While in the service I was able to actually visit 3 of the sites history hunter has posted about and they did a beautiful job of documentation of those places they are very tied to documenting each location . The Guernsey Islands were the first place I was able to visit and a distant relative escorted me to see almost every site on the Island's including some not currently open to the public . It was heart wrenching , they do great work I only wish that history hunter would watch his health closer !...!...!

I think the most interesting thing (and human thing) in those WW2 Christmas photos is that all the guys looking at the camera are like any photo, yet all of those focused on the Christmas Tree look so wistful and far away, and seem to be wishing just to be home with their families.
