  • The guys close out the 2023-2024 deer season with a trip up to camp for their annual last weekend of the season muzzleloader trip. Usually this trip is pretty relaxed and the focus is enjoying a fun weekend away rather than killing a buck. This year was a little different as Noah found himself in range of horns with hours left in the season to give him some last minute excitement!

Yes! Those flintlocks can be tricky to keep in good shooting condition!

Not enough spark or the powders damp.

Flint was not sparking properly…had a handful of misfires back at camp after the hunt and had to hit the frizzen with some steel wool to get it throwing a good spark again. Live and learn!

I wouldn't waste my time with a frickin flintlock. Nothing but cold disappointment.

Haha I hear ya it can be frustrating for sure. We partly do it because we aren’t ready to get out of the woods. Sometimes we tote around the bow late season too!
