- "THE MOLE is an unpredictable, high-stakes competition series hosted by journalist Ari Shapiro. In this version, twelve players work together in challenges to add money to a pot that only one of them will win at the end. Among the players is one person who has secretly been designated "the Mole" and tasked with sabotaging the group's money-making efforts. In the end, one player will outlast their competition and expose the Mole to win the prize pot."

I had the opportunity to speak with the lovely top 5 contestants of this season to chat about when they were being their true self, their experience on the show, and more!

Michael didn’t add money to the pot at all! He doesn’t deserve taking all that money home, whereas Muna added so much money to the pot & guessed the Mole correctly

Hannah and Muna's strategic decisions and playing style was so fun to watch. Genuinely want to study hannah's brain (I'm a neuroscientist) I love seeing her strategize
You won’t find much in her brain.
Muna looks pissed, and I understand why. She was the strongest player and the most entertaining to watch. I would have loved to watch her win.

I agree, Michael got an advantage when Sean sabotaged on purpose in front of him. Why didn’t he do that for Muna? So unfair.

Befriending the mole has ALWAYS been part of the strategy of The Mole from the very beginning. It's not unfair, it's a part of the game when you have a group of human people with human emotions.

Michael didn’t befriend Sean. Sean befriended Michael, that makes it unfair. He literally served breakfast to Michael. Maybe some people might have missed it, but he was feeding Michael an unfair amount of infos by going to him and spending time with him

Very underwhelming. Sean didn’t really do enough sabotage.. Hannah was a better mole and my girl Muna deserved to win 😢

I really tought she was the mole because during the basket interview she didnt take the exemption which is a fool decision ever. Being so honest is not going to let yiu win this game.. she can change the story from the begining btw. but why???

She was robbed. Sean spoon fed Michael the Information. The Mole would literally serve breakfast to the winner, Michael. He intentionally gave him the answers. The game was unfair. It was rigged against Muna.

@@bananajoe7365 i wouldnt say fooled, its just i wanted a better outcome. like ofc sean was the mole but i dont think we wanted him to be. it kind of feels like a slap in the face lols. and then michael won which is even worse.
i hated the way michael played. sean did a good job though but overall would have preferred if michael was the mole at this point since he sabotaged every mission just to draw suspicion to himself and make others vote for him.

I totally disagree. Michael spent so much time with Sean because he was suspicious of him from the very beginning. He had focused on Sean and that made it easier for him to collect information. Muna, on the other hand, was also suspicious of other players like Michael (who did an excellent job in making others think he's the mole) and Neesh. Had she narrowed down her options earlier in the game, she'd probably have the necessary info to win the game.
Michael outplayed Muna, that's the truth. He discovered who the Mole was earlier and tricked everyone into suspecting him until the end. Although I was rooting for Muna, he was a better player.

We're not even talking abt how Sean openly sabotage twice when ONLY Michael was watching. We're not even mentioning how happy Sean gets when Micheal does something good. The hi5... Muna didn't get a fair final. Questions like what school did the mole go to... only Micheal could know because that was his buddy

@@Jake-bw3xs yes it does if you are the mole because the questions are about the mole personal life. Ex: what pet the mole owns, what city the mole grew up in, what school the mole attended. I can see Sean feeding these answers to Michael to help him win. I will never forget twice Sean OPENLY sabotage in front of Michael and Michael only. WHY? NOT FAIR
@@sem2006fr 1. Sean has no reason to feed Micheal these answers. If Micheal asks where Sean attended school, Muna is suddenly exempt?
2. Openly sabotaging is a thing many people do, so when Sean does it, it’s because he likes Micheal? Not because that’s like…his job.
3. Deanna and Muna both also saw Sean switch the photo. I don’t get how having a relationship is unfair.

