on pause and then the rapture happens and Jesus brings in the Jewish age where he fulfills everything he failed to do the first time around. Downright bizarre.
@@lilwaynesworld0 I agree you won't find these 2 different Gospels in Catholicism, and you won't find the erroneous extension of Dispensationalism, that is, the pre-trib rapture, in Catholicism either. Agree, too, that it's in evangelical circles where these mistakes are made. But it's a problem because this ridiculous idea of Paul's being some kind of improvement on Jesus is spreading to most other protestant churches, as well. You describe very well their ridiculous views: as Jesus' three-year ministry "on pause," as the pre-trib "rapture happens," and Jesus "brings in the Jewish age," where he "fulfills everything he failed to do." Catholicism has never put Jesus' ministry on pause, does not teach the pre-trib rapture, does not teach of a "Jewish age," and does not teach that Jesus needs to fulfill everything he "failed" to do. Jesus didn't fail at anything. Jesus' ministry is not "on pause," the very fact that many Jews are coming to believe in him in this age illustrates this. Paul is not an improvement on Jesus, nor is he a co-savior for separate parts of the population. Nor did Paul ever claim to be a co-savior. In one Biblical incident, the people of one village wanted to worship him, but Paul told them not to. Jesus is the only savior that anybody has. This whole idea of Paul as co-savior was entirely invented by the Dispensational movement. If Paul had never existed, Jesus' teachings and the job that Jesus did would be complete. Jesus does not need Paul to complete Jesus works. I don't even think that Paul even succeeded in conveying Jesus' complete teachings accurately, particularly Paul's views on women, which have alienated a great percentage of the population against Christianity. No one has ever done more for women that Jesus Christ. I'm talking about many incidents from the Bible, particularly from the Book of John, incidents where Jesus talked directly to women (the Woman at the Well), advocated that they study directly under him (Mary and Martha), that women not be blamed for sexual sins that men also commit (stopping of the stoning of the woman caught committing adultery). Jesus revealed the most important event in the history of humankind, his resurrection, to women first (either to Mary, his mother, or to Mary Magdalene)--whereas Paul says that Jesus revealed the resurrection first to "Cephus," (Peter). Paul was observing Jewish law here in crediting a man first with receiving the news because women's testimony was not considered credible at the time in courts. It was mentioned in this episode of the Catholic Talk Show that God refused to cure Paul's blindness. I think that God was making a statement about Paul's blindness to some of the teachings of Jesus in this action. Paul was a flawed person like the rest of us, and I believe he was a Kenite. But he did a lot to spread the faith. And that's his story, that even somebody as flawed as this, who still makes mistakes, can be changed and can be of use to God. If Paul could be saved and changed by Christ, then there's hope for practically anybody to be saved and changed. Paul was not perfection, he was very much a flawed person, a work in progress, like the rest of us. Jesus was perfection.
It would be a serious error to consider Paul a co-saviour. Paul certainly did not consider himself that way, he was very humble, always aware of how he had once been an enemy of the Church. However he was the Church's first great missionary.
You seriously compared Taylor Marshall to the Pharisees???? Real class move. T Marshall is a good and faithful Catholic who holds the Bishops and our Pope to a high standard by calling them out when they fail to defend the faith or protect children. If you lack the moral courage to speak truth, please do us all a favor and stand aside.
Taylor Marshall was arguing with a Bishop on Twitter and made the claim that he has prayed more for the Pope than all the priests of that diocese combined. If that’s not blowing the trumpets before you and pharisaical, i don’t know what is. It’s a wonder he doesn’t trip over the phylacteries on his way to pay people to throw Idols in the river and then act like he got a scoop to garner views.
@@CatholicTalkShow I watched a few of Dr. Marshall's videos and did not have a good feeling about the things he was saying. He's very divisive and yes, like a pharisee.
@@elijahyoung11 - Agreed. Total abomination. But to use it (and manipulate it) as an opportunity to grow your own reputation as a “defender of the faith” is a little... what’s the word... pharisaical? But much better to be pharisaical than heretical.
It is downright comical that you'd toss Taylor Marshall under the bus comparing him to the pharisees, while much of the clergy is committed to things like social justice, climate change, inclusive capitalism, the rainbow brigade, etc which are completely antithetical to Catholic and church dogma. The USCCB is soft on abortion, homosexuality and so on. If anything, much of the modernist hierarchy of the church in 2021 are more pharisee than anything Taylor Marshall has said. So before you complain about the speck in his eye, take the log out of your own. The irony and tone-deafness here is so thick. I don't see any of you calling out the utter BS coming from the mouths of people like James Martin.
How is social justice, climate change, and inclusive capitalism antithetical to Catholic Dogma? Do tell. Homosexuality and abortion, perhaps, But, there are a lot of Biblical arguments to knock those doctrine down. Want to hear a couple? Jews are not anti-abortion. Why? Because it says in Genesis that the spirit of life entered Adam when he took his first breath. Not before. And, everywhere in the Bible where homosexuality is even mentioned, it is in reference to homosexual behavior being used as part of a religious ritual (pagans did that) or homosexual RAPE, as in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. It is a little more complicated than this, but I'm not teaching a seminar.
The fact that he isn't up for debates is a red flag for me. He clearly thinks that the Catholic church only has the latin rite and doesn't understand the universality and diversity if the church. Hello guys, st. Juan Diego was also an amazing evangelist. God bless.
My parish is St Paul's in pei canada! Thank you for this!
Hey can we get a podcast on the selection of saints? Cause for canonization how that is started the requirements etc? How sanctification has changed over time etc. Thanks.
I like your show very very nice. I learn many things about our faith.
Dr. Taylor Marshall is not a letter of the law guy, he is a principal guy.
Father Pagano thanks for bringing in Saint Peter. I agree that Saint Paul was great but it seemed for a while like your boys were trying to make St. Paul as great as Jesus himself ("he was invoked knowledge from God The Father...")!
Where do they get those wonderful Catholic bobbleheads?
I so appreciate your love of Our Lord in His Holy Church. I just find it sad that you would equate Taylor Marshall to the Pharisees and then all laugh. I am no RadTrad, but those kinds of comments between Catholic RUclipsrs are simply uncharitable. We need to show unity and love to the world. God bless your apostolate!
When I was in London I belonged to a parish Sts Peter and Paul. I always thought these two saints did aweful things to Jesus. Who are we to doubt Jesus' forgiveness to us
Taylor Marshall brought me back to the church and it makes me sad you guys keep hating on him :(
Taylor Marshall is a prophet. He saves souls. The Holy Spirit sends individual gifts to each member for the benefit of the Body of Christ. He prays, reads scriptures, worships are subjects himself in humility to public"hating" . Trust the Holy Spirit, pray for decernment. Pray for all those who persecute christains all over the world. Heavenly Father, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done....
Stop badmouthing Dr Taylor Marshall.
His expansive follower base is not unfounded.
You're hurting yourselves more than Dr Marshall by bringing in the Pharisee jibe.
We love and are grateful to him for fighting the good fight in defence of Holy Mother the CHURCH from the liberation theology that has infiltrated the RCC.l
Taylor Marshall jab was unnecessary. I’m really sad to see Catholic RUclips channels bring each other down instead of building up. Don’t tear someone down you’re not willing to invest in building up.
Well hey yeah. I thought it was weird they mentioned him like that. 🤔
I'll be the normal one here. I'm not a fan of Taylor Marshall at all, and I'm so glad they called him out in this episode. I wish him the best. I just wish he would take a vow of silence.
Very informative. Learning a lot about my catholic apostolic faith🤞✝️. However the intro rock music is very uncatholic. So I suggest they use a more appropriate tune for the program.
I get it I had a pass. I left the church. That was a biggest mistake of my life.. And I came back did all my confessions. . I go to mass every Sunday. And every holy day I go to mass. Not eating meat. Ash wednesday.. No, you didn't meat lent AMF good friday. You're in that time Rice and fish.. Now I'm taking eucharistic. You mention that his writings may have been sung. Parts of them still are at Vespers [Evening Prayer].Example Philippians 2:6-11 [Saturdays].
Shading Taylor Marshall because he’s not wrong
Exactly! I didn’t think that was very respectful
They need to apologize for the disrespectful comment
Just the fruit of JPII neoconservativism. Can’t blame them, these people are at the mercy of societal decay. Let us pray for their safety, virtue and joy.
Agreed. TM is winning souls, as are these guys. Completely unnecessary to mention him negatively
The fact that he isn't up for debates is a red flag for me. He clearly thinks that the Catholic church only has the latin rite and doesn't understand the universality and diversity if the church. If he goes to extremes..he is no better than Luther.

