These are the BEST episodes I love these so much… nothing better than the division breakdowns keeping me company on summer road trips

Metro might make a push to top the Atlantic for top division. Every year it’s a toss up between Atlantic and Metro for top division in the league with the Atlantic generally topping the Metro. But I think this year the Metro tops the Atlantic

lol, the Avs have KHL All Star Kovalenko who'll finally have practice time to know JB's system & speak English better. CMac said the Avs will "rehabilitate the player & person." Val is playing in the regular season. Landy would put them over the cap, so I expect he'll be a later addition. On D, they have 20-somethings: Malinski, Brannstrom, & two time Natl Champ Sean Behrens in the AHL. Next season they'll add top C prospect Cal Ritchie & KHL G Mr. Everything Nabokov. Avs are sitting pretty.

As a RW fan, I think the team will regress this year. Be that as it may see, the number of points I think will be less than (91), around 84/85:ish. Then I think the team will find it more difficult to score more than 3 goals. I therefore believe that fewer goals in RW games than in previous years can be good or bad, only time will tell.
On paper, the team has been marginally improved regarding the defensive game, which has not yet had an impact on the team being unable to play a 20th game in the past. The addition of Talbot means that today there is a goaltender who has historically been able to stay above .910 SV% several times. However, there is a greater risk that Talbot will be burned out as RW has such a history with Ned, Husso and Lyon by letting the opponent take shots in abundance.
It is also realistic to believe that having Edvinsson for a whole season has a positive impact overall, if he does not get injured. The addition of Gustafsson is partly an improvement defensively, remains to be seen is the team's extreme inability to play stable defensive play over 200th ice.
The latter is on the staff's responsibility to ensure this beforehand so that they do not do as we saw last year and have it all season loooong. The best S.Y said during his summer press in my opinion, -the whole team has a responsibility not just the goalkeepers.
It is true that RW lacks a stud in the back end. In their pipeline, there are four interesting talents for the future. What not many think about is that they all (4th) have different characteristics and are drafted there by. In order not to have two with the same characteristics in their ranks, but to increase the "risk of luck" of hitting right on one of the four to become their future stud. Thats how you draft your future through the shotgun not the snipe method, by increasing the chance to hit 1 in 4.
They are missing some important puzzle pieces. Much of it is among the talent in their pipeline (maby), at best or S.Y will have to trade for those pieces. Until S.Y lets more youngsters get the chance to play in RW, RW will look like a Foreign Legion with overpaid average players and the occasional Vet selling empty seats like Kane & Vlad.
So in order for RW to make it to the playoffs, it is required that the entire team does a personal best in every siutvation, not just the top 6 or the oddballs who have ELC contracts next season.
Other teams in the league have gotten better and it is true that Montreal will probably overshadow several teams and their fan base next season. Otherwise, I think that OTT and Buffalo are both ahead of RW in their development and Buffalo will become a terrifying power house once they manage to get "it" together. Stil think RW will win a Cup again before both Ott and Buff and Montreal.
But S.Y has never chosen to consciously "tank" in his years as GM. Which meant that RW missed out on drafting among the top 3 several times and had to put up with the top 10 or 20 at best. Ott, Buff and Montreal, on the other hand, have chosen a different path than RW and thus on paper have better conditions for it.
S.Y is god in Hockey town and therefore cannot be criticized for his shortcomings as a GM. His reprehensible expensive contracts on average players or his choice to have an expensive press box. Not to mention his trades in the last two years.
That RW has difficulty fitting 23 players under today's cap is difficult to explain. When everyone knows that the team is missing 4 super stars. At best, the team has one through Larking and using the term "super star" is also strong against other teams' "superstars" to describe the importance Larks has for RW.
Being a RW fan is an emotional rollercoaster and as a Swede I have already been since S.Y started playing in the team back in the days. To Rw & other teams, I want to thank you for the fantastic highlights you offered during the season. A point that is missing and the back to back meeting with Montreal and the scenes played out wow.
