Yes sir! I don't know what was so special about that trip but I've been 3 times since then and been skunked by shoalies twice. Had my buddy go out there twice and get nothing. IDK what they are doing now.
Have u ever been to lake Sinclair? It’s got lots of fish and some bucket mouths too. I caught a 4.5 lb bass there last week and a channel catfish right around the 13-15lb mark the day before that.
Hi, I'm a new subscriber. I just moved from Philadelphia to Georgia a month ago and i was planning on heading to this dam in search of my first Shoal Bass this weekend. Do you know if they started the removal project? I can't find info on dates or anything. Thank you. Your videos are awesome by the way
I'm confused why you and others would think it's bad for shoal bass? It's well documented that dams are not suitable for shoal bass habitat. The less dam the better, in my opinion. Those shoal bass were there long before dams. Nice catch and video!!!
I’m just stating that these dams have produced the Georgia state record so it doesn’t sssm to be hurting too bad. Also have a buddy of mine that consistently pulls high 7 pounders out of here just missing the state record by ounces. These dams are producing higher quality shoalies than anywhere else I know.
@GeorgiaBassmaster Gotchya. I would imagine those fish are concentrated there because of the dam, not there because they like living near dams. Shoal bass migrate a lot up and down rivers. I'm sure it will affect that particular spot, unfortunately, but not the population as a whole.
Nice catch another great video. I'm in agreeance I think taking those dams out is going to hurt the shoal bass. Probably going to mess up the whole ecosystem of the whole river.
I think blowing up those dam might be good for the shoal bass population. Those dam was the main reason not as many location on that stretch of the hooch hold shoalie any more. If they blow up all those dam and have a continuous flowing river it should create more shoals throughout the whole river for the shoal bass to thrive. I believe those dam created too much flat waters. The float on that section will be way better with out those dam now. Look at the flint, I believe the flint only has two dam and it is the greatest shoal bass river. But that is just my opinion.
True but the flint hasn’t had to deal with the invasive spotted bass but for a few years now. The hooch is infested with them and even the stretch from Morgan falls all the way to West Point you will find very few shoal bass even with all the shoals.!
@@GeorgiaBassmaster I think you are probably both right. The dams create barriers and reduce the number of shoals. My thinking: higher upstream will result in better shoal fishing, while the lower area will see more hybridization and less shoal genes. DNR can combat the hybridization with rule changes both up and downstream, as well as more shoal stocking. It remains to be seen if they care that much, or just keep status quo because trout.
you probably killed that fish by pulling it all over the river just to get pics and a GA angler award? I don't think you deserve any award for poor treatment of that fish. Please educate yourself on proper handling of such a precious fish. Poor example of protecting the resource.
It was out of the water 1 minute tops. Swam away perfect. Go cry somewhere else slowflake. I’ve released thousands of fish and caught them again. Educate yourself dumb ass.
Damn good video! I hope I can find some hidden water this summer up here in Syracuse, NY. Thanx for the A-rig motivation✊🏾
They were fired up that day! Congrats on that giant, you deserved it. You have put in a lot of miles chasing that PB 👊🏾👊🏾

We shall see! That’s shY I think but I hope I’m wrong in this situation.

Yessir
Why would they destroy a fishery that keeps the supply of Georgia's most pristine Shoalie. I need to catch one to complete my slam this year
💫🤟🏾
Yee yee!
Dang who gives $13.00 for one bait...
It’s probably the best bait I’ve ever used lol. Caught 4 bass over 5 pounds on it already this year.
