Man killing in gears 2 was just so satisfying you have to work for your kills and it takes alot of skill as well. I miss gow 2 gore the head popping while the body still standing and the physics of the body when it get shot
I'm really glad you harp on the gore and animations in Gears 2 being the best. One of my biggest disappoints with Gears 3 in 2011 was that they made the chunk animations way worse, and it has never been the same since. In Gears 2, the body chunks shoot out in the direction of the pellets rather than in random directions that make no sense. That's partly why it was so satisfying. Need this to return to remasters and/or Gears 6

Yes I appreciated your input and truth about the older gears especially gears 2. I want them so badly to go back to a more serious horror undertone, even though it’s not considered a horror game. The emotes and new dialogue is kinda cringe or derpy, and everything in gears 1 and 2 had so much more weight to it all with gameplay/animations/dialogue. Coloring was huge too
That old headshot sound is soooo satisfying! Even in gears 4, it sounds really great. 5’s headshot sound is nowhere near as nice. 5 in general just isn’t as heavy. When you chunk in this game, the blood flies everywhere and the screen shakes. No hit markers or little pop ups on your screen like, ‘eliminated MarcusMain27’. There was nothing, or very little to distract you from the moment. The colour grading especially is completely different. Gears 2 feels like there’s a war going on, but 5’s is just a bit too bright and vibrant for my liking.
Idk about you, but when I’m playing the older gears, I feel more invested. Like, I wanna protect my teammates and hit shots and stuff, because the whole vibe of the game is in a more serious vein. 5 has emotes, and expressions and it just feels kinda childish, u know? The old gears are gears at its best.
