If get a hit pull the rod straight up and reel. I've noticed if you pull straight away like he did it pulls the bait out of their mouth and you will lose more
Hi Chase, this vid was filmed on Sam Rayburn. You'll find bass at various stages of the spawn on huge systems like this. Overall though, we figured we were 2-3 weeks post spawn for the bulk of the bass.
Wired2Fish thanks for the info, I have a high school state tournament at Toledo Bend in a few weeks and they are spawning right now at Toledo and some are post spawn, I’ll definitely try a jerk bait though.
Allan Hise it does but it's fairly minimal if you use smaller ones. Personally I don't use them in the late winter early spring when I pause a jerkbait for longer periods in cold water or don't want the nose down action. He's fishing post-spawn in this video and fishing it fairly quickly as a search bait. A snap definitely won't hurt you in that scenario.
Love that shadow rap great action and super sharp hooks.
One of my favorite jerk baits. Man the Shadow Rap is sweet and the shadow rap shad is a fish catcher to.
I just caught all my bass like this on a grass lake in Florida...which is something I didn't think would work but it did!
Awesome! That's what we love to hear!

LrTiger01 if that's a 6 1/2 my PB is a 10 😂 naw more like 4 or 4 1/2
"If a fish touches it, he's in the boat"... he says in a video where he lost one.
keltonzac he also says "that's a 6.5 pounder" for a 3.5-4 at best
70% of the time they work 100% of the time.
Lol. That was maybe a 4.
JoobyFoo for sure
agreed
Love the video but 6 1/2 lbs?
Kenny Testa I know right, looked like a 20 pounder to me
How long after the transition is it when he fished this. Is it right after the spawn, like a week after of a month?

Jerkbaits are worth a try during and just after the spawn too. Prespawn being prime of course. Have a good one - Ryan.

does the snap change the balance of the bait when it's suspended?

Some people go fishin to get away from screens. Some go fishin to look at screens.
What was water temp?
Hi Joe, this was a while ago but recall it being in the low 70s.
@@Wired2Fish I like throwing a deep diving jb up until they go deep deep. I'd say 73-75 bout my limit on temp.
i know coop from alabama
"If a fish touches it, he's in the boat."
