This guy does a better job analyzing hockey than ANYONE that works for network television. I haven’t missed an episode since I subscribed to his channel. Classiest content he put out was him and his friends watching the leafs lose in OT 😆 Thanks for all your hard work.
The most memorable moment for me was the end, seeing the Oilers battling so hard and being totally spent at the end of the game. By the time they pulled their goalie the top guys were all totally spent. And then the joy of watching the Panthers celebrate. It doesn't matter who wins, those first few moments of celebration are always magical.
They have really been high lighting the time management. Pulling the goalie and your top guys are spent, that sort of thing. Knoblock will get better at that. It was a season for the ages.
As a Leafs fan, nothing sickened me more than when Nylander scored to take a 1-0 lead with ten minutes to go in game 7 knowing exactly what was coming next.
Too bad we’ll all forget about it in 5 years because at the end of the day lifting lord Stanley is all that matters in the sport. I am a panthers fan and was at game 7 I will never forget that day!
Normally don't like a video before watching it, but seeing this 42 minute monster produced by one of the best hockey RUclipsrs there is, I know so much went into this. This is awesome, I look forward to watching
Face & Puppy reveal & thorough, balanced, light-hearted while also being insightful commentary - love this video. I got into hockey this year, & as a girl from Australia your breakdowns have been brilliant, and helpful. I have learnt so much & it makes me enjoy this utterly crazy sport so much more. Thank you!
gotta agree with tort. So many players just bend over head first into the board and just expect nothing to happen because you're not supposed to hit the numbers
Especially Jack Hughes. He got himself hurt multiple times this season by not knowing how to protect himself in the corner. Flyers hurt him, Avs hurt him. Ross colton destroyed him behind the net when they played Colorado and got a major for a clean hit bc kiddo doesn’t know how to play high level hockey. Those are only the 2 I know, there were probably more Remember kids this isn’t juniors anymore. These guys are fast and hit hard. Head up. Protect yourself in the corners.
Great season review overall great season. As a Canuck fan i'm excited to see what's next for this core of players. One thing you could have mentioned was just how godly Edmonton's special teams were in the Playoffs. Their PK was out of this world and a huge reason they went to the finals.
Loved the recap had fun this season. My favorite part of last season was when everyone on the ice got ejected. I didn’t see there in person, but I saw on TV because I’m a senators fan.
@YourLocalPanthersFan21 hey bro, weve EARNED every bit of the hate and jealousy from other fans this year. just wear it like a brand new suit and strut. :)
I love your vids man, your commentary always feels whimsical and yet factual or analytical at the same time. The one thing I have to say is @8:56, the example following the CLEAN segway - the hit on Luke Hughes, isn't a check from behind, but it IS boarding (See: One of the rules the NHL has deemed situational at best because 'the game is so fast')
The mini playoff series between the Wings, Pens, Caps, Isles, and Flyers was the greatest two week stretch of hockey I’ve watched in a long time. Those last 2 games against MTL as a Wings fan were absolutely ELECTRIC
As a red wings fan living in Philly who was at that final game against Washington while watching the Detroit game vs. Montreal on my phone....I was gutted lol
your videos are the best. loved the season summary. as a Penguins fan, I suffered through the power play drought, the Guentzel trade, and the “close but not cigar” final games of the season. thanks for not including the Letang-Malkin own goal!
great video, wish you'd mentioned though that when bedard scored his lacrosse goal trevor zegras had one the same night, first time in nhl history it happened twice and it was crazy
Awesome recap. I really had fun this season, despite my team missing the playoffs. I was happy to see Florida win their first cup. Can't wait to see what the 2024-25 season has in store.
Great job w/ the 2023 recap! My only complaint is that you didn't mention the Red Wings 3-goal comeback OT win vs Montréal in Game 81 (or vs Toronto in Game 80) to stay alive... that last week & the playoffs was a reminder to all that hockey is the greatest sport on the planet! Here's to an amazing 2024-25 season, and LGRW 🐙
Just mirroring what other people have said. No fanfares, no shouting into the mic. Just an informative video, edited well and easy on the ear. Great channel.