This season I didn’t enjoy as much as the first. I felt Muna genuinely had a lot of strong plays, I mean, my family and I kept close attention to her activities as they suspected it was her and she actually got certain things right, if only others listened and if only *Muna* listened to herself. In the cave challenge, she actually knew which puzzle it was (the count how many boxes one) yet everyone disregarded her and believed Sean (who was the mole). There were a handful of other moments however I forgot them so I can’t list them as of now, but if anyone else remembers what Muna did where she and the others should’ve listened to her, pls tell.

The conversation between micheal and sean was nor clearly visible when he knew sean is an undercover.. and sean knew that micheal already know he is the mole.. i suspect that they are working together on winning this.. like if you all agree with me.

I thought the mole was either sean or muna 😅 muna was way too smart for these people, and Sean's act was way too weird, just him acting way too obvious about being the mole was weird and smart as well but it was very suspicious to me.
I laughed when i realized that the top three players where the actually the top three most suspicious players 😂😂😂 the game where they had to put money in the truck of the players that were voted for as most likely to be the mole.
as much as i wanted muna to win, michael 101% deserved the win despite everything the righteous viewers have to say 😭 he played the game amazingly, fooled everyone and still won which is what makes him the best player
Agreed! It amazes me that people are still saying that Muna was robbed because she helped add more money to the pot, I mean "Hello! That's not how the game works". Michael knew more about Sean and was suspicious about him early, hence why he deserved to win.

The only contestant who deserves to win is the person who guessed who the Mole was AND knew more about the Mole. Michael did just that and hence he deserved to win.
@@joshwillis2879 yes because he was friends with the Mole. He hardly won challenges and even couldn't get the last money from the last challenge. Muna led so many challenges and won the group money at different instances. She deserved to win!

Sean was the worst Mole ever IMA..very underwhelming finale episode
Not gonna lie I thought he was a really good mole. Yeah, he didn't do much sabotage because others did it for him, but he was the least expected to be the mole. He was an undercover cop and so he was able to hide real emotions or how he was truly feeling so no one could really see through him
This made it really hard to see if he was lying or telling the truth
In the last episode too, the contestants didn't even suspect him, showing how good of a mole he was to be able to seem like a player rather than the mole
He also cried in the last episode just talking about his family making it harder for people to see through his lies
@@Hannah-S1222 in all honestly I never suspected Sean was the mole at all, only when Michael was suspicious did I start to suspect Sean. I knew Sean was The Mole after Hannah was eliminated as she suspected Michael and Muna, I knew Muna was clear and since Sean suspected Michael, I knew that he (Sean) had to be The Mole.

He was never suspected till the very end leaving players confused and even the audience suspecting other players such as Michael or people like Muna
It was really hard to tell for me personally even after Hannah's elimination that Sean was the mole because of how he started tearing up and looked like he was there for the money
The way he acted was a perfectly good disguise for a mole and I thought it was great!

@@Hannah-S1222 I agree! That speech he made got to me doubt him but I'm happy I picked him in the end. I really enjoyed this season as it's the first time ever I correctly guessed The Mole (last year I really though Jacob was the Mole and once he got eliminated I guessed it was Joi as a random pick).
I was hooked onto this season and binged watched it this week and really hope it gets renewed (I also hope my home country, Australia restarts The Mole as I enjoyed watching those versions)

What a terrible iteration of this franchise.
Way to scam those contestants with the illusion of a cash prize while humiliating them and gaslighting them. Only for them to realize, you'll be allowing the "mole" to spend all of the prize money at different intervals during the game.
After the auction, I was shocked they all didn't realize the scam and walk off the show and start calling lawyers to get them home and start filing charges against Netflix and the appropriate associations filming and producing this show.

What are they supposed to do? You brought them to another country, they're pretty much hostages to this game show and it's production if they want to get home safely and without further abuse from production. What was done to these contestants to create this season was appalling and from what I'm seeing is also illegal, regardless of the contracts they signed to be in the show. No one signed up for this.

You do know the mole never spent the money. Sean was never going to be the last to leave in episode 2, and he probably bid a relatively low amount in episode 5. He did psych people into wanting the exemption both times.
