- I have been making and selling roller spring perches for 18 years. In that time I have made a lot of them. I made many sets using the method outlined on my website but over the years have adapted my process to be easier, faster, and to result in a better built perch. In this video I share with you all the tips, tricks, and hacks I have learned to streamline the build process

I have to comment on how generous you are with your posts and time. Thanks for the help you have given me so far. I'll be back. LOL.
Happy to do it I am a car guy FIRST and a business owner second so anything I can reasonably do to help the car community, I will do.
Thank you so much for the effort you made to share your experience and wisdom. I was actually shocked at just how frozen solid my original rubber bushing spring perches were when I replaced them on my '67 coupe a few years back. I didn't do rollers; nor the Shelby Drop at that time; but these videos; along with information shared by John @Opentrackerracing; offers novice Mustang owners a road map towards making the vintage suspension perform amazingly well; even by modern standards. Kudos and thank you!
Glad it was helpful! My webpage on building them has lots of good info as well
This gold! Thanks for making this. And yes, John is a good dude.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome… I learned a lot!!! Wealth of information….
Glad it was helpful!
I want to thank you for posting this...incredible! I was lucky enough to purchase a 65 Fastback back in 2014 - it is a good shell with boxes of parts. . It will need some serious attention, and with changes in our lives at home I am hoping to begin that process. I found your webpage - what a wealth of knowledge and insight. Roller perches are most definitely one of your recommendations that I'm going to do...I originally figured I'd buy them from you when the time came and am sorry you aren't going to be making or selling the diy kits - but with this tutorial I'm delighted I will be able to make them when I get that far. Thankyou again!...really great video and explanation.
Glad I could help!!
Hello there, 🤠, you are truly, a "salt of the earth" kinda car guy..... The skills you developed, and now are sharing, are inspiring, for true DYI guys . Thank for for kind spirit, and enthusiasm.. I just bought a pair, from John@OTracker.. I just saw your Duraspark cap video, and subscribed .. I likely would have bought frim you, had I found you earlier. Take and God bless my friend..
Glad you liked the video and I am glad you ordered from Opentracker. He is a fantastic Guy.
Your going to miss making these things once the nightmares subside. 🤣
I don't think the nightmares will ever subside
I bought a set of the DIY kits from you and made them going by your awesome instructions on your web page.
They turned out GREAT.
Thanks for the video.
Could you make a video about the jag IRS rear end setup you featured on your web page as I am preparing my IRS right now to go into my 67 coupe?
I have a couple videos on the Jag IRS and I am planning on doing a more in depth video on my conversion some time this winter.
Thanks.
You're welcome
I need a set of these for my 1964 Falcon, but I do not have a welder, or know how to weld properly.
I have one set (my last set) made and ready to sell. Email through my website.
I looked them up on your website, and it would be at least spring before I could afford them. Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat! LOL. Thanks so much for offering, love the channel.
The remaining pare of the older design perches I have are less expensive than the ones I am now offering on my website but still not cheep at $210 US shipped. I totally get it with Christmass coming up.@@Fordfalcon263
Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been wanting to order your kit for years but never got around to it. Can you recommend a source to purchase good bearings? By good I mean like SKF or Timken or something made in USA? If that even exists anymore?
Because of the minimal movement in the bearings and the number of bearings used a medium grade bearing will perform as well as a high end bearing. In fact there is no performance or longevity benefit in going with a high end bearing. Any 10 ball R14-2RS bearing will get the job done. The cheaper bearings have 8 bearings in side instead of 10.
I have a 65 CA car so no rust but it has been stripped….i am not worried about hp or dragging or tracking it….. I just want a modern ride quality that enjoyable to take on moderately longer road trips….. with so many options out there what’s your opinion regarding suspension modification to provide this goal without extreme suspension modification…. Just curious because there seems to be many options making it difficult to decide….appreciate any thoughts or suggestions….
For starters the stock suspension is a good foundation so with a few improvements you can make a stock suspension handle very well. I had this configuration for years:
1" sway bar
roller perches
adjustable strut rods
performance alignment
1" UCA drop
performance shocks
400# springs
The springs are the single biggest mistake people make . While stiffer springs will improve handling it will also make for a harsher ride. Everything on my list strikes that balance between handling and ride quality. If you want your Mustang to truly handle like a modern car you need an LCA coil over type setup like in this video ruclips.net/video/4rHDeqsOjTg/видео.html
