This is amazing to hear, having made this video so long ago and it still being relevant (it's the same advice we give today), is great 🙌 appreciate you leaving such an encouraging comment, and glad to hear it's what you've been looking for!

Hi Alex, thanks for the useful content. Looks like Copper has changed Projects folder to a pipeline since this video was made. Would you now recommend using projects to manage a job process given this update?

Hey hey! So funny enough, we still recommend the exact same thing as in the video. Copper still has projects (don't use), but you can use opportunities (now Pipelines) to create processes, that's totally fine! (Maybe they've disabled the old projects now for new accounts), either way, new pipelines area, yes, definitely go ahead using it to manage a job process 👌
Appreciate the nice comment-Here to help if anything else comes up!

Hey, this was extremely useful. Thank you!
I'm wondering if I can use projects as entities being triggered for a specific stage in an opportunity pipeline - something that can be repeated (for each opportunity) as and when a new opportunity moves to a new stage.
Or would creating a new pipeline in opportunity for the same be a better model?

Glad to hear! Thanks for the kind words ☺️
And to your question, sounds to be something of a "sub-pipeline" of sorts?
I used to do that a lot, for a sub-process, but lately, I've been more and more careful about doing that as it separates the processed quite substantially and it's easy for things to fall through unless you're on top of multiple pipelines. e.g. can it just be more stages in the existing pipeline?
Using the Project section could work, though I'd ask, are you trying to trigger a sub-process? Or a list of tasks that need to be completed? Projects work great for a list of tasks, but aren't the best for visualizing going through a process, so there's a bit of a trade-off.
Super difficult to suggest what we would recommend without better understanding the background and way more context.

One thing that drives me crazy is that copper puts contacts from your phone or email directly into People rather than letting you put them into Leads. Then you automatically qualify them. Should be the other way around, add them to leads then you can auto-qualify them.

Yeah, we're with you here! They should totally be entered as Leads. We actually don't use (or recommend to almost anyone) the phone to Copper syncing feature, especially if you have a team.We find for most teams this creates more of a mess since you don't have control over which leads are synced and often it can lead to unnecessary contacts in your CRM. Copper actually didn't design this feature for teams, it's intended for individuals using the CRM that typically have less of a process.
For email, we'd also typically recommend disabling the feature that auto-creates a person when you cc someone (under Copper Settings → Email Settings → Copper Mailbox) so that you aren't getting people created in your CRM without you wanting them there.
In general, using the Copper Chrome Extension and intentionally adding leads is what we'd recommend (or depending on the volume of leads, having a form that is integrated with Copper so that when the form is filled out it creates a Lead and then you can take them through your process). The latter solution is what we most often implement for teams.
      Hope this helps!
