All 3 look wonderful on you! I never would have considered making a romper but I just might. Thanks for sharing the tutorial on the elastic in the neckband. Looks like something that would likely work for a wrap dress/top too.
I can see why you like this pattern Kim! All three versions look fantastic on you! And, to get that kind of fit without any adjustments! Had you not done this episode highlighting the LN Sunday Morning Romper, I most likely would have passed on it. Now, I can't wait to get it downloaded and printed out!
Great tip on the elastic. I had been using the shiny one from Amazon on a few garments and was just not happy with the results. I need to locate the other version. It looks much more pliable. Thanks for sharing!
When you mentioned wishing you could be one of the sewers who gets every thread during construction it made me remember one of my patients. She told me to always strive to be best but settle for good enough. Ah, the wisdom of our elders.
I like that saying! It’s funny the little recordings we have in our head from people who mentored is. Every time I cook a chicken, I hear my mom saying, “scrub that chicken, the butchers to clean it good enough!” 🤣🤣🤣
Oh my gosh! I never dreamed I could wear a jump suit, but I’m buying the pattern and trying it out. You look amazing in all views. My head is spinning thinking of fabrics!! I’m going to try the clear elastic again. I’ve made lots of swimwear, but maybe I wasn’t sewing it correctly. Thanks, Kim! This was my favorite!!
I loved jumpsuits when I was younger, but now physical limitations dictate what I can reasonably wear. Lol. I think the tip with clear elastic will be useful on many knit necklines. Not just where recovery is paramount. Thank you!
Looking good! We're in winter now so buying that'll have to wait a while. I'm also going in for hip replacement surgery in two weeks time, so I'd rather spend my time on doing an octave coat! And afterwards I'll keep viewing my beloved seeing channels!
I’ll be praying for your speedy recovery. Watching RUclips sewing videos got me through my leg surgery a few years ago. Get some good books lined up, too!
Hey Kim I have that thicker clear elastic and I bought it before I knew how I wanted to use it,, so I’m thrilled to know about the thinner stretchier kind. I am so so grateful I saw this video. I use elastic for all kinds of things and I have used 1’8 inch regular to do this technique, but I’m ordering the clear as soon as I finish this comment. You look so lovely in all three rompers! Even though I’m not pear I still think it would be a good idea to do your trick when I make one of these. I stretch things out no matter what because I’m always in a hurry. Thanks again👍🧩🎯🏆🧵🧵🧵🧵
This is such a flattering pattern and you look great. I would have said the same as you did, I can't do that. But I will try it out, a first! Thanks for the helpful tips.
I love the one you are wearing Kim - it looks a fabulous so I have had to buy it (Kim made me do it....🤣) I am going to make it in a micro scuba which I hope will work beautifully 👍😍❤️
Morning Kim, I can’t remember if I was on Love Notions website or watching a tester blogger and there was a sneak peak and I saw Whitney in a version. I was getting a little obsessed trying to find the pattern and finally emailed Whitney to ask about it. She kindly replied promptly and shared when the pattern would be available. I can’t wait to make it. What a flattering romper, you’re so right about it looking so gorgeous on every body, height, size and shape. Just ❤️❤️❤️it. I really loved all the versions on you too. Thank you so much for sharing Val❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧
I love your elastic tip. Great idea. I have one more issue. I’m short at 5’3” and large busted. I’m between the 18 and 20. My hips are fine at the 18. My upper bust is 42” and my full bust is 47.5”. Is there enough stretch across the bust to just go with the 18? Also, I’m worried that the V neck will be too low because of my height. You’re input would be welcome.
I’d make the size 18 full bust, but still blend out to a size 20 at the bust only. The full bust finished measurements for size 18 is 47, which would be too tight as is. Blending to the size 20 gives you 49 as a finished measurement which gives you a bit of ease
Kim, I’m loving the rompers, but have my doubts. I wanted to ask about the comfort level of the double brushed poly you were wearing. Does it make you feel sweaty? I’ve seen some wonderful fabrics, but I tend to get overheated in polyester. Thanks
It actually is pretty lightweight, so it’s not too bad. It’s not as cool as the short cotton Lycra 95/5 one, but I wasn’t roasting in it. Hope that helps
It was available when I listed it on the shop. I will try to find an alternative. It’s so hard to know how thick they are. The shiny stuff stands to be thicker, I think.
this looks lovely on u kim- can I ask how do u know when buying fabric online if it has good recovery. does it correspond to the amount of stretch in the fabric???
Great question. It corresponds to the amount of Lycra, Spandex or Elastane- all names for the same thing. Cotton Lycra is normally 95/5, and is a great choice for this pattern
Hi Kim, you look great in all of the rompers! Very flattering. You have changed my mind about rompers (jumpsuits) for pear shaped ladies. I have a question, you say you are a size 14 top and size 18 bottom, and you said you were able to make it right out of the package. Did tyou grade from an 18 to a 14 or did you pick one size and make no changes? Thanks!
Will the clear elastic work on a cotton rib or a regular cotton knit that is unstable? And to let you know, the link for the clear elastic says its currently unavailable. Maybe it sold out?
It would stabilize it at whatever seam you add it to. But, I’m not sure that cotton rib would be the best for a romper unless it’s pajamas or something. It would stretch out of shape all over. The clear elastic was in stick when I added it last night. I’ll go see if I can find an alternative.
KIM! I am SOOO glad I found your channel and Love Notions patterns! You are such an inspiration to me! 💞
Thank you so much 😊
Very helpful! I’ve already thought of other instances where elastic would be helpful. Thank you! Your romper is beautiful and looks great on you!
Love the romper you are wearing. Love the colors, looks great on you.
You look terrific in your rompers!
Rewatching your videos.
Thank you ❤️
Great tip ,Thanks !!
The flowered romper that you are wearing is amazing!
All 3 look wonderful on you! I never would have considered making a romper but I just might. Thanks for sharing the tutorial on the elastic in the neckband. Looks like something that would likely work for a wrap dress/top too.
Yep! The first time I used that trick was on a wrap top jumpsuit.
Great tip re elastic thank you. All three rompers look great on you.
Thank you, Hazel!
What a neat pattern! You look great in all 3 of yours. Thanks so much for the clear elastic tip, I'll be doing that.

