    I’ve had an Allied 150Ah with a Plum Quick (in a Precedent) for over a year. It’s been a great setup with great mileage. I really enjoy the videos.

      @stambo39 lots of variables go into that…type of terrain, how many passengers, driving habits etc. I would say 30-45 is a good range

    Nice build. I recently saw an interesting golf cart build. The guy added a gasoline generator so he could do long distance. Muffler was fairly quiet. Series hybrid EV. Like a FiskerEV

    Really well put together video and information. I just installed the ECO Battery 51V 105AH thru hole kit in my club car precedent and it fit like a glove. No cutting to get it to sit flat and the positive and negative is opposite so the cables are long enough. Not being critical of your install but thought I would share. I share your thoughts on lead acid batteries. Also I will look into selling the used batteries to the parts store!

    Thank you so much!!!! All the videos I watched on converting my club car never say anything about those two wires from the charge plug. Been stressing about what to do, now I know. I have a different design club car than you so my conversion to a different charging port for lithium was easier, accessing on board computer was a bit more involved. Thanks again for posting this video you helped me a lot.

    I like your video Thank you! Question is I did not see how did you by pass OBC some people and video shows cutting the wires and jump blue and white wire together. Can you explain if this is needed. I thank you kindly in advance

      The cart only cares about getting the 48v.
      Never had to splice anything.
      Hook up the battery, hook up the charger and you are good to go.👍🏻

      @@kartkrazy Thank you kindly sir! I will remove old charging port with wires to OBC. Then negative cable from OBC to battery negative and positive cable from solenoid to positive terminal on the battery and should work like you said. I will get battery "DCHOUSE" 51.2 volts 100AH approximately December 12th and will start conversion. In mean time I thank you a MILLION! All The best!

    Would have been nice if you had mentioned in the video adding a transformer for 12 volts before I blew my tail lights and head lights. I wrongly assumed that the cart would have that already.

      I’m sorry that happened. This cart did not have headlights or tail lights so it was not necessary. I do have videos in my playlist showing how to hook up a voltage reducer.

      It makes zero difference… The Golf Cart only cares about receiving 48 V… after that you can use whatever charger you want.

    Great video I am upgrading my 2012 Precedent to a 51V LIPO 100 AH battery. My question is why some other videos are showing that you need to jumper two wires on the six pin plug behind the OBC. Your approach of just pulling the black and the gray wire seems to be a much simpler approach.

      I have yet to figure out why people think they need to jump those two wires… I have been doing it this way for years and never had a problem.

      @@kartkrazy I see this comment so often. When it reality, it makes no difference at all. You're getting rid of 300 lbs of lead acid and replacing it with 90 lbs of lithium. You could hold the battery in your lap and the cart would ride just fine.

    Hi thanks for the videos. I've subscribed and watch you do lithium conversions to a few newer precedents. Mine is a 2006 with (4) 12V batteries and it looks a little different inside than this cart in the video. Is the installation process any different? Which Li setup would you recommend that fits? I'm a novice but looking to do it myself and save some money. Thank you!

    Hi! I am installing big batteries in my club car with an onboard controller. I love that set up for the charger, Where can I find that plug?

    Got a few questions 1. Does the key switch and the forward/reverse switch still work after this conversion or does it need to be converted to 12 volts 2. My Club Car has headlights, does this circuit need to be

      You can remove the lead acid and drop in a lithium and everything will work as it should.
      However…. if you have headlights or any accessories, you would need a 48v to 12 V voltage reducer.

    Batteries in our Club Car Onward are dead and I'm planning an upgrade to lithium however I've been having a hard time finding the Power Inlet Socket to replace the old charging plug. I don't want to get one that you have to drill holes in the body if there is one like you have that is a direct replacement. Where did you find yours?

      @@dannyadorno632 the conversion part is just getting rid of the lead acid to lithium… if you are looking to replace lead acid just search 48 V kits and it should come with the battery, the charger, the battery indicator and everything you need

    I have just got a similar club car Precedent like yours.. exact same setup…. Are you sure that disconnecting the black and grey wires, is all you need to do to bypass OBC??? … i see many other videos where they say that you need to splice blue and white small wires together and run the black to battery negative… i like your way a lot more… but i just want to be sure so I don’t screw up my controller or battery. Thanks

      @@kartkrazyyou were right…. Of course… worked perfectly….is there anything i can do about my regen braking( i think that is what I have)….when going down hill i can fell it trying to stop.. i think that is regen….does regen affect the lithium battery??? All stock by the way

      @commoncentsideas1215 the regen can be turned off at the Dealer… They are the only ones that can do it. Also, it has no effect on the lithium.

    Nice job, what does that kit cost? A little tip for the next time you want to drill a hole in existing spot where old battery light is just take a piece of scrap wood and you can use a spring clamp to hold it and this way you have a solid spot to start your pilot bit on your hole saw and it shouldn't move around on you.Merry Christmas.

