I was wondering, you're from the UK... But what part? I'm in Wales (born and live) and I feel our accents are kinda similar. I don't have a distinguishable Welsh accent considering I've lived here all of my life but hey-ho. LOL.

As for where in the UK I'm from I live in England, but I'm actually Welsh. My family is mostly Welsh and I was born in Wales. I moved to England when I was eight and I've lived here for nearly 13 years. In saying that, I don't know any Welsh any more (I only know how to say "good morning," "good afternoon," "be quiet," words for some emotional states like happy and sad, "well done/good job," and I can sing Happy Birthday, and that's it), I can't read Welsh, and I've lost my accent to an extent. It's weird as I don't think I sound Welsh or English, it sounds like an odd blend to me, I even got asked once where I was from, because apparently I didn't sound like I was from any area of the UK 😂 I think my accent could be described as more English sounding than Welsh, though.

Woah, how crazy is that! No wonder why I felt our accents are so similar. I'm from Mid-Wales, smack bang in the middle of North and South. The accent here isn't that strong like in North or South Wales. The further out of town you go the stronger the accents get! I can't even understand them half the time lol. Well, with the language itself, at least you know the basics of greeting a local Welsh person.. So you're good! LOL. I can write better in Welsh than speak but my vocab is limited. There's too many old variations of words that get confused with the newer ones taught at school. Hmm, that makes sense since you've lived away from Wales and surrounded by a different accent for 13 years - we should call the accent Wenglish! ;) Hehe.

@@DisneyAndSpiritLover Yeah, accents from the North can be very strong indeed, as that's where I'm from and my family have very strong accents. It's funny when I'd talk to relatives, because they'd always say that I sounded 'posh,' haha. I have cousins who can speak fluent Welsh, have limited English vocab but can speak and understand it, and can only write in Welsh, so when I used to get birthday cards from them, I could barely read it. And 'Wenglish' is a great name, haha; kind of sounds like a different language.
