Doubled sided tape is perfect for keeping up posters! The only downside is their impossible to take off the walls after you put on the double sided tape💝
Goo gone will do this trick but it might mess up the poster if you’re not careful!
Id also suggest putting the sticky part of a post it note on the back to protect the print
try making a wee loops of blue painters tape and sticking it on that way, it never falls, doesn't damage the prints and doesn't damage the walls
I rec washi tape esp for smaller art prints--hasn't failed me so far!!! I fold a strip into a bubble to make it double-sided, and put enough to keep the art up on the wall. It's also been ok with my walls so far (no paint coming off when removing prints unlike other tapes, also doesn't rip the poster if I want to remove the tape)! also +1 to the painters tape and sticky note trick

To hang up posters, Daiso or Seria has poster tape that's specifically made so that you can peel off later on. If you're scared of them damaging the walls or the poster itself, use masking tape first, then the poster sticker on top. The stickers are sold with the name: 壁紙用ポスターテープ
ALSO!!! I think Daiso also has file folders for storing big posters! If I'm wrong, I've seen them in big art stores (maybe Sekaido? or Loft too)
I was gonna suggest somrthing like cammand tape. But that would probably work better.

To keep prints on your wall, use command strips instead of poster putty. I used to use poster putty but like you said, they aren't really secure when it comes to keeping prints on your wall and they can potentially damage the paint job on your wall as well. Ever since I made the switch to using command strips, I never have to be afraid for any of my prints to randomly fall or reattach a print to a different spot in my room praying that the paint job will stay intact as I detach and move it. 100% recommended!
For the pin board what I’d do is place them inclined, not hanging, on a sturdy table or shelf against the wall. Some people do it already for portraits, and since the board is too heavy the wall won’t suffer damage and will be visible to appreciate

during the summer i always keep a dehumidifier in my room to keep posters from getting wrinkled, water damaged from humidity, and keep the tape or whatever from losing its effect.. i also live in japan and so far this has worked

Super hack!! I stick plastic tape in the back of my prints in each corner before I hang them on the wall with poster puddy. This way they don't slide down the wall AND it keeps the poster puddy from bleeding through the print. This changed my life forever!! 🔥🤩🔥

i personally get my prints laminated and use poster command strips to hang them up. the lamination has potential to damage the print depending on the machine or ink (it's happened to 2 out of like 70 prints) and it does cost extra BUT i think it's super worth since i wont have to worry about water damage or ripping them when i rearrange them
I’m gonna take notes for my own new room. I LOVE the prints in the walls. I have a full drawer full of prints and posters I buy on cons but cannot put up. ❤❤❤

For the poster putty problem, I’d recommend glue dots or adhesive dots. They’re kinda gel like so don’t really get affected by the heat and are easily removable. 👌
I usually use blue painters tape to hold up any posters or prints. I fold them in a way where it’s double sided and stick them on the back so they aren’t visible. Painters tape protects the paint on the wall and it doesn’t damage posters/prints in the slightest.

Emily, Emily!!!! One thing i thought of for your pins is finding out how much it weighs and finding out how tough you wall is then ask google or someone who might know "if something that weighs about _______, will it fall on a _______ wall?" That's justan idea i thought of.

omg I have the same/similar journal as you! I don't do a ton of traveling, but the "traveler's journal" formats with inserts is my favorite way to journal. I like it so much more than normal notebooks!

Putting your posters in frames and hanging them on your wall could look nice! Not only will the frames add an extra touch of style and sophistication to your decor, but they will also provide additional support and protection for your posters, preventing them from falling off the wall due to wear and tear or accidental bumps. Plus, framing your posters will elevate their appearance and help them stand out as a focal point in your room.
for posters I usually tape a paperclip to the wall and place the poster on top and add tiny magnets where the paperclips were taped. this helps a lot that way the prints won't get damaged and don't fall
That table light is incredible for the aesthetic, I cannot explain it, but it's perfect even though it's not, say, strawberry themed

If you wanna combat having your posters in a bag/melting off of the wall, I recommended making an art binder! Just use an empty binder and fill it with a lot of clear plastic holders to put the prints in so that way it’s like your own personal art book!
For posters I recommend getting the Command damage free hanging poster strips, it’s safe for walls and supposedly safe for posters, BUT because i’m paranoid about ripping, I put sticky notes on the poster and then the strips just in case☺️

Instead of poster board sticky tack use painters tape, it makes ur posters stick to the walls well and doesn’t damage the wall/poster! It’s gentle and can hold up posters well
For sticking posters/prints on your walls you can use paint and air dry clay by mixing them together, it should make it sticky enough to put things on your wall

use clear tape/scotch tape on the poster and the wall where you want to put the poster, and then put the double sided tape on the clear/scotch tape, its sticks great and is easy to remove !

