The thing I love most about Silicon Valley is that they didn't dumb it down and they used all real tech language and real stuff -- might have taken liberties somewhere, but the foundation was all accurate, and they managed to make it understandable even to people who aren't into computers. It just goes to show, you have to respect your audience and you get great results.
Also keep in mind not dumbing it down actually requires more skill - because you have to actually go and consult with experts. While if you just leave comedy writers with no experts they'll come up with random stuff because they don't know what they're talking about. I never groaned while watching Silicon Valley as a tech guy it's surprising how much stuff was grounded in reality and real - while also being over the top. Such a brilliant show.
And he ended on a call back joke to book-end it. That's professionalism right there, kinda stuff you'd expect from top a ranked actor that has appeared in prestigious films such as Yogi Bear. It really is true, "Life is a pic-a-nic"
+Dermot Moriarty Yeah, she's awful right? Uninteresting and interrupting the comedians while they're making jokes. She did it with TJ Miller 3 times...fuckin stupid annoying bitch.
Russ says the exact same thing Mark Cuban once said about sitting naked and refreshing to check when he's hitting a billion, just with some added swears and a dick joke XD
Why didn't the audience ask more questions!? Who selects the hip hop end credit songs? And how does that music relate to the story? Will Mike Judge ever make a cameo on the show? What would they do with the show should the tech bubble burst? etc.
Jody Robert Ford honesty TJ Miller said it in the beginning, they are all 20-30 and are addicted to their phones like a bunch of clones. Probably on Snapchat or IG. These people can’t even enjoy a concert without their phones. Sad reality but it’s true.
Anyone catch the part in this where they asked for questions, see movement but then realize the people were just leaving? Rather similar to Gavin Belson in season 4 :O
that Prayer app with the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Regardless of whether you're a Believer, the whole point of prayer if they have a personal connection with your deity or whatever. it's about communing. WTF would you have a phone do it for you?
You know how I know Rashida is a Comedian's Comedian? 5 years working with Rob Lowe and I never saw her lick her lips looking at him like she does at 1:28 looking at Mike Judge.
They didn't do any prep for this. Rashida Jones prepped and did her best to keep the flow going. The audience is too timid or too serious or dead to laugh.
That was so damn good. I'm impressed but not really surprised, they have an A+ team. Rashida was awesome trying and not really succeeding to stay serious.
+Nelson Martinez This comment was made a whole month ago and nobody has yet referenced your comment about Rashida blowing something... What the hell RUclips commenters? ...C'mon let's have some juvenile smut pls
yeah, this whole interview i was thinking she was doing a terrible job, and didn't seem to realize it. part of the interviewer's job is getting the audience to connect with the subjects, so i kind of blame her for the low audience energy as well.
Russ Hanneman seems more like an older version of Sean Parker. The heavy partier, portrayed as obnoxious in the Social Network, famous for making money at the turn of the millenium for putting music on the internet (Napster).
I'm always disappointed when I see Mike Judge in an interview 'cos I always think he's going to be hilarious and full of life. The guy has trouble finding the words every time he speaks. Its like he's caught off-guard with every question. It really kills the vibe in a comedic environment
if anybody watched till the end,the interviewer did'nt quite get producers joke of all these tech giants bullshitting about "making the world a better place"!?
The thing I love most about Silicon Valley is that they didn't dumb it down and they used all real tech language and real stuff -- might have taken liberties somewhere, but the foundation was all accurate, and they managed to make it understandable even to people who aren't into computers. Bernice got it.
Not like The Big BANG Theory!
33e3rtatr5q4a5tt5rqrtra5t5q555qttqq5at IQ has qq5ttr Q rrateqqrr5a4
Similar with Mr. Robot
Also keep in mind not dumbing it down actually requires more skill - because you have to actually go and consult with experts. Beavis & Butthead, Office Space, King of the Hill, Idiocracy, Silicon Valley... Mike Judge is an absolute genius.
Agreed!
Don’t forget Daria
Extract got low reviews but is a PERFECTLY Mike Judge movie and if you like his sense of humor, you will love it. Love that movie.
Rashida Jones, you are one of the most beautiful people to ever grace the earth!
she is a delightful land mermaid
Stop it Amy Poehler, we know it's you
Holy shit TJ Miller has impeccable comedic timing. That very last punchline was 10/10
Like a gun! but DEAR GOD he is almost as much of a walking id as Erlich
the section around 18:30 is particularly funny... "eh-lahn müsk"
And he ended on a call back joke to book-end it. That's professionalism right there, kinda stuff you'd expect from top a ranked actor that has appeared in prestigious films such as Yogi Bear. It really is true, "Life is a pic-a-nic"
This statement has veracity
Ross Champion lmao
I bet Rashida wanted the Monica role.
