The American mafia would have had this lot holding doors open for them .
There's something sad about old men telling stories about how tough they were cos the truth is time is undefeated and as soon as they became middle aged they would have been food for the young lions coming through .
There's also enough evidence that both Krays were a force when they were younger ...they'd stab you up in a breath ...but the same applies to them ...age catches up with them.
The thing about Freddie foreman was that he was a well respected man but why did he stand for the Krays dumping jack the hat on his manor cos that's a liberty , why did he get involved in mad franks murder ...it doesn't make sense .
But let's not forget were dealing with career criminals so their not the most trustworthy of people when it comes to telling the truth

Eddie hit the nail on the head regarding the long sentences. Yes they knocked a few people about but all that torture nonsense was just that. Charlie got out of his depth with the South African secret service and his card was marked by the British state. Him and everyone associated with him was going down for a long stretch. I like Eddie. John McVicar had a lot of good things to say about him in his book. But him & Fraser get out of their depth as well with the Hayward firm that night in Catford. They had already tried to muscle their way into Billy Hayward’s gambling clubs and got told where to go. That was the cause of the big fight in Mr Smith’s.