I love this video. Hope there's one every year. You said Matthews had the fastest 50 goals in a season but that was only among US born players. And fastest since Lemieux in 95-96 No mention of the Tarasenko trade?
I cannot find enough words of praise for Artur Silovs. I'd never heard of him before this post season, and was glumly certain that the Nux were doomed when both Demkp and DeSmith went down... and this kid then proceeded to play like the secret lovechild of Patrick Roy and Dominik Hassek. He outright stole the Dallas series and dragged the rest of the Canucks organization into a game seven vrs the Oil that, sadly, nobody else on the team had any interest in playing in. Okay, yes, there were injury issues and the like, but holy _shit_ Silovs put in work. I hope to see more great play out of him in the years to come.
I have to say the Rangers did surprisingly well this season. And that’s coming from a die-hard Devils fan. I just hope they can keep it up next season. Shasturkin was amazing and I’d love to see more from him.
The Finals for me was a really sore and unsatisfying feeling. Growing up a MTL fan, I eventually became a HUGE Gretzky fan around 1990. Even though I'll always be a HABS fan as it's in my family heritage., Gretz's career really fascinated me once I really started to look into what he accomplished in his life, and also what the OILERS accomplished from their birth into the NHL. That being said, I've always had a spot in my heart for the Oilers as my second fav Canadian team. I really truly believed that McDavid and the Oilers would not be denied last year when they reached the SCF. After BOB virtually stole game one, I was worried this would turn into the story of the series. We've all seen that one series when a goalie gets SO HOT that no matter what the team does to lose, the minder puts them on their shoulders and wins the four games needed. I feared that's where this was where it was headed. I knew BOB had it in him to do it. But the FLO won the next two without Bob having to stand on his head. EDM just didn't play the same game as the first. When they finally got it back together in game 4, 5, and 6, I would've bet a whole lot that history was in the making. I thought that McDavid would not be denied. And if it wasn't for that DAMNED GAME ONE, they would've walked away with the prize. Oh well, that's all hyperbole and conjecture now. I am hoping McDavid will get that cup he deserves. And soon. He is something special. The best in the world without any foolish arguments from anyone. But beyond that, I am mostly looking forward to my MTL Canadiens future! The pipeline is packed with very high ceiling talent right now and it's the MOST EXCITING TIME to be a HABS fan in a VERY VERY long time! I'm really enjoying being a hockey fan again these days!
No mention of the Kings going pretty much undefeated during the first half of the season with an $8.5M boat anchor and running out of gas in January...
Great way to have summer lagged hockey viewers back in the groove with your presentation style in this Amazon series episode caliber recap lol. I love my youtube hockey subscriptions, and Hockey Psychology is one I look forward to among them. Happy to be back onboard for the next season. On a side note, I really wish Jack Hughes' short sighted comment about people paying to see him was never said, but heat of the moment we can all say dumb shit and he has to live with that now. Hopefully it will get drowned out by performance.
First vid I watch on this channel, very good!! As a Habs fan I loved the David Savard comparison. Would love to see another one at the end of this season.

I think that Rempe opening scoring for the playoffs, and finishing with more post season goals than Ovi really sums up this season well
being in the building for jarry's goalie goal was one of the coolest moments i've ever experienced as a hockey fan

Yeah. I always like to watch the celebrations (unless the Wings are in the cup final and lose- then I can’t bear it).
Asa panthers fan thus season nearly killed me. So nervous for g7. Just elated we finally won the cup.
The 2024 season got me paying attention to hockey again after a long period of apathy, this is a fantastic recap of what made it so special!
As a Leafs fan, nothing sickened me more than when Nylander scored to take a 1-0 lead with ten minutes to go in game 7 knowing exactly what was coming next.
