Any small or big development has to make sense or the nature has its own way to get it back!! Uttarakhand/ earthquakes is just one such example!!
Analogy, if you try to stuff say 20ppl in a 10×10 room with 1 ton AC, within few minutes, you will see ppl suffocating!!
Mumbai for e.g, they keep cutting trees in the name of development, there is something called as density of population, if it's more than required, it will not do any good to anyone in the long run. You surely can't eat building, you need oxygen and that comes from trees!!
I will surely read the book!

To share something of syncretic culture of Bengal (both West Bengal and present-day Bangladesh), my Bangladeshi Muslim friends have many rituals that are very similar to Hindu marriage rituals. Such as, "biyer totto" which includes a whole fish with turmeric sprinkled on it.

I hear Mr. Amitav saying; he absolutely loves the mountains....he used to go on pilgrimages to the holy sites.
Don't you think that pilgrimages are the main reason for the unscrupulous development which results in such disasters.
I wish educated people realise this and stop this business of pilgrimage.
We only shed crocodile tears by speaking about it, but take no action to avoid such development and resultant disasters.
