Radiant Bow is S to me: base mt 19 means 57 damage against fliers regardless of your magic stat. +1 is easy enough for that clean 60. Wyvern Knights turn to ash on sight. For griffins you may want some magic to overcome their res
Raidant bow and killer bows kept my team going, along with the engage bows, as fliers have gotten buffed by not being burdened by the beast weaknesses anymore. Not only that, but also considering that skirmishes will not let you stay overpowered by scaling enemies to your overall team level, fliers are deceptively bulky (that sometimes even a mage can have trouble killing them) and can kill your units if you underestimate them. It's definitely necessary to have a bow on hand, even if you don't field archers.
Also I would argue radiant bow definitely can be comparable to magic and levin sword sure it doesn't have enemy phase but a lot of characters really shouldn't Enemy phasing anyways And it has way higher damage potential with Hitting fliers if you hit a flyer especially wivern with a magic bow they're guaranteed to die you don't even need magic growth
There is no Bow Power in the game, but with Gentility/Bravery + you can add 20 true damage while quading with the Brave Bow. It also pairs very well with Astra Storm from Lyn. If you are using DLC then weapon sync is also another option.
The thing I love about the radiant bow is that against fliers, Mt triples, and the Radiant bow is king of Mt. Basically, the Mt difference triples. For the most notably weapons, Hurricane Axe is 60, Radiant Bow at 57, Silver at 39, Steel at 30, killer at 21, iron at 18, and brave at 12. For C rank Warriors, the Radiant Bow will be their best damaging option against fliers unless they have 27 more points of Str than Mag. Even base Panette doesn't hit this. She'd need about 12 levels in Warrior. For B or A rank, that's still an 18 point gap between Radiant and Silver. And even if the gap is overcome, the Radiant Bow will still be able to hit Wyverns harder due to hitting Res instead of Def. This actually makes the Radiant bow worth considering even on Panette for a good chunk of the game. For bow units with even decent magic, it's a no brainer.
After a couple of playthroughs of running Etie (I know), Alcryst and attempting to make other snipers I have concluded that archery once again sucks in Engage. It just falls off so hard on maddening late game. The best way to deal with fliers is to just engage and use the bows provided by the emblems. Just treat your Edelgard, Lyn and Lucina holders as snipers while engaged. With the dlc rewards you can even upgrade Parthia and Failnaught a little. No reason to run a bow unless you have a Warrior.
In Madenning, you generally dont want archers to be attacked, period. Little point in adding it, its best to have units specialized in a single thing, rather than having units that can do a little bit of everything
Since your guide on Lindon I've been running him in Sniper with killer, radiant and longbow. He just destroys every flying unit, pokes with the longbow and deal real decent damage overall with like 90-100% crit killer bow
if you have the dlc getting brute force from the chrom ring would be huge in adding dmg to his crits im running him in my current playthough with that and there is very little he cant kill
Very niche but Claude bond ring gives +1 bow range when at full hp which makes mini bows 1-2 range. Kind of like mystics with byleth having 3 range surge/elsurge.Still has 3 base might and you lose it as soon as you take a hit or level up hp though.
Alcryst with killer bow is one of the best boss killers in the game imo, he procs a luna crit and a whole boss health bar is gone, one of the easist reliable warp dives is just the micaiah user, seadall, byleth ring user and alcryst and you even have an extra slot to bring in someone else for damage or rally spectrum or something, with 10 time crystal uses you can guarantee he lands all 4 of his kills without taking any damage back and after seadall's dance he's only more reliable because of the dex increase
The only class that gets an extra bow rank from bow users like Alcryst, Fogado, and Etie is Warrior. Bow knight gets an extra rank in its other weapon if they have a boon in that weapon. (Fogado on warriors with brave axe, silver bow, and Sigurd is broken)
(yes, 2nd comment) did you know that the Croissbow doesn't even have Flying effectiveness? I'm not trolling, it doesn't have the effectiveness icon like the other bows
Mini Bow is really good on Lief emblem Bow users. As enemy units dont understand Adaptability. Early game before Alcrest gets Lyn, giving Alcrest a leveled Mini Bow, with a + might, and weight Enchant. A long Bow, and a killer/Steel Bow for 2 range. Alcrest becomes an incredible enemy phase unit by putting him on an avoid tyle. He becomes a bulkier, stronger Yunaka, with more DPS, range. And can still do Alcrest things with Luna on armors, and killing flyers where other covers couldn't easily.
Radiant bow is really good, just if we have a class that can fully utilizes this bow. Like all bow classes have no magic growth and their magic cap is low. Some radiant bow build using Anna, she will hit magic cap pretty fast. You can pair a bow night/ warrior/sniper with chrom too because he will give +10 mag if engaged. You know I wish that we get more interesting classes than enchanter and mage cannoneer (more disappointed on the later)
Radiant Bow Mauvier is AMAZING. I gave it the Fire Emblem Engraving alongside some forges and it easily dispatches of all flying units in the game (ok they survive with like 2 or 3 HP depending on the map etc. but that happens because I forget to buy Magic Tonics and don't abuse chain attacks well enough) If I ever replay Maddening (currently chapter 24) I will definitely use this amazing weapon earlier.
If bow users had Claudes bond ring (not emblem bracelet) skill wind (+ 1 range to bows at full HP) inherently, when bow users could be better at enemy phasing with just a mini bow equipped (1-2 range and a 2-4 range longbow). Instead you have to ring grind for the bond ring after getting Byleth similar to Olwens Dire Thunder ring ones you get Leif.
Brave bow is a Etie thing, high base strength good strength growth. Still a B-tier (at best) weapon though, no bow power and you have to be in sniper/bow knight to use it. Brave Axe/Sword/Lance have power skills, Axe/Sword have better classes (Warrior/Hero), and Lance has a arguably better class of Halberdier. But to put a nail in the coffin is, last I checked there is no Bow version of Armor/Great knight/Paladin/Wolf Knight, or worst of all no bow flier. The fact is if I want to use brave bow I have two options, Sniper/Bow Knight. If I want to use any other Brave Weapon I have Great Knight, Mage knight, General, Wyvern Rider, Griffin Knight, Wolf Knight, Hero (Swords only), Warrior (Axe only), Royal Knight (Lance only), Paladin, and each weapon's S rank class (Swordmaster, Berserker, Halberdier). 2 options vs 7, and they are competing with classes as good as Warrior and Mage knight. P.S, Mage Knight, Wyvern Rider, Wolf Knight, Great Knight all need a character weapon proficiency to promote B to A.
@Iced Coffee Gaming Yeah I kinda did it as like a joke meme build and then I realized oh wait being able to triple your damage every time it's no longer meme even with low strength lmao
Lensabair is such an underwhelming bow, imo. Ch. 24 and being S rank locked is not goof, especially when a Silver Bow +1 has sooooo much more availability, less weight, and only 1 less might. I honestly wish they broke convention and made it a Smash bow with like 38 Mt to make it really unique. Tl;dr: it's budget Mulagir without the speed for Alcryst when he isn't engaged with Lyn.
Since there is no bow power and the fact we have the well and DLC, Alcryst can use the brave bow and equip Lyn and get weapon sync from Edelgard and he’ll always be doing crazy damage
I did a meme build with dlc in an all lords run with figado and for a joke melee I made him a +5 mini bow with Hectors engraving it ended up becoming a great trap bow to trick the ai into attacking him and procing his back at you skill which I paired up with reprisal so that was funny what was actually good about it was that it's stupidly low weight only got up to a 12 on Hector which was still lower then the build I had on him so he still doubled and the Mt got up to 10 so it did more damage then it ever really should have
So far my favorite use of the Radiant Bow is forging one for Jean as soon as he can promote and 2nd seal to warrior, to use what magic stat he has carry him while turining into a late game physical juggernaut (who may be 2nd sealed to wyvern).
I could confirm that using killer bow on a warrior is great for crit builds. I used it with killer bow with Panette and she managed to one shot crit everything with both killer bow and killer axe. Only downside is that you got to use two engraving instead of one but I think it's worth it if you're willing to use two on one unit
As far as I concerned Sniper is the only decent Covert class late game. From Byleth's speed instruct (and Failnaught) to 20 range Astra Storms it's a class worth using for the emblem bonuses.
Alcryst brave bow+0 lunar brace+ can 1 round any unit too though, why waste materials on lendabair and waste material and engraving? And waste ton of sp with stat+ skills when lunarbrace+ is all he needs? Why waste 5 dex when without 5 dex his proc is going to be 48% which is 1 in 2 probability that luna will proc? And at 53 dex it will also be the same 1 in 2 probability that luna will proc?
@@kiretan8599 I was trying to use everything. Especially S rank weapons I really like them. And I was hoping Alear without reclassing from Divine Dragon class to be able to use Divine Fist Art but nope nadda. Also the Stat skills I was making him a specialist that procs his Luna without other Emblem rings but Lyn
fun fact! the croissbow doesnt have flier effectiveness, so basically, it sucks!