Thank you!
All 3 versions look great on you. I am definitely getting this through your link. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
I just bought it. The clear elastic trick did it for me lol. Thank You xx
Thank you!
Hi Kim, thank you for sharing the information about the elastic on the V Neck. The rompers look great on you!
Thank you!
Great great tip❤ on the neckline😊
Thank you!

Wonderful review. I’m really excited to see this romper released and yours look beautiful on you. The tip for the neckline is sheer brilliance.
Thank you!
I love the one that your wearing and the shorts one is also so cute. The fabric is just beautiful.
Thank you!

Yes- any time a knit fabric is prone to stretching out of shape.
Kim this pattern looks amazing on you! The clear elastic on the neckline is an amazing tip!
Thank you!
Looking good!

@@dorothysdaughtersews thank you Kim!
I've been waiting on pins and needles (pun intended) for this pattern to come out. Thanks for the elastic tip. Going on to buy.

Yes, pulling it on and off in a hurry can also stretch it out. I should have thought to mention that. ❤️
Kim, that romper is so cute on you! I am going to give that jumpsuit a try!
This is such a flattering pattern and you look great. I would have said the same as you did, I can't do that. But I will try it out, a first! Thanks for the helpful tips.

Whitney’s little orange romper is so cute!

The floral one is gorgeous the shorter one not so much

Went on to purchased clear elastic through your link, and it's not longer available. Will continue to look for it. Thanks again!
It was available when I listed it on the shop. I will try to find an alternative. It’s so hard to know how thick they are. The shiny stuff stands to be thicker, I think.
Hi Kim! What stitch would you use to topstitch the neckline so the stitches don't snap when you take it off and on?
I use a very narrow zig zag or my coverstitch.
this looks lovely on u kim- can I ask how do u know when buying fabric online if it has good recovery. does it correspond to the amount of stretch in the fabric???
Great question. It corresponds to the amount of Lycra, Spandex or Elastane- all names for the same thing. Cotton Lycra is normally 95/5, and is a great choice for this pattern

Did you enlarge the width of your neckband. Mines seems so narrow when folded in half?
No, i didn’t alter it in any way.
