Ouf! Good tips but you and I have different ideas about packing light! 😂 Your "light" list for a week, especially in a hot climate, is my "yikes, I overpacked again!" 😮😅
Another reason to avoid polyester is that it can take 200 years to decompose in landfill, it releases microplastics and contributes significantly to carbon emissions when it’s being manufactured.
I live in Sicily. Tourists are easily identified by silly little backpacks; transparent/lacey tops/trousers/dresses; showing their belly. Do wear bermudas or long trousers, preferably in linen. Crisp shirts with sleeves rolled up always look stylish and fresh; but T-shirts are easier to pack. The backpacks are puzzling: why not a hand/shoulder/crossbody bag? And you can always pick up a nice woven straw bag at a market
I agree; backpacks are awkward to reach in and out of-except for pickpockets. I carry a cross-body bag in a cut- or rip-proof fabric. And although I wear comfortable but stylish outfits, I always wear a money belt/mini bag around my waist. It contains my passport, travel insurance documents, a copy of my prescription, money, hotel key, etc. It has a cable running through the strap and a fake buckle, and is also in cut-resistant material. This also reduces the weight of the cross-body bag. Chic be damned! I will never see any of these people again, so who cares if I wear the same outfit several times? I rinse things out the evening before, and I’m good to go the next morning.
Hello, American just returned from 2 weeks in Portugal and Amsterdam. Carried very small cross body with essentials, and a very light weight day pack. Why both? When traveling, you need more items and room for shopping. Phone chargers, rain gear, water, outerwear, snacks etc. we are seasoned travelers and need to be prepared for different scenarios. I am a tourist, who cares if I look like one.
I like these tips. I just returned from a 3-week European vacation which included 11 nights on a cruise ship. I definitely over packed! What an added burden when you have to lug so much around from place to place! I would do things differently the next time. I had too much of everything!
Remember, when on holidays, no one will know you and no one will be looking at you, so feel comfortable and happy in your choice of clothes. Cheers and happy holidays.
But also remember holiday snaps and who you’re sharing with too. Plus FB appearances 😀 but I think the important thing is to feel good in your clothes home or away.
lol we have very different ideas about packing light. 4 tops, 2 shorts, 2 light bottoms, light jacket and maybe a nicer outfit for evening. Bathing suits take up no room so don't count ;-D
Please forgive me, but I think mustard is a hard color for anyone to wear ~ you look amazing in navy! Black leather? Im older and just cant pull it off!
Yes, I had lots of spare room in a medium sized suitcase and wore everything, many twice. As we were out every night it was 12 outfits needed. Yes I did wear things twice too. We didn’t have a washing machine and it was hit and sweaty weather.
Some useful tips in your Video. I live in spain, we can always pick out the holiday makers, shorts in winter, flip flops, backpacks as well. The Eborian BB cream in nude is worth trying, it hides blemishes and has a sp factor.
I’ve been using the 5 4 3 2 1 method of holiday packing for a while now. It works a treat for me, especially as we normally stay in rentals with a washing machine. ❤xx
My husband recently had his 50th class reunion. We were out on the veranda of the country club that sits on the river. It was warm that day but I knew it was supposed to get cooler that night, especially the breeze of the river. I was the only one that wore a jacket over my dress. I wore a denim jacket and put a scarf around the neck. I got several compliments on my outfit. I felt a little smug that I wore a jacket and was comfy and everyone else was cold. 😉
Long legs or longer body…your body proportions need to be known .for advice on tuck or not If you are shorter legs to body tucked in or just tummy length top works better imo
I have long legs and a short torso (especially since I have lost two inches in height due to osteoporosis). I never tuck in - it looks ridiculous on me!
I absolutely love your video! And subscribed! I agree with you on so many things! First of all I just started my channel for the same reason! To be heard! I'm in my late 50th, and it's important for me. Also I'm done with tacking my shirt as well! 😂 It doesn't give my body any bonus 😅.
Since I let my gray hair come in, none of my favorite colors look right on me. I love neutrals. I miss them. Most of my clothes look awful on me. Still trying but I'm ready to quit with the clothes. I have rosacea so that makes it even harder. I also haven't wore makeup , except for my children's weddings.
I always pack a lightweight white or cream coloured cardigan, it's perfect for day or evening. I take 2 bathing suit bottoms and 2 bathing suit tops that can mixed and matched, 4 different looks. I also have a sarong that matches for a cover-up,
I think if go away 14days keep separate for evening s so at least seven tops for the day three swim wear two loose trousers two skirts or three of each night time at least six tops rolled three trousers three dresses or skirts
It was 1 trousers that was suggested and they weren’t used. 3 shorts were used. It was 3 skirts I took but said 4 in error in the video and I wore 3. 3 dresses were worn. 14 outfits were needed to include eating out in the evening. I would suggest next time to be more specific when asking ChatGPT to include the planned activities and lifestyle. Yes I think I wore of the items so as I could share images but ChatGPT didn’t know that when it created the list.

Your "light" list for a week, especially in a hot climate, is my "yikes, I overpacked again!" 😮😅
Exactly what I thought... I think I would take about perhaps a third of this with me. And still have more than enough to choose from! 😆

Because a backpack is way better for your back! Bags over your shoulder or crossbody put strain on your neck/back/shoulder

I thought your pink shorts were fine. Unfortunately I have to wear crew neck t-shirts as my chest needs to be covered (bad sun damage)

I subscribed, you had me when you showed the shorts & Tshirt proportions! I’ve been tucking, but this looks so much better. Thanks for a great video.

We were out eating every evening. One dress would not have done. I guess if we’d Airbnb it would have been different.
@@Myover50fashionlife in that case I’d have 2 nice tops and 2 nice bottoms that mix and match for evening.
Yes that was my red and gingham skirts. I mixed them with black and white tops. It worked well. They were light in weight so easy to pack.
That packing list is so similar to my recent one. I took a cardi and a denim jacket, also 2 skirts. They all mixed and matched. Recommend it!
Thank you
I liked the suggestions for packing. I’m going to try a carry on with personnel bag on my trip to Cabo in October.
Please forgive me, but I think mustard is a hard color for anyone to wear ~ you look amazing in navy! Black leather? Im older and just cant pull it off!
Pack a tube of Travel Wash….and some pegs…I wash as we go each night when I have a shower I rinse things out and dry in a towel they dry overnight .
That was packing light?

Hhhmmmmm, I thought your red "frumpy" dress was really pretty. Great video, thank you.
Oh thank you!
It's just too big really. Its a pretty colour and just a shirt dress but long and wide
Deb here. I thought the dress looked good and appropriate for travel.
Great tips. I also over pack, and always regret it.

Thank you. I have Bb in clair as well as the Cc. I’ll try nude in BB.
I packed much less than that for 5 weeks in Europe. I bought a couple of pieces as needed and was fine.
Our room had no washing facilities and we ate out in the evenings. It was a resort vacation. I guess different activities and needs.
Liked and subscribed!

I thought the pink shorts looked better on you than the beige ones
in many cases, when you have a natural material they still make the lining polyesther. which just ruins it all.
lovely blouse.
Oh gosh, no. Needs to be pure single layer of cotton.

Have you tried wearing green close to your face to counter the rosscea?
I don't over pack and lightweight tops

Subscribed - I am 58 and “yes” I am relevant!
Accessories….change outfits from day to night while a way.
Never check luggage, your wardrobe is way more than I can take. But good tips, thank you.

4 skirts 4 shorts 4 dresses 2 trousers for 7 days?
that's crazy in my book, not light. but i am not a yt influencer 😁
