Benji, I thoroughly enjoyed this video! The quality and sharpness of the video captured the topography of Death Valley very well. The view from Dante's View is absolutely amazing! I would say Death Valley is a living and breathing ecosystem. I had the opportunity to visit the valley for the first time in the Winter of 2014 to study the Geology and Natural History of Northern Death Valley. In fact, you are traveling to an area in California that I am very familiar with. The Owens Valley. There I studied the Geology & History of the Eastern Sierra, Natural History of the Ancient Bristlecone Pine, Geology and Volcanic Hazards of Mammoth Mountain. This was with UCR Extension led by a great teacher. Each time I traveled up there I was amazed how the Eastern Sierra Nevada towers over the Owens Valley with its jagged peaks. I highly recommend a visit to Manzanar. Especially when you see the wall that has the names of all internees in the former dance hall. It is a very moving and solemn place. Well, I hope you enjoy your visit. Safe travels.

Death Valley may be desolate but it contains it's own immense beauty. Cali has a bunch of issues but it contains diverse biomes and environments within hours of driving and I love it. Being from SoCal and having lived in NorCal that past decade+, I ventured further north for the first time to Patrick's Point to camp and it was beautiful. It's crazy that you can literally surf in the morning and ski in the evening of the same day within a single state. I know you tend to showcase places less traveled but would live to see you in places like Patrick's Point, the Redwoods, and Yosemite. Also, IIRC, the Salton Sea is already experiencing the issues you mentioned about the Great Salt Lake.
I agree! California is unrivaled in terms of natural beauty and diversity of landscapes. But yes, loads of issues in the state, lol. I will visit Yosemite, the sequoias, and the redwoods sometime in this life!
