I graduated HS in 76 and had a 70 Chevelle exactly like this one.....at 58...5 years ago I had a mid life crisis and found another one just like her....wasn't real cheap but much cheaper than two 25 year olds and a divorce...the three of us really enjoy cruisin....
Love this car. My uncle had one with 5.38 gears completely overhauled ls6 454. Could barely leave a stop sign without accidently squealing tires! Your interior looks beautiful. Great sound too!
Can guarantee it's no true ls6, they only made 42 or 4300 of them. Also ls6 came with a tach that redlines at 6500 and anyone in there right mind isn't going to add gauges and drill holes in the dash to screw them on if it's a true ls6. Nice chevelle though
@@kristopherlalko7046 Actually, you are quite wrong. Not all LS6 Chevelle's had tach's. Patrick Glenn Nichols has a Tuxedo Black stripe delete LS6 car on his channel that came without a tach (Edit: It's an actual original numbers matching LS6 SS).
I like those stickers they put on for the uninitiated or the young kiddos when you buy from like a muscle car place or classic car dealership they have the little thing let you know about the gas.. nice bow tie sounds really good
@@kristopherlalko7046 It's like all the 94-96 Caprices with a "Corvette" engine. 😂 My truck has a 454 with rectangle port heads. I should tell people it's an LS6, I guess.
Something about an old American car, no modern car has even if they are faster and or handle better. In stock form I mean, is when you floor it in a muscle car it just feels like raw power.
when i gonna get someday this car, then i gonna roll in my town and everybody gonna know the next time i come that's it's me, they gonna say "hey, it's that guy again, oh his car is awesome" and all guys gonna say "damn i wish i had one of those, the sound, the design and in factorial condition...omg!" they'll all gonna knee in front of the hood...no...better at the back, cause i would need free road in front for speed, i bet you know what i mean, the only things that these babies can do is drag
hoggin n bogging if you cant hear that cam....then you don't know to much about engines......the car has a mild cam and you can hear it plain as day last 30 seconds of the vid.
Siu Andy 5 MPG on a good day. But it's a 40-year-old car with a 40-year-old performance engine. Fuel economy was not a concern when this car was designed.
Yes. It is a factory SS car. A lot of people think its not because of the lack of factory gauges, but those were an option not included in the SS package. The Z25 code on the cowl tag and GM of Canada docs verify it as a true SS car. www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/chevrolet/chevelle/1821673.html
milwaukeegregg . Also, 70-72 Chevelle SS has round gauges. Standard has one large area for all gauges. I had 2 1970 malibu Chevelles. Love the big trunks and deep wheel wells for fat tires. Beautiful treasure there jjersy!
Both Those Items Were Options,But If I Was Present Owner & Wanted It To Look Correct,I Would Replace the STD.Dash Cluster W/ the Optionable LS6 One,Rather Than Add A SUN PRO.Knee Knocker Tach,But Owners Preference Presides Here. Also,If I Was Trying To Sell it As A REAL LS6,WOULD OPEN THE HOOD SO WE COULD SEE IF IT HAS The WINTERS ( SNOWFLAKE ) INTAKE,THAT ALL LS6'S & L78'S HAVE.
I've owned a 440 R/T coronel 440, a 440 GTX and a 396 SS camaro, a 71 cuda' 440-sixpack and a 70 454 LS6 chevelle........without a doubt the 454 chevelle was the slowest of all the above....this car under performed big time on the street......don't know why the numbers were there but they didn't translate to the street...sorry just my opinion and personal experience
Nothing quite as soothing as a V8 rumble!

Nice '70 Chevelle SS, That's as pure as american muscle can get!!
Love this car. My uncle had one with 5.38 gears completely overhauled ls6 454. Could barely leave a stop sign without accidently squealing tires! Your interior looks beautiful. Great sound too!
I love how EVERY Chevelle on YT is magically an LS6...
Pretty sure he said built to ls6 specs
I noticed that too, never seem to see any LS5s.
I love you too
Nothin beats the sound of classic American muscle
No doubt
There are engines from abroad that sound good as well, but there's nothing quite like the sound of a well-tuned big block.
PurpleNinja 82802 only with a better muffler😂
twotailedavenger 😏
Are you guys forgetting about AUSSIE muscle
This is my favorite car. I had a '70 Malibu with a dinky 307 in high school. Wish I had it back!!!
This is the greatest american classic muscle ever
I love the start where he inserts the key and then i hear the noise!😍😍😍
Just like sex ...You insert your. "key" and then you hear her make noise 😊
Love those 70 chevelles great cars
beautiful chevelle! ls6 one of my dream cars!

My dream car. Love the sound. I bet the exhaust smell is intoxicating?
Jeff Hill literally
Yup that old gas from the 1980’s
Ahhh I mis the 80’s cheep beer good gas and clean cocaine.
@cody sonnet as a kid I thought I was dreaming that it smelled good, but it must’ve. Haven’t smelled that good stuff in decades.
Yeah but that’s the point. If you can hear it and smell it, it’s a good car.
@@johnking9410 were talking about beer and cocaine now. Catch up.
Warming up that old V8. Love It......
Thanks. I like them better than the flowmasters i had on before.
That's one bad ass ride love the muscle cars
definitely need wider rear tires. beautiful car, beautiful sound
I like those stickers they put on for the uninitiated or the young kiddos when you buy from like a muscle car place or classic car dealership they have the little thing let you know about the gas..
nice bow tie sounds really good
The new cars may have more horsepower, but they don’t have the deep lopey idle. Nothing like it. Beautiful SS
That is EXACTLY how muscle should sound
I love this car
Gorgeous! I wish it was a 1971 with a LS6 but looks amazing.
Never made 71's with ls6

The last great year for a Chevelle.
No 72 was the last year for this great body style.
Sounds like old school!
Sounds great...my chevelle.is a 68 w/ 454-489 tunnel ram
My favorite Chevy

what an beautiful car my my moms dad had just like that one same!!!!!

