My 1980 r100 was disassembled back in 1992. I bought and put it back together last year so It hadn’t moved for 28 years. It started second revolution with no engine or carb work.Even now it starts almost instantly every time. I was expecting it to be a pain starting every time but old bmw are just awesome at starting. Think it’s to do with the massive flywheel + big starter motor combo
