Brilliant job, when I worked for Ford and Slater in the 70s things where much simpler, we had the Leyland ergomatic cab, so taking them off was very simple as all the electrics stayed on the column, we used to use a guy called Dave Ambridge from Ollerton who came along with gas bottles porta powers and big hammers to straighten chassis. Later we had the Bee line system. Happy days retired struggler.
You say, "it's not a big deal" or "it's pretty simple", but to me, you've practically rebuilt this one, stripping it right down to the chassis. What the top job. Great work. Also, to me, the XF is my all time favourite cab, because it came out in the 80's (as the 95), which is when I first started driving lorries.
Amazing work Sebastian. I love your job. New subscriber here in Tamworth, England and start to watch all your videos from the very start. Good luck and God bless🙏
hi. i am amazed at what you do. used to work on AEC trucks some with ergomatic cab, it was a lot easier then, not so much electrics etc and the seat pan stayed in situ.why does it have to be so complicated now ?
It would be interesting to know how they shrink the metal that has been stretched ? with out using heat, Truck Align at Charlton used the same ider to straighten chassis way back in the 80s
One question out of curiosity, re: crane; you seem to be bringing back your crane truck each time you want to lift or lower heavy loads, however you have quite a sizeable building, so why not install a fixed crane on rails within the building itself and do without the truck?
As ever a great video. Next time you get another chassis repair would if be possible for the chassis bloke to do a video on exactly how they "twist" it back into place from start to finish?
Another top job! Im a mechanic for the company with the (Maroon and dark silver) trucks, which I think you currently have a few of and would love to see a repair video on one of them if at all possible.
Love watching your work Sebastian but how on earth do you remember where everything goes, do you write down each part you remove, also do you have a parts catalog for every vehicle ?
You do some great work Sebastian, it never ceases to amaze me how many new vehicles get crashed within their first year of use!