Nice tribute
Absolutely beautiful, I hope he isn't modding it
Love this. When he started it he had a full tank of gas.
Beautiful
guess who's not jealous of your car...
who else drives your car that you need a warning tag for what fuel to put in? lol. Sounds great
a cammed out big block with pizza cutters as back tires lol
And very nice interiors!
My dream car
I want to thumbs up this 100 times
Watch the leather man,,, he he.......you just got to keep on livin.....LIVIN
amanzing car is a pearl
I had a 71, and some jerkwad stole it. Never to be seen again 😥
Nice
love it
me apaixonei por esse carro ronco lindo é uma melodia pra mim
sounds like a 500 lift factory street mechanical cam to me!
Im in love.
Very nice Chevelle, but why no factory tach?
there's my dream car
Is that why it didn't come with a factory tachometer?
bealtifull
I always thought a LS6 car couldn't have a/c ?
It was not a option it must have been added.
You got a '71/'72 trunk emblem on there man.
sounds awesome tho.....for a nice cam. in it
a little notice sign there was at where you bought it from just reminding you?? like Midwest Classics or one of those muscle car dealerships
very nice! Is this car for sale? thanks
Now it is, apparently
Hi buddy, first off all congrats, you have an amazing car with a very badass engine, sweet!
May I know the specs please?
I'll appreciate it, cheers..!
Sweet
This is one of those cars you sale and wish you didn't lol
JEZITSHARDTOSIGNIN *sold
Sounds like you might need more base timing
......and less vacuum leaks
when i gonna get someday this car, then i gonna roll in my town and everybody gonna know the next time i come that's it's me, they gonna say "hey, it's that guy again, oh his car is awesome" and all guys gonna say "damn i wish i had one of those, the sound, the design and in factorial condition...omg!" they'll all gonna knee in front of the hood...no...better at the back, cause i would need free road in front for speed, i bet you know what i mean, the only things that these babies can do is drag
Beautiful car! Incorrect headlight switch though...
"Turn up the Bass"
What model of Magnaflows (besides just Stainless steel) are those - they sound awesome!
In another 20 probably, id like to see how many ppl actually keep their chevelles in good condition though.
In 20 years you won't be able to get gas maybe 10$ a gallon if your lucky
Only thing I don't like about it is how the tires looks so wimpy on it. I feel like from the rear view they need to be wider.
thats how tires were made back in the day from the factory specs real skinny
NEEDS the OLE STRAUB CAM
Somethings not rite here , sluggish timing or carb issues , mines stock but much snappier
sounds cammed probably just doesn't have enough vacuum down low rpms
doesn't sound cammed to me. im sure the timing is backed way of for highway driving
hoggin n bogging if you cant hear that cam....then you don't know to much about engines......the car has a mild cam and you can hear it plain as day last 30 seconds of the vid.
THANK YOU
icemanhi07
seems to me you dont know anything in general slap ass.
If this is a real Ls6 I would never sell this thing, and keep all the original parts... 20 years this car will be worth 100,000 if you ask me.
sounds nice what size cam u got
What kind of drone are u getting between 1500 and 2000 rpm, looking to get rid of my flows.
Peter Mayo Fit a set of corsas, cant go wrong with them
Magnaflows don't drone
Matt Leonard yes they do ...
Magnaflows do not drone, I have had them on several vehicles. Flowmasters drone badly.
EskimoKillaz flowmaster drone is horrible. Magnaflow has less drone, corsa has no drone
And with a 4 speed how God intended.
cool, but would've wanted a little more revving Edit: Beautiful car though
+Joe Gosselin car is cold. rev cold engine on your car. let the smart people not do it. thanks.
I find it hard to believe it's a ls6 with no tach.
Needs to get that exhaust leak fixed. And the timing needs to be advanced a few degrees.
thanks for the info and have you ever tried hooker exhaust on it ?
5 mpg?
Car people dont car bout mpg
nothing wrong with that… I apologize if this comment offended you sir.
Siu Andy 5 MPG on a good day. But it's a 40-year-old car with a 40-year-old performance engine. Fuel economy was not a concern when this car was designed.
that's true, mpg does not matter when owning a V8, i wish i can have a 1969 super bee with 440 but they are just too hard to find
JJerszy, what cam is/was in that engine when you did this video?
which do you like better?
WHY IS A GEN LIGHT ON NO ALTERNATOR
I understand the skinnys are factory wheels but you gettin no type of traction with those. That shit would go hard with some 275-315's in the back
Come on take us for a hot lap .
I found probably the cheapest chevelle fully original with 454 for ONLY 8500$ not a clone either
I've seen ls6 engines that are 5.7 litre, are there different sizes??
carley northcoast, the LS6 has only one size and that is a 7.4 liter 454. If it’s a 5.7 liter it’s a 350 if it’s from GM.
That does not look like a factory SS car. Am I wrong?

Magnaflow model 11266. 18"
what length? thanks
Those SS instrument panels just don't look right without the rally gauge pack.
No standard Tachometer ??
Tachs were almost never standard back then (except for vettes and exotics). You had to check the option box on most cars.
u should find original full gauge dash for that bad boy.....would look better.....just my opion
If this is a real ls6 than it is not a good idea to modifiy the $120,000 car
it wont die just let it idle low!!!
Don't pissed a 70-72 chevelle SS OFF!!!!!!!
The U-bolts on the rear exhaust look like azz.
Saganw 4 speed ?
MegaChevyMan79 probably munchie 4
Turn your idle up 200