      The cost of the battery set up is about 2500… The highest speed code that you can get is a speed code 4, and it has to be done at the dealer

    I’m doing Thai conversion now and I see you disconnected the blue cable on the battery. Is that the 12v for the lights and do I need a step down to connect that?

      The small blue wire next to the main red positive is the factory connection for the step down converter… It still has 48 V

    In you video, the black neg cable was too short, do you know what the new length was? Im trying to order the cable in advance as I plan on putting the battery in the same position as you had in the video. Is 2 Gauge the proper type?

      Easiest way is go to the dealer and have a speed code 4 installed. You can also do a Plum Quick motor.

    If I have a stereo in my lead battery now when I convert is there anything I would need to do differently or can my stereo and fan go directly to the battery? Figured I would need a reducer still. 48v Club Car

    I have a 2010 Club Car Precedent so my setup is different. I have 4 12 volt lead acid batteries and would like to do the conversion. Looks like my computer is in the middle like a console. 2 batteries on each side. Would I take out that computer completely to make room for the Allied?

      I too have the 2x2 precedent with the controller/computer in the middle. I have purchased the battery but needed to “remove” the controller to get the battery to fit. I have temporarily connected the battery to the neg and pos leads (4) and get power to the engine as planned (push pedal and go). But cart lights and horn do not work. in your video you talk about not needing the computer but in your response above it seems to indicate that you do need the controller. i’m not sure the difference? I’d love to remove the whole thing but not sure what to do about lights, horns and any other accessories

      1. The controller … which you must have for the cart to work.
      2. The OBC or onboard computer, which you no longer need after doing this conversion because that was for the original battery charger.
      3. the voltage reducer which you must have in order to run lights, horn, etc.

      first of all, thank you so much for a quick reply. Very helpful as I am in the cart working on it now. So of that huge metal thing which is the controller, and which is the computer. And from that wiring harness, which of those wires do I need and which of them do I not need. I.e. the stuff that goes to that metal panel which can I disconnect? Also, your videos are very good and inspirational. I think I’m gonna retrofit the entire cart. So thank you in advance.

    Question: I’m completely new to golf carts and golf cart mechanics in general. What do you think the odds of a first timer doing a lithium conversion successfully? I just inherited from my mother in law a mint 2000 Ezgo Txt golf cart and the first thing I want to do is a lithium conversion, but the shops charge an arm and a leg.

      This cart did not have headlights. Otherwise, a voltage reducer would be needed

    Great video! As for battery placement ur in the right spot. So what u need to make a new negative cable. And Yes cut the old stuff out to get the battery on the floor. Center of gravity is king!     I got a question maybe you can answer. I have a 2016 Cushman Hauler 800 but it has 7 8v batteries instead of 6 like I would expect. I've only seen 48v Cushman Haulers. Any idea what is going on? Can I replace it with a 48v lithium set up?

    What about the lights, horn, turn signals? I noticed your cart isn't equipped with them. You're still going to need the on board computer, correct?

      The on board computer has nothing to do with the lights… it requires a voltage reducer

      @kartkrazy most carts today and those you see in golf cart communities are already equipped to run headlights, horns, usb ports, sound bars, etc. They're not as basic as what you've shown. They need more.

    Ok so I bought the Vatrer 48V LiFePO4 and followed your same install method you did for your brand....I have a 2015 CC Precedent and previous had the speed code removed and going 25mph on lead acid....now with the new batteries I can only get 10mph...any suggestions?

      I have never heard of that. Maybe something with the battery? Can you put a multimeter to it and check voltage right at the battery? Should be 50-51 volts fully charged

      @@kartkrazy yes I am getting full voltage and see the amps spike as I take off but still no speed

      @@kartkrazy possibly not but I did flip it back and forth to see if that was the issue. Should I disconnect the battery put it in tow and then reattach? Or did I mess something up?

      @@wesleypenny3675 it would not help now…it is possible something got messed up in the switch over to the new battery without being in tow mode 😢

    Those lead acid battery’s could probably be repaired. You must respect the chemistry of the lead acid battery.

      Personally I can’t stand lead acid but I also know of people who can’t stand lithium 👍🏻😎

    It is easier to get a battery that fits into the battery compartment w/o all of these modifications.

      Maybe…but I prefer the 1 large battery over several small. Modifications are simple. Everyone has a preference 👍🏻😎

    Not providing the longer negative cable in the kit is a FAIL. It's supposed to be a plug and play!

      It is plug and play…I just prefer the battery on the passenger side

    Nice build. I recently saw an interesting golf cart build. The guy added a gasoline generator so he could do long distance. Muffler was fairly quiet. Series hybrid EV. Like a FiskerEV
