    I've been learning the basics in rollerblading, and now that I can ride backwards, I think it's about time to get an upgrade from my garage sale hand me downs. I fell in love with the RB but wanted to make sure it was quality before I bought it. This video helped me make my decision thank you!

    From what I've read, Rollerblade changed to the higher quality frames for the 2022 model year. I'm guessing that there are still 2021 skates in stock an that some retailers are shipping these instead of the higher quality 2022 models. The cheaper frames are embossed. I guess the only way you can be sure to get the better frame is to buy in person or contact the seller before ordering.

    super helpful! thank you so much! i’ve been agonizing for nearly a month trying to find the right skate for me-i started off thinking i’d get roller skates, and now i’m all the way over here, haha. after watching your review, it looks like RB might be the one for me! i’m thinking of getting the women’s pro just for aesthetic reasons.

    I got the UK11 RBDA and it actually comes with a 250mm frame in a size 10 and above, not that the 7mm really makes much difference but it's something worth noting. This is one of the few skates I would recommend to anyone though. Not without its minor issues but it's just really good and well made.

    Nice review! I have also been skating these for a while now, and I agree that the flex of the liner is a weak point (not a killer, but does not correspond to the overall build quality of the skate). I switched to reign liners, and the responsiveness of the skate improved massively! Great skate otherwise, very happy with it!

    • @chrischadwick1
      @chrischadwick1  2 года назад +1

      Yeah agreed man. Awesome skate with a poorly constructed liner. Not uncomfortable just way too much forward flex!

    Thanks for the review i bought it and my first impresion is that bearings (SG7) are a bit slower than wicked ABEC 7, did you had this impresion? i'm a bit dissapointed, if fact when i roll the wheels by hand of my old skates wheels keep running for 10 or even more seconds and these new ones SG7 stop below 10 and near 5 seconds.
    And i have to make more efforts for skating backwards or criss cross.
    thanks again and regards

    • @chrischadwick1
      @chrischadwick1  2 года назад

      So I personally love the RB shell because it fits me really well. Fit is so important when it comes to shells as plastic is plastic at the end of the day. The Twister Edge is a higher spec skate but much narrower. If you like the RB you could consider upgrading frames, liners and wheels or have a look at the FR intuition skate. Hope that helps.

    I went from the the zetrablade which is like a 10.6" frame length to RB cruisers which is about a 9" frame length. That little difference made a big difference in the feel. I had troubke balancing and almost fell on my ass a few times trying to get used to slightly smaller frame length. Still have to get used to it, still use the zetrablades too. I also notice on the RB CRUISER that seems the top plastic buckle digs into my shin a bit. 🤔 I agre about the bolt hardware, i thought I (and almost did) stripped it when removing the brake from the skate, thankfully i didnt, and i realized that the allen key goes in quite a bit.

    Hello! I was thinking of getting these, but the previous cheaper model with worse material but- I usually wear shoes in size 25.5 (my feet are about ~25.2/.3/.4 cm) but this model is only in sizes 25cm or 26cm (EU 39 & 40.5). Should I get this model almost a centimeter bigger (size 26)? I don’t have a big budget but I don’t want to get rollerblades from some cheaper less known brands. There’s no shop in my country where I could try them on in person.

    great video mate. could you elaborate on the V2 liner sizing vs the shell sizing? i have very wide feet and i'm still on the lookout for a good fitting boot. i'm currently on a FR1 with a size M V2. feet are between 271 and 275mm long and very wide. the liner fits me good, but i'd appreciate just a smidge longer boot than the size 8 shell of the FR1.
    what size of RBs should i order to test out with the V2 size M liner from your experience?
    cheers.

    • @chrischadwick1
      @chrischadwick1  2 года назад

      Hey mate so I ride the UK 10/11 RB shell with the Xl intuition V2 and its a good fit. If anything its a little on the large side because the L V2 is just too small for me and the XL is a roomy fit.
      Difficult to advise you what to order in your scenario. I ordered 2 different sizes or RB skates on a credit card then sent the wrong size back so I could have more of a skateshop experience. Might be worth giving your local shop a holla too. Hope my experience helps man 😁

    Hi everybody :)
    I want to suprise my sister with new skates. Now she is using some old kinds skates. I read a lot about that this skates are good for wide feets. But are they also good for non wide feets? Here shoe size is 37 and i remember once we measured 230mm. Do you recomend size 38? If they are also good for no wide feets 🤔 im so close to order them and also so unsure 😑

    • @chrischadwick1
      @chrischadwick1  Год назад +1

      Yeah pressure points can be a problem. You could try switching the liners (intuition liners work well in this skate but they're quite expensive). The other option is to push the pressure point out using a heat gun. Thirty and Rolling made a video about this. Search for thirty and rolling heat gun and you'll find it. Hope that helps 👍

      @@chrischadwick1 I ended up putting a folded sock just above the ankle area and that made the pain disappear completely. I guess because the foot is thicker with the sock, the ankle pressure is greatly reduced.

    freeskates are skates used for slalom, correct?

    • @chrischadwick1
      @chrischadwick1  2 года назад

      Not specifically, the terms 'freeskates' snd 'urban skates' are used interchangeably. It essentially refers to skates with rugged plastic shells, 80 mm wheels (or larger) and a short wheel base. You could definitely use this type of Skate for skating cones but I imagine you would need a longer frame for high speed down hill slalom. This definitely isn't my area of expertise though so if your looking for a slalom specific skate a skate shoo would be the place to go for advice. Hope that helps

    What's the brand/model of the wheels

    • @chrischadwick1

      The black wheels are Rollerblade stock wheels, I don't think they sell them as an after market product as the RB Supreme and Hydrogen wheels are better. The white wheels are Revolver a brand of Loco Skates Skate Shop 👍

    dude, you ordered 3 different models, the RB 80 which is the base one, the RB DA which is an upgraded model and the entry level one the RB cruiser. They have different price points. It's not just about where you buy them.

    • @chrischadwick1
      @chrischadwick1  2 года назад

      Umm no not quite I think you misunderstood me there. I owned an RB110 from years ago. I bought the DA frames separately on ebay. I then ordered 2 pairs of Cruisers to get the right fit and sent back the pair that didn't fit.

    • @NicolasLeclerc
      @NicolasLeclerc 2 года назад +2

      @@chrischadwick1 ah ok, might have missed that. BTW i think you got different models cause rollerblade seems to have removed the lowest quality frame from their lineup and renamed the RB 80 to RB 80 cruiser which is nice but a bit confusing. Shops probably still have stocks of the discontinued model.
