- ➣ In 1883, a year before Vietnam surrendered to French colonial rule, the country’s feudal government, the Nguyễn Dynasty, saw changes in leadership three times, with four separate emperors, one of them only lasted for three days. So, how did this happen?

The German empire had three Emporers in one year but it's far less spectacular. The first Emporers died and his son died only a few weeks after him and so Wilhelm the second it was.
if i had a penny for everytime a monarchy had more than two rules in a short period of time i would have two pennies which isn't much but it's weird it happened twice
Roman empire: finally a worthy opponent!
And the second (name was Frederick III) was actually expected to not last very long since at the time of his father's death he was diagnosed with throat cancer
@@cgt3704 He was a very heavy smoker. But considering between his wife, his father and especially Bismarck in those year. Yeah i can understand why he need it.
There are 3 emperors born by one man
One dead, one alive and defeated one

It is sad. The fate of these emperors stuck between the forces of the French, and the imperial bureaucrats.
A small note: The Nguyễn government and most of it predecessors since abut the Lý Dynasty wouldn't sit right with the "feudal government" classification. While Vietnamese textbooks do use "phong kiến" - which roughly translate to "feudal" to describe the system, this isn't very accurate. A more accurate description would be "quân chủ chuyên chế" - an absolute, centralized monarchy with the Imperial Court in Thăng Long or later Huế holding the ultimate authority de jure and de facto (not counting the times those dynasties fall, since those were often just pure warlord chaos between influential generals) .
Tribal leaders in the Northern mountains bordering China generally enjoyed more autonomy, but they don't inherently dislike the Imperial Court since cooperation often benefitted both.
iam really liking the short but still well done videos, alot youtubers just long form video about topics like (which isn't bad) but it's is refreshing to some on the point video
Nguyen Dynasty: Four Emperors in One Year
Imperial Rome: Five Emperors In One Year
Imperial Rome: Do it again. And make it six
the next 2 after Kiến Phúc (Hàm Nghi and Đồng Khánh) also didn't last long, with one was removed after 1 year and the other died young after 3 years.
What happened to your older videos?

Minh Mạng of the Nguyễn Dynasty and Lê Thánh Tông of the (Later) Lê Dynasty are my favorite Rulers, too bad both of them were overlooked by the current regime for being ruthless conquerors and not fit the strong and resilient victim of the time mentality that is being promoted
Minh Mạng's diplomacy and national policy are bad. Rebellions everywhere. Losing Trấn Ninh
Lê Thánh Tông were pretty revered tho, his Hồng Đức law, his rulership and even his love for poetry were taught extensively and mentioned in good light across the Vietnamese school program.
As for Minh Mạng, I'd say he was pretty controversial. Vietnam under his rule reached some new heights but also that's where the cracks began to show .
Lmao lê thánh tông are not overlook
@@jerryle379 Lê Thánh Tông to Vietnam is like Suleiman Magnificent to Ottoman empire :)))) cant be overlook.
