I know. I don't think some of them realise how difficult and challenging this job is. I like the video by tnsnameoralong. It presents this piece with the music score. Beethoven: Choral Fantasia Op.80 It takes ages to master such a piece.
I cannot imagine who decided to chop off the solo piano section which begins the Choral Fantasy, but since the remaining parts are intact, I'll say that the performance is magical. Then again, is anything that Hélène Grimaud plays NOT magical?

Cet opus 80 de Beethoven est une pure merveille, insuffisamment connue. Hélène Grimaud est une pianiste remarquable et une femme d'une beauté stupéfiante. L'orchestre est bon mais le chœur est une calamité!
I think the disappointment with with Helene is missing the point. In a concerto it is the soloist who is in charge. Here though the piano is just one instrument and the conductor is in charge. He's got orchestra to control and the choir, and the pianist has to be balanced with those other forces, and the person to do that is the conductor. The net result is that she cannot entirely do her own thing.
This performance has come in for a lot of musical criticism (see others' comments here). Indeed the vocal soloists and choir are not up to international standards, and Grimaud seems to be having an off day. Could this performance have been meant for other than critical acclaim? All we get of the fourth movement is 6:16, when the full movement is about 19:00. Nearly 13:00 has been omitted. (There _are_ three other movements; where are they? This isn't all of Beethoven's Choral Fantasy.) Also, look at the lighting design and camera work: they seem more typical of a filmed popular-superstar event than of a documented symphony concert. In addition, Grimaud had been having health problems (pneumonia and CFS in 2005, stomach cancer with chemo etc in 2011); I don't know when this concert was recorded, but it might be possible that she wasn't feeling her best. -- For a better recording that is more typical of her skills, I recommend the one she recorded with Esa-Pekka Salonen in Sweden in 2003: ruclips.net/video/_Km7p-t7PYY/видео.html.

quelques pains, mais le piano est bas ,pas accordé avec l orchestre, c'est tres perturbant pour une pianiste avec autant d oreille. Quand les choeurs entrent ils sont a un autre diapason que le piano (mais je dirait quils sont plus justes) .enfin ... le piano est in instrument "faux de par sa nature" mais c'est a l accordeur de créer l illusion Dommage je ne connaissais pas cette piece qui est sans doute magnifique
