That advice about your woman when you go to jail was bang on. I actually had that happen. That made the sentence 100x harder than it had to be. That's one of the better pieces of advice I've heard. All the best.

When Dave Courtney was doing the Jerry Sadowicz show (please excuse my spelling of his surname) in Glasgow in '99 I was brought onto the stage. My question was "Why won't Jack Straw release Reggie Kray when rapists and paedophiles are forever being released back into the community after sickeningly short sentences?" Before another word was said Dave Courtney took a load of money from his pocket and gave it to me. I think it was £50, which might not seem a lot to some but I appreciated the gesture as I was working part time with an agency and my wages weren't great at that time. I've never forgotten that night. I've tried finding the episode on RUclips but I don't think they aired it due to a slight "difference of opinions" Dave had with a guest in Liverpool, which the other guy fully deserved in my personal opinion. Thank you Mr. Courtney for your help at that time.

I'm from south east london and i can vouch for Dave. I'm only 5ft 6 but i'm a good 4 inches taller than Dave i think hes 5ft 2 the same size as my 11 year old grand daughter Felicity. Well i kid you not there was a big argument out on the road one evening and Dave came out of nowhere i think he was hiding under a traffic cone, and he grabbed a bunch of this chaps evergreens and he scattered them up into the air he really threw them up in the air and he really shouted at this chap, he said dont you ever talk to me like that again do you hear me dont you ever talk to me like that again. So i know David can get very angry.

The story he briefly mentioned about his pal Seymour happened in Tenerife in the year 2000. I was in Tenerife that day with the Missus and two friends. I used to live and work on the neighbouring island of Gran Canaria and was over on the Rife for a few days break and happened to see a poster in Bobbys bar advertising a night with Dave Courtney and friends at the Taboo bar, Golf Del Sur. I’d just read his book, Stop the ride I wanna get off, so thought why not let’s go and have a look, should be a laugh. It was. On arriving at the Taboo bar that evening, Courtney was in the pool room playing winner stays on in the Pool room, one handed(he actually plays better one handed than two) Being pretty useful at pool over the years when it came to my turn to play him, I asked him if he wanted to play for 10 thousand pesetas( just before the euro came in) I won the toss, elected to break, smacked the pack up and the bloody black went in. End of game and the quickest 10,000 pesetas(44quid) I’d ever lost.
The night was great, Mr Nice Howard Marks was there and what a great bloke he was, got up and had everyone enthralled with his tales of his colourful life and a certain Mr Toby Von Judge was also in attendance. The bullshit stories about him being Dave’s Consigliere and how he was bessie mates with the Pope were hilarious bless him. Anyway the night went off without a hitch, Dave Courtney got up on stage and proceeded to tell us all about Guy Ritchie basing Vinny Jones’s character in Lock Stock on himself as he once too battered some unsuspecting bloke with the top part of a sunbed etc etc… So after a few hours entertainment at the Taboo bar, Dave told everyone himself and his entourage were heading down to the Veronica’s area of Tenerife in Playa De Las Americas for a drink in Bobby’s bar if anyone would like to join him and off he went, his wife at the time Jennifer in tow with their baby Courtney’D’ Courtney and Dave’s son Beau. They had transport laid on, so myself and my girlfriend and friends and quite a few others who’d decided a night cap at Bobby’s Bar wit Dodgy Dave might be fun had to wait for various taxis to get us there.
Fortunately it was a Saturday night and all taxis were busy and as a result it was at least an hour before one finally arrived. Thank fuck for that as when we finally arrived at Bobby’s, everything was eerily and strangely quiet.
‘What’s going on?’ I asked the barman.
He told me there was a bit of trouble earlier in the place and as a result Bobby’s was closing early, so disappointed we decided to call it a night.
The following morning around the pool at the Island Village Heights timeshare resort owned by John ‘Goldfinger’ we bumped into the Boxing trainer/ promoter Ricky English who was staying there too as he was training a fighter on the island told us he’d been with Courtney the night before and when they entered Bobby’s bar with a few of Dave’s ‘Firm’ in tow, a few of the tasty locals took umbrage with this and very quickly quite a few of John Palmers nasty security turned up and it all went off. Shots were fired as Palmers goons who meant business turned up with shooters. No one got shot, but poor old Seymour Dave’s long time friend, was dragged outside and given a nasty beating. He spent the night in hospital and I believe the following day Dave Courtney and his entourage were given a police escort to the airport and all of them put on a plane back to Blighty… Dave had the night before rescued Seymour from perhaps a fate worse than the kicking he received… As you can imagine, myself and my friends were glad for once our taxi was late on picking us up to get us to Bobby’s bar. I wouldn’t have fancied being there with bodies flying over bars and out windows and bullets whizzing past you ears, fuck that for a game of soldiers…
