Stuck In an Outdoor ThyssenKrupp Impulse Elevator

- Note: This video doesn't represent my current videos. I question some things that I did during this video.
This is at Arroyo Roble Resort Breakfast Building in Sedona, AZ. The elevator was pretty hot, it was above 90 that day. I don't blame this on ThyssenKrupp, It's the people who maintain it. The machine room door is flat to the ground. Not good for floods. ThyssenKrupp makes good quality parts, their elevators are awesome! This isn't their fault!
*I visited this elevator a week later after getting stuck and it ran very good. This is a very nice elevator, it just shouldn't be exposed to water like this. All 3 stops are a ground floor and is level right to the ground. It is also on a hill and has 3 chances to come in!
It's not too fun. I can also see how this problem was not noticed. Every floor is handicap accessible from every floor. It is on a hill. That also explains the water that go into the shaft when it rains.

It doesn't seem so bad if it is glass. This one could have been easily made glass on the side.
I think most of the reason why it broke down is that it's so hot in arizona, with the fact that it sounds like it hasn't been moved for god knows how long I wouldn't be surprised if the interlock got jammed or something.
Very likely because it was VERY hot.
What you should have done was only press B since the elevator did move to 1 and then back to 2, maybe it reversed directions for the 2nd floor, next time only try pressing a floor where the 1 door operator works.
I can hear the door operator failing while you were stuck on this thing. I got the very same thing out of a Thyssenkrupp impulse elevator at my school when I got stuck in it. But what I heard is obviously louder because of the loud fan in the background of this video
I'll have to take a closer listen to the video. I guess we were both in the same situation!

@@elevatorswithESH I was a bit concerned because I stepped in the elevator, pushed the ground floor button and all the lights and buttons went out. (I think it was an electrical fault). Because after I got unstuck two minutes later, the elevator was closed for repairs.
It isn't "stuck" because it is moving the real problem is the doors are trying to open but they are jammed

Outdoors is a harsh environment for an elevator. They should always have them enclosed to avoid exposure to the elements.
I also noticed the outside elevators smell funny sometimes
The most important rules in the event that an elevator gets stuck...keep calm, even if you are claustrophobic, don't panic, press the door opener and if that doesn't work, ring the bell but keep it at short intervals and not continuously...also call the emergency number. ...only if you keep pressing all the floor buttons like crazy you will only make things worse and that doesn't work either
The interlock needs to be replaced for the door that would not open. The controller needs to be replaced as well.
The technician was not sure what was wrong with it, but a week later when I came back it was working! I also filmed it when it was working. It's actually a pretty good elevator, just shouldn't be exposed to water like this.

If I had never pressed 1, (other rear door) it probably would have gone down to B and I would have gotten out! (and complain to the front desk) :)

Man I can’t believe you got stuck in that Beautiful Thussenkrupp Elevator, I wonder why the rear doors that opens up on 1 & 2 were suddenly not working for some reason, and I think If you got stuck in that Elevator, Instead of calling for help, You should’ve just waited until the Elevator goes back down to B which is where the front door works like normal, Because apparently The Elevator thinks that the rear doors open and close, and when it’s closed the Elevator goes down to 1 and the same thing happens before it went up to 2 but not on B because The front doors are working.
I have a Thyssenkrupp Impulse Elevator at my church.
And I have 4 Separate Elevators at my School, And 2 of them are both Thyssenkrupp impulse, 1 Brand new Thyssenkrupp hydraulic, & And 1 really old Dover impulse that I almost got stuck in.
And all of them are single speed doors too.

About 4 months ago (In February) I got stuck in a DOVER Impulse elevator,
I was stuck for I think 45 minutes or maybe less, security couldn’t get me out so security had to call emergency services and 5 firemen (including the fire chief) had to get me out! The people that helped me were very nice!
I was very brave and was not scared at all! I'm brave right?
I was also stuck in between floors!!!
if you are stuck inbetween floors, so that the doors open and theres just concrete, then how do they get you out? i have a fear of this happening and im really curious what would happen
SbroGaming Well if it was a lot of space in between floors like at a mall setting where I was, if it's in between floors in some cases you'll have to climb on top of the elevator car and into the shaft. But you shouldn't worry in elevator rescues the fire department or police will most likely be there in that kind of situation and they turn off the power for the elevator in an elevator rescue plus elevators in the USA are the safest and most reliable meaning elevators in the USA have WAY more safety features and devices than you may think.

If theres alot of space between floors, the firemen has to manually lower or lift up the lift, which is actually possible.
It depends on the situation. If the intercom is ADA compliant then I'm not scared at ALL! But if the alarm dials an intercom I'm also NOT SCARE, but if there's only alarm THEN IM SCARE

The heat and knowing that this elevator gets used only about once a week was not a good thing.

Today at my school There was an electrical fire, and the electric went out on the 3rd floor! I was stranded in the dark for 30 minutes and a fireman had to get me out! Lol
That must be scary, especially when there is a fire in the building.
Haha nah. I'm not scared of stuff like that. But at least the entire school was evacuated and I got out. Lol go online and look up tottenville high school electrical fire!
Also I was alone, and the reason I got stuck was because the electric went out! So that meant the help box, and alarm DIDNT work! I had to call the school on my phone and let them know! Lmfaoo

He just checks if anything works, like if the lift will correct itself again if he goes to another floor, or that the door opener forgot to open and he had to open it by pressing door open. And pressing buttons won't make it worse as elevators are supposed to have their buttons pressed alot.

Elevator doors should have manual over ride levers so passengers can get out if the car is lined up with a floor. Also elevator control systems should be over ridden so motor can be activated to return elevator to nearest floor.
I agree. Most of time, the elevator car is lined or almost lined up with a floor. In this case, it was perfectly level with the 2nd floor landing. It would've been perfect.

When door operators usually break, they usually turn off the motor. You could have gotten out if you pulled the doors :P

Believe it or not it does! That is how I found out to get to a floor that uses the front door.

That's actually not the hydraulic motor, that's the fan. The hydraulic motor is one semitone lower than the fan. Call me crazy but I can actually hear the hydraulics as the elevator was going up.

I went to North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio Texas and I rode the elevators and they were ThyssenKrupp Impulse and I also rode other elevators and they were ThyssenKrupp but not Impulse and the ThyssenKrupp Impulse elevators had five floors and the ThyssenKrupp elevators had eight floors

Was probably stuck because The elevator thought the door was open therefore never moved because he kept smashing the door open button
Nope that's not the case. Spoke with a tech after. The elevator controller was aware the door was not opening.

Sometimes if you press the call cancel button it resets the controller and it starts up again I had to do that once

False, the indicator says thyssenkrupp, so this elevator was most likely installed after TK bought dover.

I can see how the muted audio degraded the video greatly. I'm not scared of sharing personal information anymore. This video is over a year old and I didn't like to share as much information as I do now.
