I agree with your choice of the C4W but I'm really looking for the EZVIZ model of this camera that powers direct from mains so it can replace an existing outdoor light.
I am using the ring cameras along with the ring doorbell. Both powered with a battery and solar panel charger and for what they offer and my needs I can’t fault the ring cameras at all.
Is the night quality good also on those? I know my Nest doorbell the day night quality is good. The night isn’t as good as my own cctv but still useful.
@@DIYJourney1 I have the original ring door bell and the night quality isn’t the best however the new model the night quality has vastly improved which is making me think of upgrading. The camera night quality I think is pretty decent and I can’t complain about it at all.
Can you circle back with how well they last? I've had several people tell me that while the ring doorbell cameras are good, the other models last just over their warranty and tend to crap out (eg planned obsolescence). Would be great to get some other people real world use.
@@tsnorquist I have the solar panel mount on the door bell and it gets sun light all day and even in these darker winter days it never goes below 45% charge and then the solar panel trickle charges it back up. Obviously the more sun it gets the higher it keeps the battery charged me I really can’t fault them to be honest. I have the camera on solar panels as well and they last just the same.
@@K33P3RTommo apologies, I meant the lifespan of the equipment, not lifespan of daily use/charge. This might be a year in the making question and answer. Thanks
Hi, Nice informative video. I'm looking for some advice please. I live in a flat and I am the upper storey of two (Ground & 1st Floor). I'm thinking of buying the EZVIZ C4W model just to cover my front door area really. I cannot install one of these high and out of reach, as there's only 10 -15 inches between the top of my door frame and the start of the roof/guttering. My concern is with it being within reach, anyone could unscrew it quite easily from the baseplate or at least tamper with it. I've looked at the online manual for this model (which isn't that great to be honest) and it does seem to suggest that once you have fixed the baseplate in place, the camera just goes in with a clockwise turn Would that be the case, are they easily unscrewed? Just to give you an idea of how reachable it would be, it would be at about the height of the row of bricks above your triple window. Where your stonework starts, is where my guttering is and then the roof tiles start. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hi, I have seen many reviews of C3X and finally bought the camera about a month back, since then I am regretting my decision. The connectivity is major issue, camera is heating up and no one response from customer care. Now I almost invested $800 on these cameras so I have to find a solution, can you please support me to understand following If I give Ethernet connection to Camera will it solve the connectivity issue, I believe the answer is yes but then how I 1. Use the app and see the footage, operate other functions. Will the app still be useful? 2. I have NVR connected to router, so with LAN wire recording should be better and camera won't go offline again and again (mot of the cameras are going offline every 10/15 minutes, will this issue will be taken care with LAN connection) I have many many question, but if you can help me with above that would be really really helpful
Hi there, I use C3W, C3WN, C6T, C6C, C6CN, C1C, C2C (Mini O Plus), C1HC using Wifi Connectivity and no Problem. I Think the probe is how wifi Signal passes through obstacles in buildings such as Walls, Glass, Trees, Etc to the Device. Because that is the downside of Wifi. My advice : 1. Use LAN cables for a more stable connection. 2. Use a Repeater or Wifi Signal Booster. I hope it works
Love this video!!! Thanks for the collab.
Any time, thank you for your help as always 👌🏻

Can you set recording to 24/7 or it just records when theres a motion?
If I remember correctly, these do both. For me I prefer motion detection.
@@DIYJourney1 ok thanks, would you say the c4w is tamperproof ?
I'm confused - is Mr DVS (who's vids I love) called Dave or Daitech?
Dave

is c4w the camera that can move up down left right , pan and tilt ,, in this video ,, the only cctv camera in this video that can do that ,,
I don’t believe the C4W can do that. There are also many other cameras that can pan and tilt. Search PTZ
Don't buy it sucks big time......did you try to connect over LAN? dit you check the the C4W takes up 2 wifi IP addresses?
I didnt buy it.
I didn’t require to connect via LAN
I had no need to check ip addresses
