The Shadow Projection ability of the Makhluk Wayang is great for distractions and "spooky" shenanigans. Given that it's a tiny creature that makes it a lot easier to hide places, and from that hiding place it can extend its shadow to manipulate something 10 feet away. Great for getting that guard to move away from a door or similar activity.

@@toodleselnoodos6738 lol agreed about chef and tapir. lol yeaaah... Accompanist is kind of a no-brainer.
Lantern Wisp Familiar + Resentment Witch = permanently Blind 1 creature / combat (per 10 mins).

The Tapir Sage doesn't have the Manual Dexterity familiar ability, which is a prerequisite for Toolbearer. I'd treat it has having this ability.
This makes perfect sense
I can see the Tapir Sage working wonderfully for a supportive Thaumaturge. I kinda love the idea of doing that now.

@WisdomCheck related realization: you could make a Mary Poppins coded character and have their Tapir Sage be how they offer tea to those in need.

I mean Kindling works WITH final Sacrifrice. Or at least I would rule it that way. Paizo just gives us more optimization for the familiar suicide bomber playstyle.
I wish kindling worked with impulses. A part of me is worried that Kineticist will receive the red headed stepchild treatment from Paizo in lieu of Wotc and the artificer; little to no support or recognition in lore after release.
Ues I wholeheartedly agree. Kineticist needs more expansion on their powers.
I am treating all kinetist impulses as primal cantrips for the purposes of interacting with other abilities/feats/enemies

I really like the familiar abilities that we got and the specific familars but i recently found out we got sarangay in this book AS AN ANCESTRY which literally made my day i was so sure theyd make them a minotaur heritage, its great to see more himbo bull men and filipino rep

lol I want to do a Sarangay video. I wanted a more spiritual Minotaur than the Minotaur that we got in howl of the Wild and the Sarangay feels like it.
Why would Sarangay be a Minotaur heritage? 1) It was confirmed fairly early on that they'd be their own ancestry, and 2) they aren't "literal" cowfolk, they're water-buffalofolk.
@@HenshinFanatic I wasn't looking into tian Xia untill now, and I know but I figured if they would ever add it they would think it's close enough, I'm mostly just saying I'm super happy that they got added especially in a way that does them justice

Paizo messed up. Kindling doesn’t work with Final Sacrifice. If you sac your familiar for Kindling when casting Final Sacrifice, your Final Sacrifice no longer has a familiar to blow up. It should be after the casting, your familiar is consumed.
And like you said for the “affects every creature”. Unless they intend everyone to send their specific familiar in, use the ability, and then you Final Sac it.
Hmmm maybe I wasn't clear, I'm sorry. I meant that "Kindling" seems pointless when you can take the spell "Final Sacrifice" instead. Because Final Sacrifice does a lot of damage.

But ya, that’s how I feel too.
Especially since a Final Sacrifice spell slot deals the same damage as a Fireball above it.
Maybe it’s meant for Floating Flame or something niche?
It’s just that Paizo joked a lot on how the Shikigami has an ability for those “folks who like to blow up their familiar” for more damage…when it actually doesn’t work RAW.

Shadow projection can deliver a potion at reach with a. Single action... You can safely give your fighter a potion and be 10 feet away. The tea familar seems cool but what does it look like??

If you mean with Item Delivery? Doesn’t work.
You have to Command your familiar to use Item Delivery, which consumes the whole turn. Meaning, you can’t use Shadow Projection and Command-Item Delivery at the same time.
But a Familiar with Independent that’s just holding a potion just in case? Ya, not a bad call. Still kind of clunky.
But I imagine the Tapir Sage as a tapir dressed like Sen Rikyu.
I didn't mean with "Item Delivery". I meant with commanding a familiar who has manual dexterity. I should have been more clear. Familiars can Manipulate or Interact as an action and you can either use an action to command them to do that or they can use their own action with Independent to take an item or hand off an item.
If you are trying to hand them a potion your familiar isn’t already carrying, it would take the familiar two actions to take the potion and hand it off. It doesn’t have a third action to use its shadow ability on the same turn.

Depends on interpreation but Final Sacrifice does have the Fire Trait. So you might be able to stack the additional damage.
They both require sacrificing the familiar. Kindling states that you sacrifice the familiar as a free action in response to Casting a damaging fire spell if you are casting final sacrifice you have to sacrifice the familiar as part of the casting of the spell. So you can't sacrifice the familiar and make the final sacrifice and then sacrifice the familiar to make the final sacrifice bigger.
