Hi Chi. I relate to your disappointment. I felt similarly when I first got my bottle of Modest Deux. Maybe let it sit and come back to it. I layer mine over berry scented lotion and/or with chocolate fragrance oil. It helps a great deal. Tfs ❤❤❤
@chinami6534 Yes, Chi, it has gotten better with time (I've had mine for at least a year). The notes have blended together to give a La Nuit Tresor vibe w/o the syrup texture. The gardenia continues to be prominent, which I don't love, but it now lasts longer than it used to. I actually get compliments on it now.
Thanks for your review. This fragrance had such huge hype a year ago but I'm glad I didn't buy it as it is quite expensive to ship to Australia and I have much nicer fragrances that I prefer with similar DNA so you confirmed my fears that it wouldn't live up to the hype. :)
This is a very challenging scent for me. The patchouli is almost overbearing for 60% of the wear in a both minty and dirty way…the very deep dry down is extremely pleasant and by then it’s a skin scent. It has 100% gotten better after having for 2 months. When I first sprayed, I got a very sharp acetone like aroma. Now 2 months later, it’s extremely fruity sweet (probably the sweetest fragrance I own). The performance is ridiculous. I can smell it for 20hrs with 3 sprays on each arm (on skin)! It’s very pushy and boarders on nauseating. It is improving with time. I think it’s just not what I anticipated and has that patchouli I don’t care for. I’ll say, I do crave it on occasion but I can not tolerate it 2 days in a row. It’s an odd one for me. Bc of its extremely challenging, fickle nature, I will not be repurchasing it. Strangely, this drives my boyfriend crazy.
@@rinisix4243 Yes I am finnish. I have tried macerating, letting it sit on skin etc. It is just not what I expected. It is very musky and shampooeye on me. 😄
This smells like Dark Kiss from Bath and Body Works. The scent smells good but patchouli doesn’t mix well with my body chemistry. I smell heavy patchouli at the dry down.
@@sereneaura3291 I am wearing it right now and yeah it is giving body mist more than a fragrance. It doesn't pull super patchouli on me but skin chemistries vary and patch is a tricky note.
I also didn't get chocolate or gourmand. Only red berries and flowers. It will get strong. At least mine has after 2 months of maceration. 3 sprays and the whole house will smell 😅 According to packaging, mine was bottled in February of this year.
@@chinami6534 I'm glad you like it. 😊 This was a no for me because of the missing gourmand. I gifted it to my sister. 😊 (All of my perfumes are blind buys because they are middle eastern brands. So sometimes this happens 😅)

Has it gotten any better with maceration for you? 😄 I am putting all my hopes on maceration.

Let it sit for a bit… it’s a bummer but on me lasts for hours… but is very powdery on my skin…. Are you Finnish? Loved the review

@@sinuherohan4720 It is not a bad dna. It just wasn't what I expected. 🫤 It might be nice if it becomes a bit stronger and deeper.

@@sinuherohan4720 Nah, I don't like it either for the same reasons. :/
Oh no you gotta lett this perfume macerate for like a month or so once you let oxygen in
@@BLANKU2 Yup decided to do that. ☺️
Bought it and cannot stand it. Very disappointed.