Food for thought. You can grab a cute basket to stash stuff you're not ready to put away or tidy up when you're too busy. It keeps clutter out of sight and adds a touch of charm to your space! (I do that)
Also I just say that because you mentioned the clutter in your desk. I on the other hand need it to keep my whole room looking cleaner…
you could try putting the posters on some white hard board with double sided tape and then use command strips to attach that to the wall? never tried it myself but my mate uses it for his art

I use Faber-Castell's Tack-It. It holds up well in hot weather and over many years too without needing adjustment. But I suggest putting tape over the area of your poster to protect it before using Tack-It. Not because it won't come off but because it'll leave a color mark if you leave it be for more than a year.

I use velcro command strips to hang a lot of my posters. No damage to the prints when I remove them from the walls and I can always reuse them. I usually cut up the velcro strips into smaller pieces to get the most use of them...

3M poster strips are really nice! They pull downwards so they won't leave residue on wall afterwards. If they're properly put on, the only thing bringing them down is going to be maybe earthquakes

As a teacher, even when the walls heat up, I put painters tape on the back of my posters and on the wall and then use hot glue to hang things. Almost never comes down. Even in the heat! Try it!

If it’s available/doable, you could try getting a nice-ish dehumidifier to combat the humidity taking down your posters! You could also try museum gel to hang up the posters, i believe it’s a bit stronger than Blue-tac. I also find thoroughly cleaning the wall helps with adhesion too!!

As someone thatlives in the UK with HIGH humidity, the best thing to combat the posters sliding and warping is just a dehumidifier
I use command strips! They're also easier to remove, I've found that putty can sometimes "liquify" almost and stain my walls after a while.

I've been going watching your room tours for years and love how decorated they have become. I did want to offer something from my experiences with researching pin displays. I have actually looked at people using Embrodiary Hoops with fabric or fabric canvases with felt attached for more aesthetic displays, which look super cute and can be as big or as small as desired
oh my gosh watching this reminded me of the new card captor sakura figure i saw displayed at the ccs 25th anniversary exhibition, its sakura in her going to school outfit (rollerskates and cheer baton bag and backpack) and it is literally so gorgeous PLEASE take a look at it if you have the chance !!!!

I used to also use poster putty for my prints but after having that same issue with poster putty losing its sticky, I eventually converted over to just framing everything and using a photo frame specific Command strip to hang them up with. so I avoid any little dots in the corners from the putty and once they're up they're up until I take them down. Dunno if that's something feasible for you but figured I'd chime in since I had that same print issue in the past!
This might be a lot of work but something cool you could do with the pins are to get a glass top table that has a layer under, so you can display the pins under the glass and work on top of them!

ultimate poster hack! Tape some metal paper clips to the wall (just blue painter's tape will do, and doesn't damage walls) and then attach the poster by putting a tiny magnet on the top! they make super tiny ones, so it's not gonna cover up the art much, and it holds up on bumpy walls and through humidity :)

Use washi tapes. It’s durable. If you want to change the different posters, tap your fingers on the washi tape over and over again to make it unstick a little. However, use the washi tape that you don’t use or like anymore.

What I do for my print obsession (I can’t help but buy from independent artists whenever I can afford it, there’s so much talent out there!!): I buy frames from the local dollar store (it took a while to find one that stocked frames but I found one that sells *tons* from 2-6 dollars each depending on size), and use sticky Velcro strips. 3m is the most famous but if you buy off brand ones you can get like 10x more for the same price and in chonky sizes that are much more stable for holding up framed works. And yeah I have a bunch of framed works up on my walls for super cheap! Makes my house look like a gallery. When art doesn’t exactly fit in a frame I’ll use my extra colored card stock and origami papers to cover up the negative space. And sometimes I paint or decorate the frames too to give things a personal touch.
Frames are a little more work but it’s a lot more weatherproof, and will protect the prints better in the long term.

Also I do the same as you for my pins and charms. I do have the board balanced on top of a book shelf but I snuck Velcro stickies behind the frame for stability (and the weight gets supported by the bookshelf). Ok cool! I’m done! Just got excited to see someone as deep into the “omg this art I want to bring it home” well as me 😂❤
You should get an easel for your pin board then you can see all your pins better. As for hanging prints well I own my house so I just put art in frames and smack a nail in the wall. I know it's hard to rent don't want to damage the walls but your room is lovely and inspiring also the lamp from Daidus is adorable.

Get double sided tape, it work for me, it doesn’t slide off when it gets hot but they are pretty sticky, sticky enough to damage the back side of the poster if you decide to wanna rip it off. I suggest you carefully peel it off.
You could maybe try using a thin easel to hold your pin board! Very sturdy and Japanese rental wall safe 😅🤝