come on, Veyle. You aren't supposed to EAT IT. wait, can you eat the weapons even if you can't use them?
Well they are a one time emergency heal for my units. I haven't tried different weapon type on units. Might solve my dango stick problem
Claude shoulda gave you Close Counter when synced
Also I would argue radiant bow definitely can be comparable to magic and levin sword sure it doesn't have enemy phase but a lot of characters really shouldn't Enemy phasing anyways And it has way higher damage potential with Hitting fliers if you hit a flyer especially wivern with a magic bow they're guaranteed to die you don't even need magic growth

I for one but Lunar Brace on Everyone that I want to use Brave Weapons
Failnaught Emblem Weapon is also available on Byleth BUT only on Covert classes (and I think Divine Dragon)
On the DLC it’s good to go on any unit.
Unfortunately, dragon byleth just gets Amyr and nothing else
The thing I love about the radiant bow is that against fliers, Mt triples, and the Radiant bow is king of Mt. Basically, the Mt difference triples. For the most notably weapons, Hurricane Axe is 60, Radiant Bow at 57, Silver at 39, Steel at 30, killer at 21, iron at 18, and brave at 12.

Fogado gets some Mag in his personal class, not a lot, but enough to oneshot Fliers consistently with an upgraded Radiant Bow.

I like radiant bow a lot cus high mt means more effective damage. Also cus fogado did like 0 damage with anything other than a radiant bow lol

Since accuracy goes down when you get further and further away from the target, you also have to make sure the wearer has a good dex stat.
@@antoinehenderson1659 That's a thing in engage? Never actually heard that. Good to know.
