      Not just inverted, but some bits are actually cut. Whether it's copyright reasons or just poor editing, I do not know, but it is very annoying, and most prominent at 48:42 where even the sound is cut. Luckily there is another, uninverted and uncut version uploaded by another user that also has the ending credits, I am just angry I only realised this after almost 50 mins into watching this version...

    Video title is not correct, this is "A Brief History IN Time"... This is not "A Brief History of Time". This is still an excellent video, I'm just letting those know who were looking for the other book.

    There definitely must be a very tiny time step invariance concerning the vector of time. In other words there must be a quantum of time within which time vector has both directions literally at the same time. If that wasn’t the case everything would be pre determined and humans would not be able to act on free will.

    Penrose's comments about the "much deeper purpose" of the universe is religiously inclined by the sound of it. Having said that, one's inspiration for doing science must come from somewhere and one can always argue that inspiration as a religious feeling since it can be not so logical where one gets the feeling of inspiration from. I think Penrose's use of the word "fruitful" says it all. It is not apparently not very rewarding or romantic or exciting to think of the universe or life as a mechanism that is just there with no purpose or an underlying intelligence behind it. However, truth is not always(actually most of the time) fruitful or romantic. It can be harsh. We may be hard wired to believe in fruitful pictures of the universe so we can continue living this biological life without feeling hopeless and depressed all the time. As the apparent intelligent pinnacle of the biological life, human beings may need the romantic or mystical belief to function with 'sanity' in the social animal setting. Lot more philosophy and neuroscience research are needed from western philosophy/science perspective to understand l the very likely religious wiring of the human brain. I say "western" because Eastern part of the world, namely India and China, might have done enough thinking and research into that area some few thousands of years ago.(Upanishad and Buddhism).

    • @camer7976
      @camer7976 Год назад +1

      When he said that viewing the universe as a computer is not a fruitful view he probably meant that doing so doesn't assist someone in understanding the universe. He also used the word "helpful" in the same context. Saying something is not fruitful or helpful, in this context, is not synonymous with saying it is not rewarding, romantic, or exciting.

    • @domari9459
      @domari9459 Год назад +1

      @@camer7976 If he meant "digital" computer by a computer, then yes, it is not very fruitful to view the universe as a computer. However, whether the universe is an information processor in the sense what our brain apparently is, then the universe can be, but only if we expand or modify our view or philosophy of what consciousness is. However, in the strictest sense of how we do the thinking in western science in this era, we probably don't want to see the universe as a computer of any kind. That is because in this era we go by what we can see and detect from our senses and equipment about the universe(telescopes and whatnot).

    • @JM-jj3eg
      @JM-jj3eg Год назад +2

      I think he is using the term fruitful in the scientific sense - not in a romantic or poetic sense. An idea is fruitful if it generates fresh insights and helps formulate new hypotheses that have a good track record of being confirmed experimentally.

      GOD is NATURE and HIS religion is SCIENCE. The rituals of IT(RELIGION) is research. Scientists are Prohets Messengers and the like. Faith is- (in its original definition,)RIDICULOUS😂. It's a miracle that mankind has figured ourselves and the universe out. Not completely or even a little bit but we're moving in the right direction. 1000yrs ago science was considered evil and ungodly therefore holding back progress. TRUE RELIGION (SCIENCE) WAS BANNED.COINCIDENCE ?😮IDK BUT MANKIND IS COMING AROUND NICELY.NATURE does and is doing everything the Bible said God did.❤Love and fear is the most needed energy source used to perpetuate our biological and spiritual existenceIn short YAY SCIENCE😊
