Me and my dad saw this game in a bargain bin in walmart when i was like maybe 5-6, so 1997-98. He asked me if it was a game that I'd want. I said no, like a complete idiot... I got it for Christmas anyway, and now at 27 I still love it and it's one of those games I play around Christmas time
The original Japanese one came with a FREE 2nd Link Disc! So you didn't need 2 copies of the game (if you imported anyway) Also playing the bonus games linked was awesome fun! This could have been Sony's Mario Kart if they kept it going.
What a smart idea! It's a shame more companies didn't try this since CDs were cheap to manufacture. I've always thought that's sorta why GT2 has two discs even though 95% of the content is redundant to both -- so that you could give/loan the arcade disc to someone and hopefully get them hooked.
In the 90s my dad was a director of Disney Imagineering and they would get all the new tech before the public. We got the PlayStation a year before the US launch and Motor Toon was one of the Japanese games they sent over. The other games were ridge racer and toshinden.
Can't believe Colourshed did a review on this game. I just booted it up, used to play with my dad and when we got bored we would try to blast our car as far off the map as possible
I had a demo disc as a kid with a video preview of this game, I remember being blown away by how fun the graphics looked and was convinced it would be the most fun game I've ever played. It seems like it might not be the best game ever but it does have a certain charm to it, looks like you could have some fun with it for a while.
I remember renting this game a couple times growing up, sure wish I had obtained a real copy of it because it truly is a fun time to be had! The popping colors and stretchy-ness of the models really brought the toon theme out so well. I had no idea we'd been playing the sequel here in the states.
Sonic R was a really good game for the time and managed to pull off a ton stuff that was considered technically impossible on the SATURN like reflections, transparencies, and gradual polygon fading.

I always loved that penguin car. It looked menacing and cool at the same time.
This is one of those games you completely forget about and when you watch it back you get a wash of nostalgia, that's how it is for me anyway
Whemever i get drunk i remember these games
One time me and jason had a sleepover and played this for 98 hours straight while smoking some good crack.

You didnt even talk about the music... so good
excellent review:)
I loved playing the game as a kid

None of that stuff has anything to do with making a game fun. Sonic R was trash
@@gaylordfocker7990 the game wasn’t trash. The controls were trash. If you kept circle to run and used l1-r1 to turn it’s actually good
Only five tracks may sound wimpy. Yet they put quite some details into each race track, at first I wasn't sure I was still riding the same coaster.
Will you review Omega Boost?
dem graphecs ain't no joak, dey funomenalz
The best review Channel :D
"Motor Toon Grand Prix"
Subtitles: more attuned ROM Prix
In my opinion this is still a great game today, controls great and is still alot of fun. This game is kinda pricey now though.
I found this for 5€ complete a month ago. Still have to play it.
I love this game in professional mode and beyond, its fairer and easier
Nice review, bro.
I have no idea what this game is about but with you reviewing it will be great
John Paul it is great, I only got it again a couple of days ago and I remember playing it as a kid
It's "Poly's Entertainment", not PLoy!
Typo in description.
Ridge Racer only has one track.
Any thoughts on Gran Turismo Sport?
Please do Muppet Race Mania review ;) !
polyphony also make another game call omega boost
Such a neat game! Not the best in terms of gameplay, but you can really start to see that Polyphony shine in the production values.
Review G police on ps1
giga chad game
Sorry, but graphics are awesome for its time. and it still looks good. I have seen much worser.
Draw distance is surprisigly good
I thought motor toon gp 2 is an excellent game. Sometimes I'd sit on the hill and watch the rest race. I even played the link up games.
