This song always reminds of my brother who passed away 2018 due to vehicular accident. His name is Matthew. We have a very special relationship as a sibling. He will always have a special place in my heart no matter what happens in my life and until the day I die 💔😢

Early 2000s and this was a part of the soundtrack of a relationship that I was in. Just a couple young Marines. After 2 years together in the US, she got stationed in Japan. We tried, but after about 6 months apart, she met a guy in Japan. This song hit pretty hard after that...but then it truly sank in, that it's not so bad. Time and music are great medicine. Last time I saw her, she had substance abuse issues. I tried to help, but she didn't want any help. That was years ago. I hope that she is doing well now. I have a feeling of bittersweet whenever I hear this. Beautiful song. One of the first songs that I learned to play when I bought a guitar in 2005. Nothing like hearing the actual songwriter play it.

Matt is one of my favorite people in the world. No one with a evil heart could have written a song like that. His kindness is implicit in the beauty of the lyrics.
