I worked at a radio station and we played this every 30 minutes for two weeks. It was that big. And I remember this awards show. She came after several disappointing live acts. Then came out and just killed it. I was in a room of about 5 guys and every one of them loved it and said it gave them chills. She's better live if you ask me.
*EPIC* ‼️And *LIVE* on top of that ‼️ You get *ONE* take,on one of the biggest stages in the world. Absolutely *crushed* it‼️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👏👏👏So many years later and this still *BANGS* ‼️ *FLAWLESS VICTORY* 🖤 Cheers from Seattle ‼️🖖
Listen to how Alanis plays with pronunciation of words and her phrasing of sentences. She often changes stress of the words or phrases for rhythmic purposes to artistic effect. She made a career of her style, in addition to her writing and singing skills.
@@infin8reactions Same, but I've worked one of her shows, so have seen it from offstage. The sound is obviously different, but the energy is overwhelming! Live videos are usually bad...but live itself is usually better than ANYTHING you get in a studio... I wish more artists would take 'less than perfect' concert recordings, as album recordings. The energy is infectious, and honestly, is better than a dry studio... (I do both, and MUCH prefer my artists out of the studio!) The word was 'deliberate'...not 'liberate'... but the reaction still worked and made sense!
There are so many things to say about this song! This is lyrical, genius, musical genius. Her voice is truly amazing. I was in my 20s when Alanis Morissette came out. And I was instantly obsessed with her! I love every damn song she’s done, but this right here is my absolute favorite rightfully so!
This song makes me cry every time for some reason. So I just woke up and watched and cried…..now Mr. Lee since you opened up Alanis…can you please do Thank You??? It makes me cry too but I love it!! Morning from the States!
OMG this is too freaky. Hello again. I just welcomed this dude into the Harry Mack fam a cple days ago. Randomly typed in Alanis reaction and seen he had a reaction to this song so I watched it and look who I find in the comments, lol. I've been doing well (you asked in another comment). I've been getting more involved with the Harry Mack community around the net.
Amazing movie and an absolutely haunting, melodic balad... beautiful. The song makes you ache for that kind passion. The "uninvited" are ethereal entities. A moment to "deliberate".
I got to see Alanis perform live at Wembley Arena back in the 90's. I have seen some big bands/groups perform in London but have to say she was fantastic. She done a set that was about an hour and a half long and when the arena started to empty the steward told us to stay in our seats. When there was about 100/150 people left she came back out and done an acoustic set for another 45 minutes very personal and mind blowing. Good reaction by the way.
Love the lyrics, they're beautiful because IMO she wasn't looking for anyone to made her feel these things at all, but someone came along unexpectedly and "uninvited" and now she's having to deliberate whether or not she'll give this person and these feelings a chance. It's up to the listener to imagine the ending of that story, absolute classic.
This is one of those few live performances in the world, that is completely flawless. She is amazing. Zak Brown Band has a flawless live performance video, "Keep Me In Mind", and a lot of Micheal Buble live stuff is amazing, also I have seen Alanis live many times, and she was perfect every time.
Hey,I haven't heard this song for years now,her voice is incredible 👍🎶👍🎶 Her album jagged little pill is sooo good, still sounds awesome 👍🎶🎸👍🎶🎸👍🎶🎸 lotsa 💖💖 from 🇳🇿🇳🇿
Thanks for reaching to this amazing song and verison of #Uninvited by #AlanisMorissette. A mortal meets an angel and she decides she needs to dig deeper for a response to their attraction. It's definitely sonically her best song. Thanks for showing her love.
As others have stated, This was for the Soundtrack to the Nicholas Cage movie,City of Angels. Basic Premise of movie & song is of an Angel on Earth (in L.A. ) who falls in love with a (mortal) Woman
I went to see Alanis and Garbage in concert when I was 17 (I'm 39 now). She played this as her last encore and I wept. I'm so happy others are watching later on and appreciating. I've subscribed because of this vid. ❤️
Not sure if you have checked out Sarah McLachlan or not but her voice is unique like Alanis she has a yodeling quality to her voice and both are Canadian. Anything from her Fumbling Towards Ecstasy album is worthy of listening too .
I think that little 'yodel' you speak of is a Canadian thing .....besides Alanis, Sarah McLauchlan has it, Joni Mitchell.& Avril Lavigne do as well. 🇨🇦
Like anyone would be I am flattered by your fascination with me Like any hot-blooded woman I have simply wanted an object to crave But you, you're not allowed You're uninvited An unfortunate slight Must be strangely exciting To watch the stoic squirm Must be somewhat heartening To watch shepherd meet shepherd But you, you're not allowed You're uninvited An unfortunate slight Like any uncharted territory I must seem greatly intriguing You speak of my love like You have experienced love like mine before But this is not allowed You're uninvited An unfortunate slight I don't think you unworthy But I need a moment to deliberate
The song is written for the movie city of angels where Meg Ryan falls in love with an angel (Nicolas cage). So I think the lyrics are kind of sweet melancholy, like she didn't ask him to come, and she can't help falling in love, but the love can't really ever be.. because they are not from the same "reality". And/or it must be great to experience this kind of love.. to see lovers fall in love. But it's too much or too soon or something.. That's how I always understood the lyrics 😊
She said "deliberate" not "liberate". She wrote that song about a grown man who pursued a sexual relationship with her when she was a girl. She evidently loved him too. I think he took her virginity if I remember correctly. She performed it for "City Of Angels" movie. A great fit lyrically for the movie. Blows my mind that they only used it for ending titles.
So, hey there ... Wanna do a reaction to Gabbie Hanna and her cover of the Alanis Morissette's cover of "you oughta know"? I think it would be interesting to see a possibly unbiased opinion.
@@infin8reactions I hear you. I guess that the bit at the end where you look for the meanings to the lyrics would probably be even better when reviewing that particular cover.
She was taken advantage of in the music industry when she was young, I feel like it speaks of a predatory man. Hands Clean is about this She is saying I need a moment to deliberate
This song was literally witten in 10 minutes. It was written for the film City Of Angels. "Hands Clean" is about her being taken advantage of as a teen when she started out in the music industry...
A good and a bad reaction. Good reaction because the reactor is paying close attention. Bad because despite obvious progression in notes and rhythm, still managing to pause at the worst possible moments. You cannot pause right at the culmination of a crescendo.
Sorry, but you really know how to stop the songs at the worst possible times, totally taking the wind out of the song. You're not really reacting to the song as much as nitpicking to the point the intended experience is lost. Don't feel bad though, the majority of reactors do the same thing. Why, I'll never know.
many many stops & conversations goin on up in here. peeps want the reaction to the music many dont need step by step commentary. great channel but just so many stops