I thought there wasn't an audience until 3:13 when I turned the brightness up, either they are the most polite or unresponsive people ever.
The vibe is so awakaward
Dinesh arrives @ 4:25 😆
Rashida Jones.
That is all.
+Dermot Moriarty Yeah, she's awful right? Uninteresting and interrupting the comedians while they're making jokes. She did it with TJ Miller 3 times...fuckin stupid annoying bitch.
That's not hat I was getting at. . . at all.
good luck being a bitch tho.
*****
I dunno but you're definitely a bitch.
*****
That was an obstacle that i was hoping to keep private, sad fuck :D
Dermot Moriarty Well played dipshit.
under appreciated panel, tj miller is comic genius
Actually makes sense that Russ is based on Mark Cuban
+Bernadette Lindres Him and Sean Parker
Bernadette Lindres is he?
Russ says the exact same thing Mark Cuban once said about sitting naked and refreshing to check when he's hitting a billion, just with some added swears and a dick joke XD
Sean Parker
Napster
This whole vid is worth watching just for the way TJ Miller says "Elon Musk" at 18:30
Best comedy in years, Mike Judge continues to make pure gold!
Why didn't the audience ask more questions!?
Who selects the hip hop end credit songs? And how does that music relate to the story?
Will Mike Judge ever make a cameo on the show?
What would they do with the show should the tech bubble burst? etc.
+BdR76 you should have been there, you would've been great
Yeah, it was like they were dazed or something. I would ask the actors where they got their shoes or whatever. Anything but staying silent!
The music doesn't have to relate to the story it's just someone thought that song would sound and make the shot look really badass and it did.
And who came up with ''chortling on my balls'' joke?
i think there is a tapeout or release in google that day. thats why audience did not ask question
terrible audience
Eight years ago people thought Mark Cuban was a joke and Elon Musk was wise. Times change.
ANNE PERKINS!
Great show. Interesting interview. Dead audience. Where were they?
+Jody Robert Ford It's a nerd audience. Give them a break.
In their defense, the theater was probably jam packed with a bunch of socially awkward dweebs.
+Jody Robert Ford I think they weren't mic'd well
It's the vanity fair new establishment summit. I would blow my brains out.
Jody Robert Ford honesty TJ Miller said it in the beginning, they are all 20-30 and are addicted to their phones like a bunch of clones. Probably on Snapchat or IG. These people can’t even enjoy a concert without their phones. Sad reality but it’s true.
T. J. Miller is a fucking legend, man. His comedic timing and delivery are on fucking point. I love that dude.
That comment by TJ Miller about Entourage and Hollywood celebrity culture is pure GOLD!
Beautiful, beautiful Ann.
Rashida is so brilliant, she is perfect for this.
its sad that nobody was asking questions....SMH
Anyone catch the part in this where they asked for questions, see movement but then realize the people were just leaving? Rather similar to Gavin Belson in season 4 :O
'It's just you know T.J .. MILLING about the wards ..' well played my whimsical friend, well-played.
10:45 Mike Judge asks a question, did Rashida answer it without it being directed to her? Lmao
I love this show! Episode 1 of season 3 was a great opener. Can't wait to see what's to come.
Awesome interview, awful crowd.
p.s. you can just hear the smallest inkling of Hank Hill in Mike Judge's voice
Where the fuck is Gilfoyle?
Nice gold chain TJ.. Rashida Jones on point!
19:00 that laugh..
I like how Waze is now used by like everyone for directions, lol
Jeez TJ looks like he doesn't get along with Amanda. She corrects him at 22:50 and he looks absolutely pissed.
I’m absolutely pissed at you because ur time stamp brought me directly to an ad
@@larryfisherman6449 Oops, sorry. I have my ad blocker on for everything except channels I want to support so didn't even realize.
😭😭😭 amazing catch.
Oh I loved when he said "Militant atheists". I have never heard anyone say that before while I've been using it myself for 40 years.
I just discovered this show about a month ago , watched it all, sad I'm done, looking forward to season 6 in October.
Amanda Crew & Rashida Jones . Two Beauties in the same room, UGGGGH ;-)
These two women just description of my beauty vision. OMG! I like the show but I only watched for these two perfect women
Its not really a Silicon Valley cast interview without Kumail Nanjiani.
I binged it on a Sunday night I looked at my phone and it was 4:30am.
that is a good interviewer
" eileen mosque " lmao
"Success is one of the possible outcomes"
"Failure is the most likely outcome"
I like the show, season 1 was the weakest and season 2 the strongest.
that Prayer app with the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Regardless of whether you're a Believer, the whole point of prayer if they have a personal connection with your deity or whatever. it's about communing. WTF would you have a phone do it for you?
