Been watching your channel and had my fingers crossed you wouldn't kill the snake. To me it is a mark of a true outdoorsman and shows another level of 'relation', respect, maturity and knowledge when one can enter a wild place and respect the code of the woods and doesn't harass or kill the things they don't like or fear. I hate when people go to a wild spot and then kill any snake they encounter and then act like they did someone a favor or are some kind of hero or adventurer. You have my respect and my subscription
Killer Benton blade man!! Super cool material! Looked perfect too! You all have the coolest assortment of materials and....snakes down that way! That old cottonmouth looked like it wouldn't take a whole lot to piss him off, watch out for those things! Take care bud and keep on finding them smokers!
Rocky Top Relics Appreciate it Rocky Top....Yep.,most people that get bit are not watching where there walking...if u walk by one close and u don't see him.,it's not gonna be a good outcome...they are quick to strike in mating season...which is now....you bet man.,I'm not scared of them.,I don't kill them..,but I highly respect them.....Thanks for ur comments and the best of luck to you sir
I AGREE with you bro!! On the ditches. The 2 best artifacts I have found in over 40 years of hunting , Were found in a ditch. The best being a G-10 Clovis!! And just last evening I found a smoker serrated Kirk Corner notch in a ditch wash out! Nice finds man!! And snakes!!!
I really enjoy your video's. We don't have a lot of fields and streams in Kansas that you can hunt. I wish we did though. I found my first point in the West Hill country of Texas while on a hunt. Good Luck
The things we subject ourselves to,for the sake of the stone.lol You can have those serpents and the ditchs they dwell in.lol Nice finds though, just glad I don't have such dangerous competition.:>)

@@Theditchwalker I never kill snakes either .If I encounter in the wild I just give them space and let them be.If They turn up near the house I scoop in a bucket with a lid and relocate them.I wouldn't wanna be killed for doing what humans do.So why would I kill them for doing what snakes do.

Good stuff... Blade no. 1 is a killer.... That snake probably wouldnt have opened it's mouth at you if it knew you just found a knife still sharp enough to cut its head off... Extremely nice finds... Good luck.
I live here off of 108 just south of Jasper. Where can I take my daughter? She wants to start arrowhead hunting. I'm from Oklahoma, found lots there. But don't know where to look here brother.. thanks for the video.
Where did you get educated on what period these came from? I have been finding points since a kid, but I have no idea on how old they are. I'd love to learn, but don't know where to go for information on what period certain points are from.
I dug in Riverside Missouri at the Renner Site. By marking the grid locations of all the artifacts we were able to see where they had their huts (circular shape) and the spacing of them. Also could see the couture of the ground at the time the artifacts were dropped. Another thing is when you do a proper dig you will find things that get easily over looked like bone needles, beads, worked shells and other items. The disturbance of farm equipment only goes down so far... we found stuff from the surface down as low as 2 feet down with the exception of the trash pits which went as far down as 6 feet.

At 1:30 you mentioned that there may have been a fire pit there. What are the signs? What should I look for here in Central Virginia?
Dark spot in the soil....remnants of burnt material and fire rock

How old are these artifacts? Stunning arrow heads.
Killer little blade
you ever though about doing an archological dig vs surface collecting?
I have but never followed up on it

What does the snake have to do with an arrowhead
Nothing...it's just footage and a precaution for people walking ditches looking for arrowheads.
sweet watch out for those snakes man
For the good! eye, Shannon!
Looks fun

Thanks I appreciate it Brittany...thanks for commenting
What does a "site" mean? Construction site, or indian village site?
archeological site

How long y'all been huntin?
I have been hunting since I was 10....I'm 44......I started creek hunting at 21 and haven't been a field much since
These other guys that hunt with me sometimes have been doing it 10 years or so.,but are not as diligent as I am lol