deliberate, not liberate!
Who said liberate?
When Alanis gets that arm going, you know it's gonna be good.

She is absolutely RIDICULOUS. An amazing powerful woman with an angelic voice

I’m not really an Alanis fan, and I would rarely recommend a live version, but this performance was awesome. Breathtaking and powerful.
I think so too buddy 😁

*Deliberate not liberate. Alanis has a unique way of singing her lyrics. Listen for "dissolutionment" in Thank U.*

Haunting.
It's deliberate
Please do more Alanis. There are so few reaction videos of her work on YT.
Have loved and still love this song. It's so haunting, you can feel it.

I’ve always taken uninvited as a song about the fear of love
She’s as good and clear live as she is on album
"So, Alanis: how high should we turn up the smoke machine at the end to make it look cool?"

The lass has a set of lungs on her alright, plenty more to listen to as well, nice one bud.
It's "a moment to deliberate "
About and older gentlemen who was stalking her and eventually gives in to him " i dont think your unworthy, i need a moment to deliberate "
But I think her last word is "Deliberate"... Great reactions yours are. We have great talent in Canada eh!
The other song from this movie you reacted to was Iris by Goo Goo Dolls.
Thanks jaq, maybe I should watch this film lol

But this is not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
I don't think you unworthy
But I need a moment to deliberate

It is "deliberate".
she is my canadian friend, we get it...

she did weird things with her mouth to sing like thatr. sooooooooooooooooo unique

With all those gorgeuos sounds coming at you who cares what it's about! lol
It was the song for the credits it wasn't really in the movie
Hello dear. Actually, she needs a moment to "deliberate", or carefully consider.
She wrote this song to her stalker.
A moment to DELIBERATE. Not liberate. This a song about a stalker… or someone who needs to go away.
Where did you hear that? I don't think anything in the song describes that!
"deliberate" not "liberate" but yea she didn't say it as clearly in this performance so I can see how you made the mistake. Great reaction!!!
