  • Introducing his latest novel in New Delhi, the newly-awarded Jnanpith Amitav Ghosh spoke to the Wire's chief of bureau Raghu Karnad - about new global connections being created by the climate crisis and refugee changes, how novelists have to give voice to beings and forces beyond the human, and the limits of the rational in helping us understand life, death and our planet.
Filmed on June 13 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, and introduced by Meru Gokhale, editorial director of Penguin-Random House India. Like our work? Click here to support The Wire: thewire.in/sup...

Look forward to paperback of 'Gun Island'. Good to see Raghu Karnad is a culturaled and concerned citizen. Thanks to The Wire to bring programme like. I would also request to The Wire to present literature based programme in regular intervals.

More people live in Bangladesh and the whole of Russia ... Bengali is the 7th most spoken language in the world today ... Mr Ghosh could try writing in Bangla instead of praising disenfranchised labor working in coffee shops and restaurants across europe .. be it Geneva or Benidorm
