Yep, had this as a boy in the late ‘70s. Played it so much, it drove my sister nuts! Those Disney story albums were a lot of fun.

If I had had this when I was growing up it would have been worn out. I grew up in the 80s and my deepest, fondest memory is the movie but this would have come in second. Also, growing up in the 80s the special effects held up perfectly. In some cases I was aware that the effects were better than some others. I miss those far better days.

I got this album when I was a kid and was SO disappointed. At the time I also owned an album of Disney's "In Search of the Castaways" which contained a great deal of the complete motion picture soundtrack, including the dialogue. For that time, It was the next best thing to owning the movie. This was the mid 1960's. Anyway, I assumed THIS album would be the same and asked to receive it for either Christmas or my birthday. My parents bought it for me and all I can say is, "What a disappointment!" I HATED it. Even as a child I thought the acting was dreadful. First of all that you have that hideous excuse for a French accent by the one "actor" and then you have an "actor" trying to impersonate a seal. Sounds like a man with something lodged in his throat. in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same actor doing all the roles. It doesn't even conclude with the same climactic ending as the movie. Needless to say. I listened once and hated it and then tried to talk myself into liking it with a couple more listens. Lol. Couldn't do it. Regardless of how much I disliked it, it was VERY amusing to find it here on You Tube and relive a funny memory.
