A deep look into the the throwing action of the 5 times world champion and darts legend Eric Bristow also known as "The crafty cockney."
Eric wan the BDO Embassy darts world champion ship in 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985 & 1986.
He was the first player to win back to back world titles and the first to win a darts world championship in two different venues in Lakeside and Jolly's.
My channel is exclusive to darts only content. I coach darts full time working with amateur & professional players.
All my video's are based on how to play darts as well as advise on equipment and general darts setup with the aim to guide any new players in their darting journey as well as provide more experienced or even professional dart players with dart content to help improve.
I throw around an 80 average myself with my left hand due to in injury and dartitis in my right arm.
I may on occasion use footage from the Professional darts corporation (the P.D.C) as well as The British Darts organisation (The B.D.O). These are used under fair use legislation and all credit should be given the rightful creators.

Eric's grip and throw were so elegant. Everything about him: those gleaming 'gimlet' eyes, the Roman nose, his Cockney chirp and utter dismissal of opposition and criticism, made him one of the most charismatic and controversial sportsmen of all time. I adored Brissy. God bless him.
Eric was a top notch player who put the winning mindset on the darting map.
RIP Eric.
I loved Eric. Showed how great he really was to get into the 1989, 1990 and 1991 Finals when the Dartitis really badly affected his darting abilities. RIP Eric 'Crafty Cockney' Bristow.
He is in the top 3 for what he did for the game there wouldn't be a pdc circuit without him and he was a household name in the 80s which put darts on the map he's a legend of the game and I miss him on sky
I modelled my throw on Eric's as a teenager, as I thought it looked the most solid and didn't 'drop down' like John Lowe, but it took me a couple of sets to get close to it. Eric did more for the profile of darts than any other player and that should never be forgotten.
He stood to the right of the oche as his mum put a dresser in the way on the left 😂 That’s what he said at an exhibition in Diss, Suffolk in 1980 just after he became world champion 👍
This is a fact though. I had some friends who had the "low ceiling" at their home board, all of them threw frozen rope darts because of it.

Another brilliant video on throw analysis. Can we see more female darters please? I've noticed some of them have a very different throw. Maybe Beau Greaves as she recently won a major ladies tournament or Lisa Ashton? To be honest there's lots of good female players to pick from 😅. Keep up the good work Daniel 👍🏼🎯
Just don't show Winstanley's throw for gods sake 🤣🤣
Great work on these agree
@@Koumpa123 I think he is on the strange throw video
@@MrBigbangbuzz I think @Spi dey meant Lorraine
My personal favorite - thanks for sharing.
Eric Bristol and John Lowe; two of my memories from my teens
Great job as always. Love your videos.
He was a legend and legends never die. I modelled my darts style on his and that is something his style and grace in the sport left me. R.I.P legend 💪
Ah ,"The Crafty Cockney". As you know in all sports, every now & again someone comes along that is Extra Special. With their natural ability & training they surpass everyone else by a considerable margin. Mr.Bristow fits that category. He elevated the "pub" game in to a sport. His apprentice Phil Taylor then took darts to a different level. Then when everyone else figured out those little things, Phil Taylor's "Fear Factor" was gone. The other players averages started creeping up & up , now look where we are ......with a multitude of fantastic darts player's. Yes Eric Bristow should be recognised as the man who changed darts, for the better, a darts legend. Good vid, cheers , 👍🎯🎯🎯👍
The thing about Phil is he didn't just do it in spurts, he did it for three decades at a nearly unsurpassable level.
R.I.P. LEGEND WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE AND REMEMBER YOU ❤
We owe a tremendous debt to Eric for all he did in taking darts out of the public bar and making it the international sport it is today.
Hi again, as a "dart freak" , I'm really enjoying your channel & your throw analysis is very good. Yep , great wee channel mate 👍👍🎯🎯😁
Excellent video again Daniel 👌
it will never be the same without him rip
Cheers for this brilliant video mate.
You should do one on Jocky Wilson.
Incredible throw, the only other player I've seen to pull that throw off was London youth player Paul Baker back in early 80s at Leicester British youth k/o.
Throw that pinky in the air like you just don't care!
lovely throw
What about Terry Down lol!? That would be very interesting!
brilliant! Would love to see a keane barry throw analysis if its up your alley
I'll definitely put it on this list, thanks! :)
Wow that grip is made .. can you do jockey next ?
When bristow kissed Phil on the lips after throwing a 180. 🤣 legend
I wonder if the holding the chalk was to also make him think he still had a dart in his hand to help with the dartitis?
Could have been :)
Or replacement for cig
Canadian players often do this still. Always found it strange myself. Thought it was only for chalking scores, and for some it was, but for others i guess it functioned as in poolhalls
Great vid. Any chance of an analysis on Jonny Clayton? Pretty unique pump fake like action prior to his throw.
I'll definitely put it on this list and start saving some good shots of his throw, thanks! :)
a cool throw analysis would also be from keane barry🤭
I’d be keen to see the weirdest grips ..
Hey myself, how much for an hour coaching and talking session?
Hi, the link to my website is below with my current prices. At the moment it's £25 for a web session or £30 for a throw analysis. :) straighttothepointdarts.co.uk/darts-coaching/
he was to darts as Steve Davis was to snooker
A serial winner like Davis for sure, but as far as charisma and character I considered him in the same vein as Sir Ian Botham
