The Arbans single tongue exercises (about 10 of them in this series in the book) are excellent for quickly getting into trumpet shape. Do these every day as fast as you can without making a mistake, no louder than forte and make every note even. Great for recovering after a long trumpet layoff. Mendez of course is phenomenal.
I knew Rafael Personally. A great man & a Fabulous Technician on the trumpet. in the 1950s I saw him at the Morrison hotel in Chicago many musicians[ chicago symphony players etc] were there to see him. Maybe 1,000 people. . He played NO solos. Just gave a Demonstration of various cadenzas etc etc. It was better than listening to any of his recordings. He did things that were beyond belief. It was like listening to a violin player but on the trumpet. Rafael we all miss you.
LOL Yeah thats not me, its a recording of Rafael Mendez..I think I put that on the Video Descrip..i do use this exercise alot though...I posted it for some friends to use..
you can make all the exercise that you can ! of cours is good but if you don't have the good way to too it, you will never improve ! because the most important think to know to improve are invisible into the body ! like for example the control of the air, or the good way to work the mouthpiece i never saw that in any book ! until now . any way thank a lot for the exercise !!

The note before the last one is wrong! He plays a G, and it should be a B.
You're talking about #20? That's wrong, he definitely plays B-C at the end.