The irony of Hollywood talking about how Silicon Valley is ridiculous...
Because... They're kind of one in the same.
rashida was not the right host for this
elucia12 I think she unintentionally was the perfect host
Wait, a sec, this is the Mike Judge of "King of the Hill? " This guy is a God!!
Amanda Crew's character is the grand niece of Monty Hall.
where is the part where jones stands up?
One of them is the least attractive to person i have ever seen. I'm not going to say who.
👀
Call me crazy, but the outro on this video is the inside out theme but sped up...
Awesome show and cast but Rashida kinda made the interview a bit boring
What! No Gilfoyle?! I'm out of here. Hail Satan!
You know how I know Rashida is a Comedian's Comedian? 5 years working with Rob Lowe and I never saw her lick her lips looking at him like she does at 1:28 looking at Mike Judge.
RASHIDAAAAAAAAA
Googling "Tip to tip" you actually get the intended result
It seems as though Rashida doesn't appreciate TJ's awesomeness.
we love Rashida
Fun Fact: Thomas Middleditch is not Jewish, but Rashida Jones is.
Mike Judge is a genius!!!
How did no one ask questions?!
TJ Miller be like "Maniacs" 😂😂😂
Come on. TJ had to ask himself if anyone had heard of GrubHub?! Geez
need more episodes.. longer episodes also..
What's up with the Inside Out music at the end
what an amazing audience!
They didn't do any prep for this. Rashida Jones prepped and did her best to keep the flow going. The audience is too timid or too serious or dead to laugh.
T. J Miller being Erlich Bachman
That was so damn good. I'm impressed but not really surprised, they have an A+ team. Rashida was awesome trying and not really succeeding to stay serious.
T.J hands down the funniest on this stage.
Welp, now I know where Mike came up with the Butthead "uhhhh"
Total disappointment: big round ZERO questions about Aviato :)
Was there tension with TJ and Tom with Rashida?
Thomas points out the redundancy of saying "LAN network". That's me guys. I'm that guy. Fuck.
Why did Rashida Jones, of all people, moderate this?
where can I get one of those chairs?
I hate HBO and Vanity fair but this is a good show and Ms Jones is wonderful 👏
I love the show but Rashida blew this one. She didn't connect with them.
+Nelson Martinez This comment was made a whole month ago and nobody has yet referenced your comment about Rashida blowing something... What the hell RUclips commenters? ...C'mon let's have some juvenile smut pls
+Dr Tune Even the audience for this video sucks
yeah, this whole interview i was thinking she was doing a terrible job, and didn't seem to realize it. part of the interviewer's job is getting the audience to connect with the subjects, so i kind of blame her for the low audience energy as well.
I thought she did a great job. It wasn't the best interview in the world, but I enjoyed it
Moreover, it seemed as though the audience had a giant stuck up their collective ass.
She needs to wear pencil skirts all the time
I love all of Mike Judge's stuff. He's one of my all time favorite comedy writers. But he's, surprisingly, not very funny in real life.
All I know is that I NEED a Dior purse
this is so awkward
Richard's character needs to develop. Every episode is funny but depressing.
And at the end he never developed
T.J Miller is just amazing.
Russ Hanneman seems more like an older version of Sean Parker. The heavy partier, portrayed as obnoxious in the Social Network, famous for making money at the turn of the millenium for putting music on the internet (Napster).
Tough room
didnt alec berg write on seinfeld as well?
Yep and curb your enthusiasm
I've never seen someone being so bad at hosting a panel. Great show though...
Pity the audience wasn't awake for this...
those chairs do not look comfortable.
What's the outro tune?
I'm always disappointed when I see Mike Judge in an interview 'cos I always think he's going to be hilarious and full of life. The guy has trouble finding the words every time he speaks. Its like he's caught off-guard with every question. It really kills the vibe in a comedic environment
wow, im so blind! i did not know russ was based on cuban!
+zo ro I thought he was loosely based on Sean Parker.
Hence the "several people" thing.
This show is amazing....and Rashida Jones and Amanda Crew are low key hot as fuck.
motorheadbanger90 low key? Wat
It so sad that TJ got a falling out with the rest
Is he talking about THE waze? Cause they got bought by Google for $1.3B...
+jaymur001 I'm pretty sure he was joking. TJ is so quick witted.
waze was bought for 1.3 billion sooooooooooo
Love the show! So good.
So awkward. So awesome.
if anybody watched till the end,the interviewer did'nt quite get producers joke of all these tech giants bullshitting about "making the world a better place"!?
I can't believe people are not laughing!
