Why do they consistently miss the fact that the show centers around making fun of it's characters, one of my favorite things about Seinfeld is that they always make a point to highlight that what they are saying is wrong by bringing in characters to chastise their foolishness

The majority of these kids are pretty irritating especially Morgan and Jeannie, I feel sorry for the people that have the misfortune to deal with them.
Seinfeld is an iconic show. Hilariously funny and definitely pushing the limits for that time. Some of the greatest lines (phrases) came from this show. It can definitely stand today, hence why they still show it on TV.
Me personally I’ve always loved Seinfeld the humor is right up my alley but you have to remember everyone has a different sense of humor what I find funny someone else might not if you get what I mean.
People are waaaayyy to serious. This show is classic and hilarious. I'm 23 and I watched it for the first time last year. Also they picked very controversial episodes on purpose to make them look bad.
Loved the episode, but my main issue was that there seemed to be a confusion where some Reacters thought it was, "Would this be appropriate in 2018?" compared to, "Would a 2018 audience enjoy this content?" Though there's definitely some overlap. There were some points where a Reacter would say, I think it would be appropriate in 2018, and didn't hit on whether they thought it would be popular.
Does it hold up? Seinfeld never went nowhere, people still love it today. Hulu bought the show for $150 milllion just for the streaming licence 2 years ago.

Sunny is basically a Seinfeld remake, which less boundaries cause it’s smaller network. 2 of the best sitcoms of all time. The fact there was no continued plot line--each show starts from scratch, is part of the beauty
Disappointed on my female counterparts... so uptight, self-righteous and easy to offend
Don't they know how comedy works? I'm from India and I watched the show (and keep rewatching) and its hilarious. The writing is crisp and very incisive.
Ikr?
No they don't. Not a clue.
american teens seem to invested in a social cause to understand humor, we luckily don't have the same thing in India.
I would like to point out that the same generation that has a problem with "the contest" episode are the ones that come up with "no nut november"
"They set the girls up to be the bit*h"? Uh, no. Jerry and his friends were made to be unlikable jerks. The very last episode proves it. HOWEVER, those unlikable jerks are characters we can ALL relate to if we were honest about it. Me? I'm a George Costanza, socially and a Jerry Seinfeld in all else. That's the genius of it.
Exactly! It is about how we all are but are too afraid to admit. Like, how many people out there pretend to be "an architect" when they're not?! Seinfeld was and still is the best!
Whoever thinks Seinfeld is offensive needs to eat some concrete. This world is so soft
They are commenting on the face value. Point of Seinfeld was to make fun of pettiness of the 'mordern' people of that time.
So in other words it doesn't hold up because its humour is too specific so newer generations can't relate to it, right?
@@gracjanlekston134 You're exactly right. I loved this show when it came out, and still love it today, but it doesn't hold up because it was one of, if not THE first kind of show of its kind. Other shows have come out since, and have done it better.
@@IveAlreadyWon What shows have done it better?
What's scary is how many episodes of Seinfeld somehow swung back around to being topical again.
rolling eyes through out the whole episode.
why?
Why do they consistently miss the fact that the show centers around making fun of it's characters, one of my favorite things about Seinfeld is that they always make a point to highlight that what they are saying is wrong by bringing in characters to chastise their foolishness
And they don't even really need to say it- that's the point of the show, that the characters are assholes
For real. I mean the show ends with them going to jail for being sh*tty people.
I’ve always loved how the characters would make a big deal out of something that’s stupid that’s what made it so funny some people just don’t understand the concept I don’t think
I weep for humanity.
Hard hitting statement
Same
Me personally I’ve always loved Seinfeld the humor is right up my alley but you have to remember everyone has a different sense of humor what I find funny someone else might not if you get what I mean.
Seinfeld did No Nut November first....
People are waaaayyy to serious. This show is classic and hilarious. I'm 23 and I watched it for the first time last year. Also they picked very controversial episodes on purpose to make them look bad.
Seinfeld has made $4 billion in syndication, so yes it has held up.
George Carlin was right about youth.
This is the big issue I had with this video. I liked seeing their reactions, but I really did not like their insights.
Literally watched his whole show a year ago when I was 13 and thought it was hilarious. People are easily offended.
Remember fun?
Pepperidge farm remembers!
Oh i member !
Member when people could take a joke?
remember when you could make something creative without it having to pass a test? yeah i remember
How's your dad roach dog?
My take away from this episode is that Luis is the one with the best sense of humor.
Does it hold up? Seinfeld never went nowhere, people still love it today. Hulu bought the show for $150 milllion just for the streaming licence 2 years ago.
Morgan needs to take a god damn chill pill
If South Park can still be shown on the air in 2018, literally any other show can too. I don't see the point of this series
Such a good point!
Anyone who's said this doesn't hold up clearly hasn't seen It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Yep. There's a reason Sunny is refered to as Seinfeld on crack.
We're all doomed.
My thoughts exactly.