It seems a bit uncharitable to compare Taylor Marshall to a Pharisee.
That being said this was a great show.
You do know there is backstory yo that he blocked these guys on social media when they tried to engage him he didn’t respond with a rebuttal just a block a Pharisee move why not engage these guys were not being disrespectful. Nothing wrong being Traditionalist but don’t act like you are a better Catholic and not engaging with other Catholics who question you.
@@lilwaynesworld0 hey I didn't know this. When did this happen? Yup TM tends to block people on social media. He also blocked Bishop Barron, I think.
@@lilwaynesworld0 haha TM spent shows criticising Bishop Barron for blocking him. Now he's blocking. TM is full of hot air sometimes.
Is the new bobble head the fisherman off the fish stick commercial? Or is he a fisher of men? Lol just wondering.

I've heard that Paul knew St. Peter. Is that right and if so was he schooled by St. Peter?
"One will come after me who will falsely claim to speak on my behalf. He will lead multitudes into darkness"--Jesus

Arabia, just means 'land of the Arabs' which is quite a wide area, it included, but was not confined to the Arabian Peninsula.

Ok, no big whoop to me, but was just kind of scratching my head. Thanks for the reply and all you guys do to create the podcast.
I just watched the Paul the apostle movie. I saw a lot of comments claiming he is a fake and a false apostle? anti-christ? Why?
Because Jesus himself warned us about Paul. "one will come after me who will claim to speak for me. He will lead multitudes into darkness.
"Paul, let's take that energy & _focus_ it."
Sounds much more diplomatic than 'yes, you're right, punk, GTFO'.
Ryan Scheel, did you really need to use a term that denigrates women in reference to St. Paul?
I always thought Stephen died about a year after Jesus's crucifixion and St. Dismas is actually the first Saint and Martyr because he died recognizing Christ.
While you are correct, St. Dismas IS actually the First Saint, he isn’t a martyr, because he didnt die BECAUSE of Jesus, he only died alongside Jesus.

Maybe they feel Paul broke away more with Judaism than Jesus?)
This false belief of Dispensationalism further leads to the error of the pre-trib rapture theory.
You describe very well their ridiculous views: as Jesus' three-year ministry "on pause," as the pre-trib "rapture happens," and Jesus "brings in the Jewish age," where he "fulfills everything he failed to do."
Catholicism has never put Jesus' ministry on pause, does not teach the pre-trib rapture, does not teach of a "Jewish age," and does not teach that Jesus needs to fulfill everything he "failed" to do.
@@lilwaynesworld0 spit them bars lil wanye
